Alpine CDE-HD148BT

The CDE-HD148BT can tune into the improved sound quality of HD Radio stations.

Bluetooth® safety and convenience

Built-in Bluetooth lets you make and take calls hands-free when you're in the car, so you can keep your attention on the road while you talk — no fumbling for the phone or driving with one hand in busy traffic. And you can stream audio from your Bluetooth devices too, with receiver control of basic functions like track up and down. Plus, Alpine's Quad illumination lets you choose from four different colors for the receiver's control buttons for a style that'll work in your car.

Sound quality from the cloud

The Alpine TuneIt App lets you tap into the power of your Android™, iPhone®, and the cloud to customize this receiver's sound output for your car. Download the Alpine TuneIt App and you'll have access to over 3000 custom sound parameters from Alpine's servers. The sound parameters tailor the CDE-HD148BT's 9-band equalizer, digital time correction, high- and low-pass filters, and Media Xpander to tune your system to match your car model, car type, and listening position. And you can share your custom settings with others and even get feedback through Facebook.

Plenty of listening options

The CDE-HD148BT features a handy front-panel auxiliary input and a rear USB port with extension cable. Plug into the USB port for full control over the music stored on your iPhone or iPod®, while Alpine's App Direct Mode lets you control basic playback and view song/artist info from many iPhone music apps. Of course you can enjoy your CDs too, including recordable discs.

System expansion

Want more power? You can add Alpine's KTP-445 Power Pack amplifier, a compact plug-and-play solution that brings this receiver's power output up to 45 watts RMS per channel. Or you can hook up conventional external amplifiers to the three sets of high-voltage preamp outputs to create a killer system for your ride.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

My mom loves it. Simple to operate and delivers great sound.

Alpine continues to turn out a high-quality head unit, year after year. This model offers the abilities of today, with the simple goodness of every Alpine head unit I've owned since the early nineties. The display is dated, (4 star "coolness factor"), but it is a good compromise for the price, (5 star "value").

Pros: Price, Features, 4v Pre amp outs.

    Cons: Dated display

I am extremely pleased with the purchase of this Alpine unit. The sound quality is amazing. I had purchased another brand of receiver and had lots of trouble with the Bluetooth. I decided to try a different brand and went with this Alpine unit. The sound quality is so much better. The controls are responsive and phone quality is great. My girlfriend can't even tell I'm in my truck. The only downside is the display is dated and should be a higher resolution. I couldn't justify spending the extra $ for the next model with the better display. I am now a huge Alpine fan.

Pros: Awesome sound. Fast source switching, Pandora works great. HD radio gives me more choices local stations. Using phone app to try different sound settings based on other user's setting is a great idea.

Cons: Display is dated. iPhone app needs fixing.

I bought this for a 1989 Mazda RX7. Could not get the wiring right. It requires for "negative trip" for all features to work on car. 8 techs and 10 days later it works. What do you expect from a 27 year old. The system sounds amazing and looks very nice with the orange display it matches the cars original display. I am very pleased. It sounds even better with the KTP-445A amplifier.

Had a problem with a 3 yr. Kenwood receiver KDC-BT752HD - wouldn't power off properly - so ordered this unit. Installation was a breeze, although had to use a different wiring harness, and the bracket that the receiver chassis slides into was different - but had already installed the single DIN adapter when I did the Kenwood install. My main requirements for a receiver are HD radio, Bluetooth for hands free calling, CD player. This unit has a more sensitive HD tuner than the Kenwood, and it allows you to save the HD station as a preset- The Kenwood required cycling through the sources to activate the HD, with no option to save HD setting. The external microphone is a big improvement over the built in one in the Kenwood. Buttons are still small - a general problem with all of these receivers, but control is a bit more intuitive. Sound is great - even using stock speakers.

Pros: Bluetooth connection - good phone audio, ability to save HD radio settings, attractive styling, excellent sound quality, good graphics= including signal loss indicator for weak HD reception.

Cons: small buttons for control. Instruction manual is a bit cryptic, although they did include an instruction CD - which I've yet to look at.

Great replacement for an older Alpine receiver that was more basic but still delivered great sound. I've been installing and using Alpine product for 20+ years now in my own vehicles. My son and I installed this stereo in his truck, and I was very pleased to see that Alpine is still the best car stereo in the book. The stereo is very easy to program and use, pairing the phone to the stereo was a breeze. The quality of the hands free options is every as bit as good as the factory system in my wife's new Denali. The sound quality even through the factory speakers is awesome! all in all a great stereo with tons of features for a GREAT price. The install was a breeze with the instructions, adaptors, and mounting kit provided with the order from Crutchfield. Highly recommended! Great Value!

