Want a simple way to kick up the power of your Alpine receiver? Alpine's "Power Pack" amplifier increases your receiver's power output to 45 watts RMS power by 4 channels — plenty of power to drive high-performance speakers or keep up with a big subwoofer amplifier.
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
This amp works great with my alpine cde 123. Now I don`t have to turn volume up to distortion levels.
Pros: love the size. makes mounting options many.
Cons: none for me
I purchased this product after being dissatisfied with my factory stereo connected to aftermarket speakers I had purchased and installed from Crutchfield. There was simply not enough volume or bass coming from my factory receiver. So, I purchased the Alpine UTE-52BT Digital Media Receiver in combination with the Alpine KTP-445A Head Unit Power Pack 45W x 4 Car Amp, in hopes of improving the quality and volume from my car's sound system.
Wow! What an incredible difference this made! Night and day difference! I lost any distortion I was experiencing before with the factory receiver. I'm very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it for those on a budget and not interested in competition level sound systems. This set up is more the adequate for my needs!
My only negative is that this install was NOT really plug and play as so many other reviewers have stated. You still must strip plastic sleeves from wires coming off of connectors from the Power Pack and splice together the wires coming off of the connector attached to your car and use black electrical tape to make sure they stay connected. This was a very time consuming process and took a couple of hours for me to complete. I have zero experience doing this and I was very apprehensive and seriously considered hiring a professional installer. However, after speaking on the phone with Crutchfield tech support, they walked me through the process and eased my concerns of not being qualified to complete the install.
Pros: Night and day sound difference. It sounds incredible and I highly recommended the upgrade for anyone on a budget!
Cons: It is NOT truly plug and play as other reviewers have stated. There is still many wires to splice, connect and tape. Very time consuming and intimidating but, with Crutchfield's tech support, you can do it! I did! Also your iPhone or iPod requires a wired, USB connection. It will NOT work through Bluetooth. This was very disappointing.
This amp power pack made some serious sound attached to my Alpine CD on my Harley Davidson. The 4 5.25 speakers never sounded so good until now. Highly recommended source of small clean power.
Pros: Very compact. Clean sound. Good value.
Very pleased with this amp matched up with an Alpine CDE-SXM145BT installed in a 2012 Kia Soul. This amp tucked perfectly into the dash once the factory unit was removed. Didn't even need to drill any mounting holes! It gave my son a great lesson on why power is a good thing.
I have Alpine SPC 610C speakers in the front and 610's in the back, plus a great pioneer sub and an Alpine deck. This little amp has boosted the overall performance of my car stereo to great heights. If you want to be rocking out this is the way to go. It was super easy to install and it fits inside the dash so you don't even have to worry about it being stolen or in the way. Basically I have a fantastic stereo and my truck looks OEM, with this amp being a big part of it. 100% would recommend for anyone looking to add a boost to there stereo.
Pros: Size, Ease of instillation, Power, Quality
Quite possibly the best decision i have ever made in car stereo installation is to get one of these power packs installed with an Alpine head unit!! My Infinity Speakers are rocking off the charts, the RMS wattage per channel definitely helps to offset the giant bass I am producing with my amp and sub, no matter how loud I turn the Sub up I can still hear the crystal clear Highs and Mids produced by my speakers. Don't get me wrong, you do not need this if you do not update your stock speakers in your car, but if you do, you definitely need this product to meet their full potential.
Pros: Amazingly easy to install, easy to hide, fits perfectly behind dash
Cons: None... Even converting my standard fuse from 10amp to 15amp was extremely easy, these should be a bundle option with every alpine stereo sold!!
Good product.Nice easy install, plug n play no need for running miles of wiring. Not looking for a competition block shaking system so this is a nice addition.Cleans up and improves already good sound from Alpine HU.Driving 6x9s and 6.5s nothing monstrous, sounds good!
Cons: Nothing unless you are lookinf to build a system with monster subs.Good enough for normal coaxes.
I put this in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler along with an Alpine Head unit (Alpine CDE-HD149BT CD Receiver) and I made the unit sound great. It is not going to "thump" the neighbor's house but it will help you hear the radio when the top is off the jeep. Easy to install, hard to find a place to hide in a wrangler. As of right now it lives in the glove box. I am looking for any ideas on where to mount it, and how, on this year jeep.
Pros: Easy install, sounds great.
Cons: None so far
Great idea Alpine!
Pros: Easy installation, plenty long wire leads for remote location, small and powerful
A Great addition to my alpine ilx-007 unit. Powerful with clear sound.
Pros: Very easy and quick installation. small enough to fit behind the head unit.
Cons: None, very happy with this power pack unit.
Alpine - I love this! No more power wires to the battery to amp your internals. I Really didn't think this little power pack would live up to its ratings. I had a 4 channel Memphis amp 50 x 4, and I feel I get better sound quality (New Alpine deck probably helps as well) out of this little dash mounted 45 x 4 power pack. I will never run a full 4 channel amp again!!
