The KCM-122B allows you to connect 1 audio auxiliary source (with RCA outputs) to any Alpine Versatile-Link™-ready M-bus head unit (model number will contain an "M," as in CDM-9821). Once connected, you can select the AUX source on your receiver and utilize the Bass Engine® sound-shaping functions to personalize the playback. (When using the KCM-122B cable, a CD changer cannot be connected to the receiver.) Warranty: 1 year.

Bravo to Alpine for building in some extra functionality to their systems. It's great that I can just switch source to "AUX" and anything I choose to play through the RCA adapters will come through loud and clear.

Setup was very easy and works as advertised. Basically you just set the unit to switch to "AUX" mode (it becomes another choice as you toggle between tuner and CD modes) and plug in the adapter. Sound quality is as good or better than anything because it's just a direct line-in. I like it a lot better than the FM modulator in my other vehicle, but that's another review...