Pros: easy install sound quality tons of features for a great price hands free calling is easy to use and sounds great Great Value!

Cons: none that I can think of right now.

Installation is on a medium level. Folks a some technical knowledge can do this. Crutchfield Tech Guys are a big help. Quite knowledgeable.

Pros: Relatively straight forward installation. Very good sound quality. A big bunch of features once you sort them out. Quite happy with the unit.

Cons: Fit of the plastic adapter leaves much to be desired. There's a gap between the top and bottom of the adapter that is a visually unacceptable. Also, it would be easy to lose a CD through this gap. It would end up behind the dashboard. I miss a clock! A bit cumbersome to operate. I'll get that straight in time. I also wish I had fade control.

Great head unit, replaced the UTE-62BT that I ordered a week earlier with it. Sound quality over the UTE-62BT is night and day, even with the factory EQ set at flat.

Pros: 2 line dot matrix display, great sound right out of the box, rear USB plug (instead of on the faceplate), easy to set up, HD radio.

Cons: Only 4 colors to choose from for the interior lighting, isn't the easiest to match to the interior.

Over all it was great for the price, the sound was a huge improvement over the pioneer deck it replaced. Not a huge fan of the menu structure. It is a little bit scattered through out the radio. The 9 band eq is in a totally different section than the normal Bass and Treble settings. Alos there is no mid eq on the basic settings. The nine band eq is awesome once it is dialed in and sounds , well it sounds like a alpine , which is awesome. The app for tuning is a pain to navigate also. Once it is set it is good to go. I have JBL GX502 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers in the back , and JBL GX862 6"x8" 2-way car speakers in the front doors, weird design I would have thought that would be backwards but it is a convertible running with a JBL GX-A604 4-channel car amplifier - 60 watts RMS x 4, then kicker Kicker 10CVR102s CompVR 10" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils in a bandpass box. The entire set up sounds amazing with the Alpine CDE-HD148BT. I could not get the Mic to work with the radio at all. That is the only major thing I have complaints about.

Pros: 4 volt pre amps Bluetooth connectivity is really good - It has not dropped out once and automaticly connects once set up Easy to use for day to day use - Hard to dial in to get everything tweaked and dialed in The price is pretty on point for the other head units in the same price range

Cons: Could not get the Microphone to work at all - Think I got a bad mic stright out of the box The app is a pain if you try to use it, cool idea though but over all it was easier to dial it in from the head unit itself

I've owned a long line of Alpine car decks and always been impressed. This one adds some new features, including Bluetooth and a direct USB connection. My earlier decks were Bluetooth-ready and required a special cable to connect an iPod of similar USB device. Setting this guy up was easy and sound quality is excellent. Adjusting settings is a breeze. The Bluetooth connection to my iPhone works flawlessly, though I have to say I only use it to stream music. Another impressive product from Alpine.

Pros: Great sound, intuitive menus, high value

Had all the features I wanted, easy to install, pretty intuitive. Very easy to switch between inputs (bluetooth, USB, etc.). Only thing I haven't figured out yet is radio station presets and how to get to the HD stations. Probably will figure that out in all of 30 secs once I actually take a minute before driving off to wherever.

Pros: easy install, easy to switch from one source to another, looks good.

Cons: Slightly difficult to navigate radio stations, but I mean, what would you expect from a 1-DIN.

I was in the market for a new head unit so I could enjoy my commute and add some much needed features to my car stereo like hands-free phone calls, Bluetooth connectivity, and Pandora while still having a CD player. I wanted a head unit that did not look gaudy, but had good EQ options. I chatted with a least three different Crutchfield advisors and narrowed it down to this unit. I have been using it for about one month and overall am pleased with the unit. I'm hoping for a firmware release from Alpine to even out the AM/FM tuner volume discrepancy. Also, not all TuneIt options area available on this unit. I would buy Alpine again, but would also shop around.

Pros: Once the unit was installed and tuned, the sound was very good. The 9-channel EQ is nice when accessed through the TuneIt app. There are a few minor EQ adjustment options for each source. The different input options are good. I really like the Pandora control of my Android phone. The built quality is good. The look of the unit is nice and clean/functional although it is a bit bright even when the auto dimmer is enabled (I suppose this means that the display does not wash out like other units).