Pros: Easy to wire, hides in the dash, no wire to the battery needed. Worth every penny
Cons: Haven't found one
Made a huge improvement on the boat. 5 minute install. I'm surprised how much cleaner the sound is at moderate volume, which is our typical level. Worth twice the price.
Pros: Super simple install Much improved sound Takes up very little space
Cons: None so far
Clean sound, easy install.
Pros: compact size, plug and play
When I first got the amp I honestly was surprised how small it was. It's so small that the bundle of wires that comes with it are actually bigger than the amp itself haha. I installed it into my 85 4Runner tucked under the head unit. Once you tuck in the wires it can literally fit almost anywhere you could imagine. Currently I have it pushing a pair of Kicker 4" in the front and kicker 5 1/4 in the rear. Without the compact sub reggae, rock and classical sound amazing though rap and other genres that have a lot of bass need the additional sub to really enjoy the beat. I installed a Kenwood ksc-sw11 under the front passenger seat and the system sounds amazing, exactly what I wanted thanks to Crutchfield!
Pros: Super small and powerful and its easy to mount/hide.
Cons: Hiding the wires was the only problem I ran into other than that the product is solid.
Easy to hook it up plug and play. I would buy this again with my Alpine deck.
Pros: Make my JL speakers sound great in my Ford F250 2005 Crew Cab
This amplifier is amazing. The sound quality with the cde-164bt, type r car speakers front spr -6.34 and spr -68 in the back. Would never expect anything less from alpine.
Pros: Brings out the full quality sound from the cde-164bt and the speakers sound nothing short than awesome.
Cons: Not a one
So, amping up is the way to go with any deck installation. Remember to look at the RMS on the head unit and not the peak watts. I paired this with an Alpine HU with 18 W RMS and it's a pair of Kicker 6 3/4 2 way speakers and what a big difference to the sound. You can't install nice speakers and expect the HU to power it. Amp up and this amp is super easy to install and it is hidden behind my HU out of view.
Pros: Portable. Easy install. Good length of wiring to stash the unit somewhere behind your dash.
This is probably one of the easiest car audio installs I have ever done. It took me way more time to find the space to put the amp in the dash of my MINI Cooper. It is literally plug and play. Nice improvement in sound quality at all volumes.
I've had my Alpine head unit for a while, which I love for the iPod integration; I'm able to have a huge part of my music library right in my car. I have upgraded the speakers in my MINI and added a Bazooka subwoofer, but have been reluctant to add an amp due to the limited space and lack of willingness to tear apart my interior to install under the seats. Then I read about this amp and all the great reviews and knew I had to give it a try. With the limited space of a MINI I knew it would be a challenge to find someplace in the dash but it fit behind and above the head unit just fine with a little manipulation. I just used some zip ties for the amp and the extra wire and it is in there pretty securely.
Anyone who has an Alpine head unit or contemplating upgrading to one should just get one.
Pros: Easy install, nice sound improvement for an Alpine head unit
Installed it yesterday. It is very easy to do. Have a 98 4runner with stock speakers. I couldn't beleive the difference it made in sound quality. It is worth every penny.
Pros: Easy install. Takes about 15 minutes. Don't need a bulky amp in your trunk. Sounds great.
Cons: Can't control the gains. So you can't tinker with it.
Just what I needed! Perfect plug-n-play with the Alpine head I already installed on my harley last year. Fits right on top inside the fairing and really made a difference. Just enough power to hear the music clearly over my obnoxious pipes.
A great way to increase power, quickly and easily. This is a great idea from alpine a tiny plug in amp for their headunits to boost power. The amp definitely boosts power and is very clean sound. The only bad thing is that your alpine headunit has no clue that it is connected to this, which makes it so that any level is louder and unfortunately you have no way to adjust parameters like you would in a true 4 channel amp. I love to setup my amps so that at max volume on the headunit there is no distortion from the amps. Giving me the entire volume range.
Pros: Superfast installation, decent power with much better overhead than factory unit.
Cons: No adjustments.
Great amp. Plug in and play. Makes my stereo and speakers sound great in my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK.
Pros: Simple to use and install .
Sounds very good for such a small package
Pros: Fits anywhere
With the Alpine head unit, Alpine R series speakers, This amp is just what is needed to make the sound come together, Keep in mind the system is in a Kenworth W900l And sounds great, Thank you Crutchfield
Pros: Plug and Play
Great add on power. Really makes the sps-517 in the doors jump.
Pros: Easy to add
This thing is such an easy addition to improve your car audio. I've installed several larger amp set ups of varying complexity in mine and my friends cars over the years but I gotta say, I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon. This class D amp does a great job for its size and its ease of installation. Literally, all I had to do was splice an Alpine wire harness to the car head unit harness, find a clever place for it and the job was done. So easy and I'm honestly amazed at how much power is produced, I don't even run this thing close to full volume and it bumps the car.
Pros: Easy Sufficient power
Cons: Would be difficult to add a sub
This amp is a great addition for those of us that have small cars and who may not want to run additional wires. This really boosted the sound quality of my Alpine head unit. The sound isn't super crisp on the highs but it is warm overall. I think that you sacrifice some quality for the easy installation and use.
