Full playback and fast charging

Want to listen to your iPod or iPhone through your 2009-up Alpine CD receiver? Connect this KCU-445i connection cable between your iPod and the stereo's USB port, and you'll get super-fast data transfer and full playback control. You'll enjoy the superior sound quality of the Alpine's digital-to-analog converter, plus your iPod's or iPhone's battery will charge extra fast as you drive, thanks to the cable's compatibility with the 1-amp USB ports found on new Alpine receivers. The package contains an 8-inch connector cable and a 5-foot extension cable in case your receiver has a rear USB port.

Once connected, your receiver's controls allow you to manage just about every playback function right from the radio's faceplate. QuickSearch™ makes it easy to find the music that you want — jump between artists, albums, and playlists at the push of a button. You can even scroll through songs using the rotary control knob. Album, artist, and song information from your iPod will show up on the radio's display, too. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Why would I need an iPod® adapter?

An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was a very simple way to get the exact thing that we needed. We searched several other companies and no one had it and definitely not for a price that we liked. So thank you for having exactly what we needed, for getting it to us quickly and for making the whole ordering process so simple and easy to manage.

Pros: Easy to order site, quickly processed and shipped, and a great fair price.

Cons: Wasting time searching anywhere else.

Sound Out of Sight

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love that the cable is thick and solid. I was already removing the center console on my Boxster, so I was able to run the cable inside the console and fashion an iPod connection inside my storage compartment so I have no exposed cable. My Alpine stereo completely takes over iPod control and now I wonder why I even purchased a CD Receiver and not just a media receiver alone. I could not be happier. If you can keep the cable out of sight and position your iPod where it's obscure, you have a killer stereo without the distracting wires. If I couldn't hide the wires, I'd still use the cable, as it really makes playing the iPod through the rear USB of my car stereo easy and efficient.

Pros: Great connection, thick wires, heavy construction.

Cons: None, really.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have use many of the iPod connection over the years, but this one is by far the most innovative.. With the CDE HD 138BT, I have much more control of the iPod than ever before. When I use my iPhone with the Head unit it is even more user friendly. I can't say enough good things about tis Alpine product and all the Alpine products. Crutchfield has the best after sales customer services I've ever had the pleasure of working with, and they ship for FREE I like that. Thanks guys for great before and after sales support. Russell YB

Pros: Great product, easy to install and use. Alpine is the best. Crutchfield carries the full line.

Cons: No complaints on any issue

From what I can see on Crutchfield's site, this KCU-445I unit has no 3.5mm plug for inputting into the aux input on some receivers. I have this cord because I don't need the aux plug option. I've "buried" my USB and I connect my iPod inside the storage compartment between the driver and passenger seat. [ IVORY COAST  Jan 17, 2014 ]
The KCU-445i will allow you to listen to any Apple product . What the KCU-461iV adds is the capability to watch video on the double din touch screen products. If you don't need video, go for the 445i [ PHILIP M  Jan 17, 2014 ]