Cons: The Bluetooth phone calls are a bit noisy according to people I have called. I have had to re-"pair" my smartphone once already reset the Bluetooth connection (head unit would show a connection to the phone even when the phone was not connected) - so far so good. The 9-channel EQ applies to all the input sources so some compromise is required to get generally good sound from every source. There is only one button to cycle through the input sources (6). The AM tuner is much louder than the FM.

Nice deck for my truck, bought it to replace a CDE-BT143 which replaced a CDA-9886 and before that a CDA-9856. I do find the sound to be nice and clear through Alpine SPR-60C components and SPR-68 6X8's, specifically the midrange and highs. I also have a KTP-445A that I easily hid In the dash that definitely helps with clarity at higher volume. The available timing control and crossovers come in handy as the KTP doesn't have its own and timing correction is necessary for excellent sound at least from the drivers seat. The controls and menus take a little time to learn but what deck has exactly the same menu and button layout as your previous one? Build quality is ok I guess, not many things IMO are built the way they were 10 years ago. I haven't finished my sub box but that will be the last addition and Alpine's subwoofer controls have been an extra I like having. Also for me the rear USB input wasn't a problem because the extension cable provided more than enough extra length to route it through the dash easily. The Bluetooth function works fine, tried it with a 5th gen IPod, iPhones 4s and 6s, a Samsung 6edge, and an iPad.

Pros: USB port isn't positioned to leave your flash drive or phone cable etc sticking out of the front of the unit where it can be snagged or bumped into. Different color displays?

Cons: That 9 band parametric EQ is great but for an OCD person like me you will be touching it all too much trying to find the "perfect" setting haha

Holy cow a 50+ page Instruction booklet. I've not yet printed the darn thing out and sadly I'm a paper reader guy. The Alpine CDE-148 is a wonderful head unit. I've had six previous Alpine units over the years in both my wife's car and my truck and all have been fantastic. Sound adjustment are a bit complex but with time even I can master them. If I tune into my favorite start up, Terrapin Station by the Dead, the quality sound can still send me to a favorite space. My only negative factor is that this unit won't drive me home.

    Pros: Great

Cons: Complex sound adjustment for this older gentleman.

With the help of tech support, installation was simple. The sound quality is perfect for my Volvo sedan. I'm still learning the nuances of the receiver, and unfortunately, this means several trips to my desktop computer to go through the manual via the CD-Rom. One disappointment is that the AM reception sucks. I've retraced my steps to make sure I didn't miss anything, and still have virtually no AM reception.

Pros: Attractive display, illuminates nicely in my dash, sound quality is excellent, BT Audio is crisp, SiriusXm comes in flawlessly

Cons: Manual on Cd-Rom is a pain, poor Am radio reception

Great system overall. Huge sound improvement - even with factory speakers.

Pros: Plenty of preset sound options. If you like tweeking your music just right. Instead of a Low Mid and High setting. You get 9 frequencies to set - to get it just right.

Cons: Control panel / buttons, can be adjusted in one of 4 different colors, but the display panel cannot be changed, stays a light blue. So a gave it a coolness factor of 3 stars. Otherwise everything is great - you buy Alpine for the sound.

I broke down and decided to buy an aftermarket head unit because I wanted Bluetooth, HD radio, Pandora control, and the ability to answer/make phone calls via the radio. Alpine has always served me well and I had a variant of this model in my old truck. This stereo has all of the makings of a perfect unit that does not come with navigation. It does everything that the higher priced models can with 4 volt preamp outputs for all 3 channels that I needed. So far, I like the functionality of the radio, but it does take some slight reading to get through it all. I would recommend this radio to anyone wanting the options that I was looking for. I can even add Sat for $50, but I don't like paying a subscription at the moment, so I did not opt for the kit at this time. For the price, this is the perfect DIM unit, take care.

Pros: Great looks, wonderful colors, and amazing capabilities/options for upgrades and utilization. You can customize nearly everything through this unit.

Cons: It is tricky to set up and you must set the EQs for each source (i.e. HD Tuner, Pandora, Bluetooth, etc...).