Pros: easy to install, small form factor
Cons: Not super crisp highs but its good for what it is.
Bought this along with the Alpine CDE-154BT. They work great together and makes my 6x8's come to life.
Pros: Plug and play. No more RCA's, power or ground to run. Super compact and everything fit behind my head unit in my 2001 Tacoma.
Cons: Extra long wire harness. But I just stuffed it all behind my HU.
Installed this power pack with my Alpine digital head unit and Alpine SPR-68 and it all sounds perfect.
Pros: Very easy installation and fits nicely in my dash behind the head unit.
Cons: No cons. Absolutely love it.
Just installed new speakers before adding this amp. The sound before adding the amp was good, but when I plugged in this amp the sound was great. And when I say plugged in it was just that easy to hook up, I spent a total of about 20 minutes and most of it was to find a location for the amp.
Pros: super simple install, Great little amp adds some needed punch
I ordered this w/ the 154BT HU & 6.5" S-model components for a '95 Miata. I test ran just the HU and speakers then put the top down and went for a spirited drive. Muttered, "decent", then went back for the amp install. Amazing and instant improvement!
My install wasn't plug-n-play as it should be; I'm complicated. The Miata doesn't give you much space and the wires are quiet long. I cut the harnesses down and soldered and heatshrinked so it wasn't so cluttered and stuffed. I'm sure it'll get warm. I also put the OEM adapter on this amp instead of the HU, again less clutter.
I ran a fused 14G wire from the yellow to the battery in the trunk. It takes 10min and easier than getting to my fuse block just to see if it's 15A or not. There is a 15A fuse on the amp, a 10A on the HU, & I used a 20A on the bat run so they are individually protected.
NA Miata owners, this fits nicely behind the metal bracket behind the HU, like it was meant to be there.
Pros: -Must have with any Alpine HU install w/ aftermarket speakers. Install "can" take 30 minutes max and really is plug-n-jam. -Priced very fairly given other options can easily double the cost once installed and done.
Cons: -Don't know what the 2 hold-down brackets are for. No hardware for them and instructions just show how to plug it in. -Connectors are TIGHT. They do secure nicely but takes a lot of effort. Do this part before working in tight spaces.
works great easy to install
Pros: easy to install
Very easy to install in with a new alpine ine-w940, just plug and play. Greatly improved the sound in a complete car stereo upgrade. Installed in 4th gen 4runner in the small compartment inside the glovebox.
Pros: easy to install, sounds great.
Plug n play...more than enough power for my little system
Added a little more depth and clarity to the sound.
Pros: Easy to hook up
Cons: About 30 dollars less on two other sites
The Alpine KTP-445A Power Pack was .
Pros: Worth every penny and was super easy to install.
very easy to mount and simple connect to the Alpine 149BT receiver..Boosts as it's advertized..When I got the 149BT Radio/CD player I was dissapointed at the low wattage...it barely tickled the JBLs in my truck. this unit should have been built into the alpine receiver for the cost of it.
Pros: Nice unit
This has just enough punch to take your base head unit that does less than 20w RMS and adequately feed speakers capable of handling over 80w RMS. Sound quality is excellent, it's not loud, just a great, full sound. I've added this to two all Alpine systems now and it is definitely the key piece of gear that brings it all together.
Pros: Size, good heat dissipation, not over powering, price
Cons: None yet!
Added a good deal of punch and volume to my system. A good complement to my Alpine deck, and well worth the price. Installation was easy and straightforward. I was even able to mount it in the dash behind the stereo, though it was fairly tight.
Pros: Good value. Easy install.
It sounds great. Its small and will fit in a lot of places. I dont have a lot of room in my truck so this fits well. As a kid I always wanted some alpine gear, now I have some, now I am happy. I have it paired with alpine 6.75s and alpine 5.25s.
Pros: Fits behind my head unit in the dash of my 02 dodge dakota. Its small, stays cool, it doesnt overheat and shut off due to being inside my dash. You could mount this easily in a glove box or small console.
Cons: None really. Check your system, it required a larger power source then the 10a power source dodge provided. My alpine head unit and this require at least a 25a fuse.
I purchased this amp to compliment the Alpine CDE-143BT I purchased to replace a older Alpine head unit. Installation could not have been any easier. The wiring harness only connects one way, so mixing up the wiring is not a concern. Alpine supplies more than enough wiring to place this nearly anywhere in your dash and its compact size is perfect.
I did however, go back and forth between having the speakers driven by this amp and just the head unit and did not noticed a huge difference. That may be due to the speakers (4 Pioneer TS-G1644R 6.5"'s), although they are rated at 40 watts RMS and this amp is rated at 45 watts RMS, which should be pushing them quite well. just wish I knew how to test the actual wattage at my speaker connections to ensure the amp is working correctly.
Pros: Easy to install, no need for extra wiring as with other amps. Compact size easily fits inside of my dashboard. Lots of length to the wires for ease of placement. Ample power to push most entry level speakers.
Cons: Cannot tell if amp is on or not as there is no indicator light. I guess that is because it's intended to be installed out of sight in your dash.
I bought this to add a bit of oomph to the Alpine CDE147BT HU I bought last year (this model is discontinued). I like that it's compact and has seamless connectivity to my HU. I was able to easily place it behind the temp control panel in my 4Runner-- it has little heat generation so you can stuff it pretty much anywhere. The power it adds is not substantial-- ~4db overall-- but i didn't want it to blast music, I just wanted to have my factory speakers push it out in all ranges a bit more at lower volumes. This amp it does. I'm happy with the sound-- if I wanted improvement I'd have to replace the factory speakers, which I'm unlikely to do with this vehicle. In general it has added depth and clarity to what is already a great sound from this head unit. I can't vouch for its overall power for those looking to blast the neighborhood from their car-- if I tried that I'd likely blow my factory speakers. But if that's what you're looking for, I'd start shopping for hearing aids since you're gonna need them, boyo. Installation was a breeze-- it's completely plug and play with alpine head units.
Pros: Easy to install Price Very small footprint Decent power boost for existing HU
Cons: None experienced at this point (1-2 months in)
Installation was as simple as plugging the amp in. The results far outweigh the cost and make my 4 Polk 6X9 speakers shine. The length of the provided wiring made it possible for me to place the amp in the glovebox which was not ideal but space behind the dash on my 02 Ranger is very limited. The improvement in sound is enough to make me hesitate to spring for a subwoofer.
Pros: Too easy to install - plug and play and forget This one is matched to many Alpine head units - do your homework Best for those who want better sounds in the car...maybe not for those who need to rattle rivets and spot welds loose.
Cons: zero cons...this is just a good deal
excellent amp, plug and play for alpine head units
Pros: good clean sound. doesn't get hot
Really makes my Polks sing out loud in my jeep.
Pros: Easy to install, just plug and play, its that easy.
Sounds Good, it really does. My car is a Honda Civic Si (2005) with an Alpine Stereo, and factory-installed speakers. My friend has since warned me that the new Power-Pack thing might damage my speakers down the line, something to do with the speakers receiving more power than they are designed for, even if I don't blast the volume. I've had the system in my car a few days now now and it sounds really good. If you don't think about it, or you're concentrating on stirring conversation with whoever else is in your car, you might not notice at first, but when you put on music that was recorded with quality, it sounds great. I should note that I'm listening to music through my ipod, which is connected to the Alpine stereo's USB jack.
Pros: Not expensive for audio equipt Sounds good.
Cons: If your car stereo gets stolen, it's an extra bummer. Not a night-and-day contrast to the factory install.
This is a beefy little mighty-mite. I shortened the wiring harnesses (using solder and heat-shrink tubing) and padded and mounted the unit to some of the dashboard framing to the left of the glovebox in my 2004 (non-Bose) Miata.
I connected the unit to an Alpine UTE-52BT head unit and ran the yellow battery lead over to a vacant 20-amp "audio amp" fuse socket in the under-dash fuse panel using an Add-a-Circuit adapter from Pep Boys, for power.
This thing really woke the stock speakers up; they play loudly and with excellent bass. Absolutely no complaints at all.
Pros: Compact and powerful. Easy to connect.
Cons: Not required, but to save space and lower impedances I chose to shorten the wiring harnesses to make it fit better, but that was no big deal.
Adds great sound quality to any Alpine headunit. Easy to install! Makes the radio sound that much better! Who doesn't like louder, better quality sound?
Pros: Easy install. Inexpensive compared with other 4-channel amps.
This is the perfect amp to seriously upgrade your system. It was simply plug and play with my alpine head unit. Up and running in under 10 minutes. This is not for thumping the trunk but for serious and very clean can only hear the music sound!
Pros: everything....its just right!
Cons: None, its just amazing.
Perfect for my truck, gives my new Alpine stereo just the right amount of punch and makes the music much more dynamic. Reasonable price
Pros: Ease of installation and being able to hide it behind the dash
Very user friendly and helpful instructions. Makes install a Breeze.
Pros: Good price. Great product.
Cons: No Cons
Way to easy to get the additional sound out of my Alpine CDE W235BT unit. I have a very basic install with 4 Alpine speakers so I was not sure the Amp would make a big difference. Wow it really does. I need to turn it up a tad to get full effect but not a problem. The first one I got with the head and speakers had issues. One phone call, 3 minutes on the phone and a new was delivered a day and a half later with return shipping stuff. Then came the reinstall....5 minutes back in business.
Pros: Easy to plug into Alpine Head. Great clean sound. Small with long wires for each side; easy to bundle or leave long for remote install. Oh and the great Crutchfield service and support. Basic simple instructions.
This was a great purchase and would recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade their stereo system.
Pros: Plug and play, easy to install. No headaches that come with a lot of products.
Really adds punch to your music, simple plug-in connections makes for easy installation. Very reasonable price for amount of watts.