Alpine has hit it out of the park in my opinion with this system. For me it is the right combination of price, features and performance. The Alpine brand has always been a leader in sound and build quality so I felt safe ranking them high in my selection criteria. The feature set is what finally sold me. I wanted a system with Bluetooth capability for hands free calling and audio playback from my smart phone...which is a Samsung S4 not an iPhone which all the brands feel compelled to market too. In addition, I wanted an external microphone option for enhanced clarity during my car conversations. The Bluetooth audio is fantastic, I stream from Rhapsody and the Alpine handles it flawlessly while even displaying the Artist, Song current being played. The same is true for my USB drive content. You can choose the song details you want to display. I will admit, the two line display and the user interface to alter some of the functions can be a bit nested and cumbersome but I new that in a single DIN system this would be unavoidable. That is why I rank the Ease of Use criteria lowest due to the single DIN design, not what Alpine has done. Phone calls are handled effortless with the Alpine fading out the music to allow voice interaction with my phone. It works great! I am very satisfied with this system. If you are looking for the ultimate visual experience this is not the deck for you but if great features and performance is what you are looking for, here you go.

    Pros: Features, Sound Quality

Cons: Nested Menus of a single DIN system

Wanted a new system to work with my phone as the factory radio in my 2006 Wrangler Rubicon was starting to have problems. This unit wasn't plastic y or cheap looking like a kid's toy like some head units and the Alpine name is generally respected. As for the performance, I needed the best output capability I could find in a receiver as I could not add an external amp without extensive rewiring and changes. This thing delivered in spades and exceeded my expectations for a replacement. The Bluetooth works flawlessly with my Android phone. It gets louder and sounds way better than the factory unit. I was torn between HD and regular radio and I extremely happy that I got the HD. Controls are not bad and most are intuitive but nothing is perfect. I compared different models of Alpine and other brands and this had everything I was or might be interested in. there may have been some other similar features on the other units but the main thing that sold me on this one was the firsthand knowledge and confidence in the superior build quality of this unit by the Crutchfield technician when I asked how this compared to others not costing as much.

Pros: Attractive color changing front, fit was decent, sound quality, power, features including excellent Bluetooth

    Cons: None

Solid unit, looks classy and everything works great. The CD's don't skip, the USB works with flash drives, the bluetooth interfaced with my Galaxy S4 simply.

Pros: Crutchfield provided all the correct mounting accessories and instructions for my 2004 Dodge Stratus, installing was simple. You'll need some wire-to-wire crimp connects. Kit w/ pocket Item #: 120996504, Wire Harness Item #: 120706502, Antenna Adaptor Item #: 12040CR10

Cons: I can't find the equalizer settings I thought it had, just the sub, bass, treble. I wish selecting a source was faster, you have to cycle through all the inputs (radio, disc, usb, pandora, ...) whether its available or not.

Good solid radio with awesome features. It falls flat when it comes to bass, you either need to add a subwoofer or Apline needs to add a bass boost for a bit more punch

Pros: Love the Bluetooth and the idea of making custom tunings for your car.

Nicely made. Substantial. Has the look and feel (buttons) of a quality unit. I wanted to keep my factory BMW (1986) radio, but it finally died. I'm fussy about quality. I have had this receiver for almost a year now. It is an overall great product. The only feature I have ever really used is the bluetooth. I get in my car and start it up, and the receiver links to the iPhone 5 in my pocket right away and I can control the music and the phone straight from the deck. There is only one problem. After almost a year of use, the bluetooth doesn't work anymore. The receiver won't pair with anything. I have tried resetting, and I have followed all directions and I can't get it to work. I won't bother trying to fix it. I don't plan on putting any more money into my current vehicle. I plan on getting a new one. Everything else about the deck is great. This will probably be my last Alpine deck. I have had two previous Alpine decks and they were all great. I just think it's time for something different.

Once again Alpine has blown me away with another high quality head unit!!! I have been running Alpine head units for about 14 years now, and every time I upgrade, I am just blown away and speechless!!! Feature packed awesomeness!!! Controls everything right from the head unit. It literally does everything anyone could ever want!!! I tested the head unit powering my upgraded speakers, sounded amazing. Now I am running JBL amp, and MTX Thunder 8000 12" sub, and this deck lets me adjust anything and everything on the fly as I see fit, I couldn't ask for anything more!!!

Pros: Awesome features, controls every aspect of your system right at your fingertips, the sound quality is second to NONE!!! Color changing face :-D , easy installation, usb and aux hookups, 4 volt preouts for amp installs!!! LOVE IT!!!