Pros: Simple and powerful
Sounds great and love the simple installation...just plug and play.
Pros: Sound quality and ease of installation...
I added the Alpine power pack amp to my alpine HD radio HU , with four new Polk audio 6.5 coaxial speakers the new sounds in my 1999 camaro are impressive for the little amount of money invested, even with the top down I still get rich powerful sound, I think a sub woofer will be my next move to add that deep bass richness we all desire.the only con to the install was the fact that it wasn't an easy plug and play as advertised, if you own a camaro with the factory Monsoon stereo you have to remove the factory amp and run all new speaker wires it was a lot more work than I anticipated ,worth it but still a lot of work!
Pros: Nice sound ,minimum investment.
Cons: Not an easy plug n play install
This amp connected easily to my new Alpine UTE-52BT. It is great not running the amp to the battery through the firewall. It makes a big difference in the clarity and power of the sound. I do wish it had a gain control. Works great though.
Pros: Easy installation and really boosts sound.
Cons: I think the amp would benefit from having a gain control on it.
Great addition to my CDE-151 receiver, much better sound quality, easy to install, easy to understand wiring diagram, need to replace oem rear speakers on my truck now to get full benefit of power pack, Will be getting back to you guys on rear speakers. Thanks Crutchfield.
Pros: ease of installation, great instructions, sound quality and power, great buy for the money
Cons: used double sided tape on mine also to mount directly under dash on floor board. Purchased plastic flexible conduit to cover excess wire to unit, much better look and protection of wires.
Great product, easy install, long harness came in handy to remote mount
Adds a great punch to my system at an affordable pirce.
Pros: Super easy and fast installation.
Plug and play can not get any easier. Really brings life to your speakers
Pros: Plug and play, not very big
Great addition to my Alpine CDE-153BT radio purchase. The long wiring harnesses actually assisted in my installation. Without the extra length of these harnesses, I would have had to add extension wires to my H/U wiring harness. The power and clarity my H/U produces is amazing! I wish I had installed the H/U without the amp attached first so I could compare the output of the H/U before and after attaching the amp.
Pros: Quick connects are very convenient for installing harnesses. Small footprint made installing amp in hidden location quick and easy.
Cons: Including some double sided tape with this unit would have been handy. I could not figure out how to use the enclosed brackets so I purchased some thick double sided tape and taped the unit down in its final location.
Easy hook up, good power, excellent value. Wires are wayyyy too long but no big deal. All Alpine stuff makes it real easy and very inexpensive for what you get.
Pros: Good power, Easy connection.
Cons: A sub channel would be nice.
Excellent addition to my alpine radio. Runs a set of JL audio component speakers in the doors. Night and day difference. Really made these speakers shine. A must have for alpine radios to get the most out of your speakers.
Pros: Small. Mounts nearly anywhere. Just the right amount of power. Great value IMO
Cons: Got nothing
decent value for the money.. Don't buy this amp if you're looking for a high performance competition sound.. It did, however, upgrade my stock stereo to a very satisfactory level.. I would purchase again.
Pros: install was a snap with plug and play (paired with Alpine UTE52BT)
Cons: For my application, way too much wire. I did not want to cut and splice, so I've bundled them all together behind the dash.
I took a leap of faith in ordering this little amp. I had previously upgraded all my speakers and added a subwoofer in my '02 Ram single cab. I already had a 750w RMS amp, so I didn't feel like adding another one and doing all the wiring and use power and ground distribution blocks. It's just more work and way more expensive that way. Instead I decided to add the KTP-445A to my CDE-102 headunit and I am glad I did. My rear cabin speakers are rated at 45 watts and sound great. My door speakers are underpowered by 55 watts, but sound way better than they did before. I noticed things in some songs that I hadn't heard before. I used to play my music at 21 of 35, but now I keep it at 19. It sounds punchier and louder, but clear. Once I adjusted my crossovers and other settings, my speakers blended in perfectly with my sub. Had I known about this before I would've done it sooner. I didn't know what to expect, but now I can honestly recommend this to anyone. Hardest part is figuring out where to mount the amp. Crutchfield had a great price and I recieved the package on time as promised.
Pros: Ease of installation, Reasonably priced, Convenient, Build quality, Sound quality, Compact, Noticeable improvement
Cons: Harnesses are a little tricky to plug in. You just have to play with them and wiggle them until they click.
Bought this Power Pack to go with my 143BT for the reason that I did not want to install another large amp in the back of my 4Runner (due to storing my mountain bike in the back). I will admit, I had a hard time believing that this little package was going to supply enough power to make my Infinity components sound good. Heck, I come from the days where the heat sink on your amp was twice the size of the amp itself! No more, this unit delivers the clean and efficient power that I need to keep up with my JL audio 10" DVC sub. The connection was simple, and the wires were sufficient length. My only gripe is that the connections require a little "push" to ensure they are seated. Make sure you push in until you hear the "click".
Pros: Small size, good power, easy install.
Cons: Loose connector if you don't take the time to ensure you "click" them in. No gain control on the amp. Like I said, I am old school, and am used to adjusting my amp gains. I just need to get used to not having one. Not a big deal.
I have a 2013 Chevy Avalanche and the back seats lay down extending the length of the truck bed which is great but does not provide any room for amps or sub woofers in the back seat. There is very little space under the front seats so this little Alpine amp fit perfectly under the center console.
Pros: It is small and easy to fit in places with little space. The harnesses were plug and play with the Alpine head unit and the custom harness that came with the Alpine head unit from Crutchfield. Wiring literally took 20 seconds. The sound range and output levels were impressive for such a small package. A definite pro is that you don't have to run separate fused power to the battery like the bigger units.
Cons: Power is 45x 4 which is not heavy duty but for the average audiophile, it is sufficient.
Matched this up with an Alpine CDE-SXM145BT in my 2013 Mustang. Super install with just a few plugs. No splicing needed. This really lit things up. Good, strong power without having the normal distortion on the low end. Seems to me that as easy as this is to install, it's a no brainer to buy this for your Apline. I did not need to change any fuses either. Car electrical circuit runs this without issue.
Pros: Really adds some punch
Works pretty good. But at higher volumes it will make the type s speaker scream and start distorting even though they are suppose to be rated up to 75 watts rms.
Pros: Install is a breeze just plug and play only connections are to factory adapter plug which is also plug in after you are done. Size is micro small for an amp
Cons: No adjustments at all. None.
Just the right kick for my Alpine CDE-143BT. Small and easy to hide. Plug and play at it's finest
Pros: Long leads for easy locating just about anywhere under the dash.
Cons: Haven't found a con.
added to Alpine 143bt pushing Kicker KS5.25 speakers...the sound clarity is BRILLIANT. perfect upgrade for my 99 Wrangler. everything just comes alive...still can't believe the sound...just WOW
Pros: easy install plug and play small unit easy to hide easy 45 watts per channel perfect upgrade for those who want a nice little boost
Cons: none that I can think of
Lot of clean power in a compact package
Pros: Compact size, real clean power, easy to wire up
Purchased two units, one for my car and one for my daughter's car. Sound quality is excellent. Installation very easy. Had to return one of the units for a low level hum that developed after it was powered on about 10 minutes that could be heard when the volume was lowered to zero. Crutchfield replaced it with free shipping - awesome customer service! I have owned many Alpine products through the years and this is the first problem I have ever had - plan continue to buying Alpine products in the future.
Pros: Great sound, build quality - awesome customer service from Crutchfield.
If your alpine is new enough to use the power pack buy it! Well worth the money, I would buy it again with out a second thought, it has just enough power to keep the door speakers up with a sub, and its clean power and such a easy install!
Pros: Easy install, lots of power for such a small unit, plug and jam lol!
Cons: None if your thinki,g about it just get it, no regrets here!
I needed just a little more power out of my Alpine head unit but I am very limited on space in a jeep TJ. This fit the bill perfect
Pros: Small size, easy to install
Cons: Included harness is a little long
Great little amp more than twice the power my head unit was putting out. .really helped the bass out...just plug in and go doesn't get any easier than that
Great product for my needs. I just needed a small amp to power the speakers I installed in my wrangler and this was perfect. I'm no car audio expert so the plug and play set up was ideal, and the result in the sound was well worth the money. It's small in size so you can easily conceal it, and the wiring is plenty long to put it in just about any location.
Pros: Plug and play, size, performance, and the price is reasonable.
Cons: It would be nice if it was a little more powerful
Love how the amp help the sound of the system
Pros: Simple to install Great sound Wiring very simple
Cons: Wish that the price was lower
Easy install. Great sound
Pros: Subtle music quality improvement. Easy hook-up. Very nice to not deal with extra batt.- power wire. Or ground!
Cons: Too much and too long wiring harness's for placing behind head unit. Almost did not fit cause of bulky wire overlapping.... Optional short wires would be appreciated !
Very satisfied with product, got this pushing alpine type s components in the front and coaxials in the rear and they scream....
I have to say it packs a nice little punch for running your basic speakers in your system,
Pros: easy to install, supplies plenty of power for your highs
Great little amp for adding some umph to you music. Install is a snap! " Snap here snap there Done! Now I have to upgrade my Alpine HU to take advantage of the low pass high pass crossover.
Pros: Increase in sound clarity. Easily to install.
I installed this with an alpine 149bt. The 1st unit from alpine was doa. The second had a high pitch whine that I'm certain is picking up noise from the fan in the alpine head unit. It sounds fine but cuts out well before clipping. The head unit power is cleaner all the way up to distortion. I tried running extra power and ground but nothing helped. I think this unit would work better with a lower powered head unit. I have been installing for years and love alpine, but this one didn't work out for me. Will install a normal 4 channel amp from alpine. Just dread the wiring. Ugh.