Cons: as amazing as this unit is, I often find it to be a bit time consuming to navigate through all of the features, that is one thing I wish they would have added easy buttons for.

Recently installed this stereo in my 02' Accord. I was looking for a stereo with iPod connectivity, and Bluetooth. This unit exceeded my expectations. Its a great all around receiver, plus it comes with HD Radio which makes listening to the radio so much better. I also am impressed by how great the hand-free calling feature works. I haven't had anyone complain about the phone breaking up while using the hands-free feature. The unit's sound output is much better than my stock stereo and I haven't even configured the Tuneit feature yet. With that said, I'm sure the Tuneit feature will make it sound even better.

Pros: Overall, this is a nice higher end receiver that allows for easy upgrades such as adding an amplifier. I haven't yet added an amp, but can't wait to hear the sound improvement. Especially since this receiver has 3 sets of pre-amp outputs pushing 4V each.

Cons: Some of the menus are a little confusing at first. Had to print out the instruction manual included on CD. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it, but once you do you'll realize how easy it is to use.

I purchased this radio thinking it was an upgrade. I was looking for HD Radio features, this one has it and as a bonus Pandora and Bluetooth. HD Radio is great, however the text display should list artist and then song, this displays station and artist, click view button and song and genre. Now BT, maybe I have a bad unit but I don't like it. BT connected first time and went to Pandora on my HTC One and it played thru car speakers, now, I'm using the BT source on the HU. Stopped working after I turned off HU and on again, should connect automatically but didn't. Had to force connect, didn't work, turn off/on BT on both devices, didn't work. Delete device from HU and phone and pair again, just to work for couple minutes and lose sound again, that was BT Mode on HU. The HU has Pandora as a source and that didn't work at all. I'm thinking its my HTC One, tried my wife's iPhone 5 and same scenario, worked initial time but after power cycle HU, same problem. USB function, that is ok if you use flash drive, but HTC One charges battery and plays locally stored files. iPhone charges also and plays locally stored songs but no Pandora control on either cell phones. Hands-Free is cool when BT is working, was able to hide microphone behind dash for a clean look. So I don't know if the HU is defective, marketing lies or bad cell phones.

Pros: HD Radio sounds great, 6 preouts, came with microphone and USB ext . Lights are changeable

Cons: Bluetooth. No Pandora control thru USB, as advertised. HD Radio text.

This unit really improved the sound quality of our Sorrento. The basic functions of the unit are easy to use and I love the old time radio station push buttons. On the head unit in my truck I hate having to scroll up and down to change stations. We're still learning about all of the other features.

Pros: Easy to set up for basic use.

Cons: A DVD for the manual... really??? It's kind of a pain to have to go in the house to read the manual and then back out to the car to set a function.

This unit is a great value in terms of bluetooth functionality for media streaming from your phone, handsfree calling using the microphone and overall stereo audio quality. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Great sound. Excellent call quality wtih the bluetooth handsfree calling feature. People I'm on the phone with often ask me if I'm at home while I'm talking going down the highway.

Cons: It's a small nit, but the options on displaying the clock are not greatest. For example your only option for the clock is to have a small display at the bottom of the display. The manual is not that good.

I bought this stereo for my wife. Works great. She praised it the first couple of days while figuring out how to use it. Got a couple of questions from her that I helped her out on. But most important of all, she is no longer complaining about the Jensen that was in the vehicle when we bought it.

Pros: Makes my wife happy. No more complaining.

Cons: I had to look some stuff up in the manual, She was not going to do it.

We are very happy with the Alpine quality, the sound is great. However I purchased this for my dad to use with his cell phone to comply with the new cell phone laws. The connection will not work, his phone connected 2 times and will not connect again & so far no solution. Very excellent customer service as always at Crutchfield!