Pros: Very simple installation
Cons: Did not match well with the alpine 149bt
Competent piece of equipment. Not going to shake the car apart. Will help at highway speeds and loud metro areas. Made idiot proof ( note oem radio fuse MUST be 15 amp) , install takes no time at all, just wire routing in dash.
Pros: Simple, Simple install. Small form factor. Long wires (con to some)
Easy to install and hide. Adds much better power to my Alpine head. It's not a 'monster' amp, but I was not expecting it to be either. I read many of the reviews here prior to purchase and had a pretty good idea what to expect. Of course now it has me thinking I should add a small sub in my truck.........
Pros: Economical, easy to install, nice power boost
Easy to install, easy to hide. This is a sweet way to bring a bit more boom to a basic installation for a minimal investment!
Pros: So easy a caveman can do it.
Excellent amp combined with an alpine unit. Fits in a small space and wires into the radio with ease. Makes the alpine unit sound better than a new high end car radio.
Pros: Small, good sound quality.
Cons: Amplifies some white noise.
This was purchased for me as a Christmas present at the Crutchfield store in Charlottesville. The new store is pretty cool with basically a touchscreen version of the website on every display table. It makes it really easy to compare product specs. The salesmen are attentive but not too pushy. My only knock of the store are that it doesn't come close to displaying all their available items, and you can't test most of the stuff (including speakers) out.
Installation of the amp went pretty well. It's as easy as pulling out your head unit, unplugging it from the car, finding a good spot for the amp, then wiring the amp between the head unit and the car. It took me about 30 minutes total. 20 minutes of that was spent wedging the amp into a very tight spot behind the dash. Installers beware - the plugs on the wiring harnesses do not fit securely, that is, they don't "click" in, I had everything reassembled after testing only to find that my signal was going in and out due to a poorly connected harness.
The sound is a huge improvement over my HD137BT's internal sound. I guess my speakers were actually capable of much more. The sound is richer, the bass fuller and less prone to distortion. The best part is how much better it sounds at low volume. I found myself turning up the volume before just to get more bass. Not necessary now. Overall, I'd say the power pack is a great value, especially if you don't want to get into a much more complex install involving a traditional amp.
Pros: Ease of installation Small Size Ample supplied wiring clean sound
Cons: Connectors do not click like you would expect
easy to hook up.
Pros: Plenty of power for me.
Already had Alpine receiver in so connection was incredibly easy. Added power makes the Polk Audio 6.5" speakers perform well.
Pros: Easy install. Instant power increase over factory receiver.
Cons: Nothing wrong with product or directions. Feel like better tech support after purchase of Alpine receiver would have eliminated this purchase.
great addition to unit
Fantastic little amplifier; Installed with the Alpine CDE-143BT in a 2010 Ford Focus SE running the stock speakers (no stock sub). I didn't test the setup without the amp, but at the moment I only need to turn the receiver up to about 10 volume wise to achieve great sound, at a volume loud enough to distinguish vocals from outside the car with the doors closed. I had to run the this through a PAC C2R-FRD1 before outputting to the speakers, but so far the adapter has had no compatibility issues and runs perfectly.
Pros: Small, Mountable virtually anywhere, 45Wx4 with no connections other than to the back of the radio!
Cons: There is at least a foot, possible more of spare wire on each side, but in some cases this may be a pro.
Great amp for being small. Very easy to install and hide
Pros: adds a lot of sound for a small amp. Small, easy to install
Works great with a nice clean sound. I hide the amp under the dash of a Jeep Wrangler JK.
Pros: I attached this to a Alpine head unit. I could not have been easier to install.
Easy install... plug and play!
Pros: Plug and play with supplied wiring harness. Powerful wattage driving to your speakers.
Cons: None so far!
Stupid easy to install!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Provides plenty of power without pissing off the neighbors because your rattling their pictures on the wall.
Cons: Now I have to come up with the money to buy a set of 8 inch low profile subwoofers to put under the front seats of my 04 Dodge Dakota club cab
Great little amp! I was in the market to upgrade my factory sound system in my car and didn't want to go crazy with amp wiring, etc, etc. Upon opening the box I was still shocked at how small this amp was. Due to this I was able to easily locate it on the inside drivers side part of my Civic's dash board with zip ties. I did not want to use the little mounting brackets because they just weren't the best option for me. Powering 4 Polk 6.5 coaxials this little amp works these speakers out! Sound is great!
Pros: Small package, great sound, easy installation.
Cons: None for me
I installed a CDE-HD149BT head unit and initially I was going to send this amp back because I thought it wasn't needed. Then I decided to try it and well, it's a keeper. It doesn't add appreciably to the noise or distortion and it provides about 3dB more output than the head unit alone. This is just what I needed to get that little extra oomph. The installation couldn't be easier. It's literally plug and play...LOUDER! lol
Pros: Reasonable cost and a no-brainer installation.
Cons: No nits to pick here.
Good amp for its size works only draw back is high inputs makes it sensitive volume
Pros: Easy to hook up convenient amp
Easy to install. I hid mine behind the carpet in the passenger floorboard up near the dash. I didn't try out the Alpine 143BT head unit before installing this so I am not sure of the amount of improvement. The sound is nice and full.