Pros: Excellent sound quality Nice looking Easy to install

Cons: Will not work with dads Bluetooth cell phone

I am very impressed with the Alpine 148-BT head unit. I had an Alpine head unit in my previous vehicle, however it was 10 years old so I did not remove it when I sold it. In the new truck (new to me), one of the first things I missed was listening to my iPod in the car. I really enjoy the line in controls for the iPod that lets me choose whether to control the iPod with the head unit or via the iPod. With the digital line in the sound quality is excellent. I am really amazed at the better sound I am able to get out of the stock speakers. One of the main reasons I purchased this particular unit is for the Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to receive SiriusXM radio (with an additional part SXV200 v1)). The hands-free integration with my old iPhone 4 is flawless and have been told the sound quality is better than using the phone by itself. In the near future I plan to replace the factory speakers with a set of Alpine SPR-68's and also install Dynamat sound deadening to my doors. I would also like to add the SiriusXM connection. I gave four stars for value because Crutchfield charges more for the product, however I have purchased from Crutchfield before and appreciated the "extras" to help with installation. While I received all of the necessary parts, the installation instructions were not as thorough as before and I had to watch a few YouTube videos (not from Crutchfield) to help with the install. I highly recommend this head unit I installed in my 2000 Ford F-150 XLT

Pros: Great sound. Flexible options (connectivity and colors). Easy to navigate.

Cons: Installation instructions/guides were not as thorough as I have received from Crutchfield in the past.

Great head sounds very good very powerful. The 18w this head puts out are big strong watts. The display is a bit plain but the ability to change the color to match your gauge display is nice. Having the song info from hd stations is a great plus. The controls are not that hard to use but could be a little more intuitive. Over all this has been a very nice upgrade to my car and would recommend this product to friends and family.

Pros: sounds awesome: front, rear and sub rca jacks

    Cons: ?

Awesome head unit, but a little too complex. After having in my car for nearly three weeks, i'm still trying to figure out some of the features. Tried out the Alpine Tune it app and seems to make a difference. Will be playing with it some more.

Pros: Build and sound quality. Value. and a fantastic retailer in Crutchfield.

Cons: The illumination dimmer feature doesn't work as i expected. only dims the unit marginally and is not further dimmed by the dash lights dimmer.

I never write reviews. But after talking with advisor Jackson at Crutchfield about a replacement for my kenworth semi truck, I had to write a review about this receiver. Although I was leaning toward Kenwood, Advisor recommended the Alpine cde hd148bt. This is the most awesome receiver I have ever purchased. After installing it with factory speakers, it sounded like I replaced the speakers also. Great receiver. You will not regret purchasing this radio. Oh I almost forgot to mention this. In the past I made alot of my purchases from another retailer and you may not find the cheapest price at Crutchfield, but you will not find better customer service, or help when you are not sure which product is best for you. And the advice you will get from Crutchfield is advice you will not receive anywhere else.

Pros: Tune it app, Sound, Easy to use. And the display is easy to read during the day unlike some other brands

    Cons: nothing

This head unit replaces an older ALPINE I installed 14 years ago and it was pretty much PLUG N PLAY! The Bluetooth is a great add-on to have hands free in my truck as is the support for USB audio, just add your favorite songs to a thumb drive and put it on MIX or play the music in the folder you select! The unit has a bright screen and easy to see, but I think they could do a better job of the menu system on the unit! I also added the ALPINE remote control and it too was easy to use, but wish it was smaller like the one with the UNIT it replaces. Overall a great CD RECEIVER.

Pros: Easy to see and great sound!

Cons: Setup menu could be better!

Versatile equalization combined with quality Alpine sound and the Tuneit App allowed me to successfully fine tune the sound in my RAV4 with only factory speakers. HD radio reception is spotty in my area but sounds great when available. This is a reasonably priced package that meets most of my needs. Wish same features were available in a DVD receiver.....

Pros: Great sound and versatile equalization. Bluetooth works well. HD radio sounds good.

Cons: HD radio reception spotty. Wish same features (Tuneit/Equalization) were available in a DVD/GPS package.

I purchased this head unit to replace the factory bose unit in my 2004 Tahoe. Let me tell you. It doesn't sound like I replaced just the deck, It sounds like I replaced the entire system. What alpine has done to ingrate the new Technology to easily adapt into your already existing system and have this much impact is absolutely amazing! I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Pros: Blue tooth, IPhone app to run the EQ, massive expandability, didn't even need to add a separate sub, this deck rocks the factory one just fine.

    Cons: Do not have any!

Cons: Haven't been able to find one.

This is a great little unit for the price. Would like to see Alpine include HD radio tuner standard in a lower priced unit. Easy to install, sounds real nice with upgraded speakers in front doors.

Pros: Crutchfield installation instructions were right on.

Cons: Boxed real poorly by Crutchfield. Looked like an accordian when I received it, but Alpine has some serious industrial strength bubble wrap, so actual unit wasn't harmed.