Pros: Plug and Play
Compact amplifier is simple to install and works great. Uses the same power as the Alpine receiver. Not overly powerful (45 Watts/channel) but adds a lot of dimension to the sound. I get much more out of my MOMO speakers.
Pros: Super easy to install. Made to work with many Alpine receivers.
Cons: Low power. No "thumping" bass (but I don't really need that anyway, not trying to wake up the neighborhood).
Super simple installation with plenty of wire length. Absolutely clear sounding with plenty of amplification.
Pros: Ease of installation. Clear sound. Great amplification.
Makes my Alpine CDE-147BT sound that much better. I tested first by having my HU powering all my Alpine speakers in my Silverado, and then adding this plug-n-play pack. I hear the difference. Sounds louder at a lower volume level, and when I turn it up- the sound is clean and much clearer than just powering my speakers off of the HU. I know it's do to the fact that my aftermarket speakers need more RMS power, and this unit does it. But amplifying your speakers with an external amp(other brand) doesn't guarantee that they'll sound good. With this addition, it reassures me that I'm getting the best sound out of my speakers. An I can say that, because I can tell. An yes, I'm sure the sound coming out of the HU would of been fine, but adding this power pack makes my music experience that much better!
Also , the cost to amplify the sound out of your speakers with this unit is less expensive than to have to buy: a amp(costs more), wiring kit, RCA cables, and maybe a new battery terminal to connect the power gauge wire to the amp from the battery. An at the end- the headache of installing and running power wires to a amp with a vehicle that might not be so installer friendly.
Pros: 45 watts RMS power by 4 channels, with very easy installation. Clean sound at any volume level. If you can install a reciever in your vehicle, you can install this!
Cons: Depending on where you going to install this unit, you might find that you have way more provided cable than needed. Zip tie and tuck rest of the wiring out of the way. Funny, because it's the only "con" I could think of.
great little amp easy install
I thought my alpine unit (CDE-145 BT) had good sound with my speakers (Kenwoods in the front Infinity Reference) in the back, but this little baby gave those same speakers some pop! Now I don't have to crank them up just to hear subtle notes bot when I want to crank it, I got clean, crisp, clear rockin' sound. This little baby will NOT disappoint.
Pros: easy to install, plugs right in the Alpine units; no extra wiring; long enough wiring to remote mount.
Cons: none I can think of
The size is great. Fits just about any where. Plug and play makes it super easy.
Pros: Size and plug and play
I bought the alpine head unit cde-143bt to replace an old pioneer deck and wanted to try a little more power to push my 6 polk speakers that didn't have good sound quality with my sub. this small unit was everything I dreamed of without buying a big amp.. this little amp has brought my polks alive !!! the sound is perfect even pushing 6 spkers. the polks have punch to them now and beautiful sound quality. I am done !!! I have an suv with 2 dash spkers and 4 61/2 door spkers. I also have an amp and 12 inch ported sub. I'm 58 and a music lover and this is the best sounding unit I have ever had ! the great sound comes through with any kind of music! the power is there now. thank you for the great service and all the advice over the phone. your advisors need to listen a little better though. I had to splice my new deck in because he said I shouldn't need anything since I had a pioneer being replaced. no problem though. the install went great and I am very pleased. thanks again.
Pros: drives 6 polks with no problem. power and sound quality is great
Cons: way to much wires to stuff up in my dash, but I see why alpine has it.
I decided on this amp because I wanted something that would give me a good boost in sound, with minimal hassle. This amp does exactly what you'd think. It gives me clear, distinct sound from my front & rear aftermarket speakers. The separation between channels is great, the bass and highs are much more vibrant than before at both low and high volumes. If you're looking for a nice addition from a great company at minimal cost, I would definitely recommend this amplifier.
Pros: Cost, ease of installation, Alpine name, Sound quality.
Easiest amp I have ever installed
Pros: Nice power as soon as you turn it on. Easy pass through install.
I own an Alpine head unit that needed a little more umph to push the 6.5 components in the front doors, along with the alpine 6.5's in the rear deck. The alpine sounded pretty good alone, but with the addition of the KTP-445, wow, what a way to wakeup the sound and definition of the music, with moderate volume.
Pros: The clarity and power in such a small package is amazing. I just plugged it in, and was done.
its worth the money spent, they make your speakers sound awesome, and its very easy to install, I put it in my 05 ford focus and paired it with alpine 5x7 speakers makes them sounds great lots of bass
very easy to hook up, specially with an alpine deck.
Pros: Easy hook up, compact and good clean power.
Cons: No gain control.
Nice addition for Alpine in-dash receivers. Really make my JL Audio speakers drive.
Recently installed the KTP-445A and it sounds great. Very easy to install and the sound has come to life. A very noticeable difference and well worth the money.
Pros: Small and fits in the dash easily. Sounds great, big improvement.
Very impressive sound from this amp installed with Alpine CDE-134BT head unit. The combo is powering Polk audio db651's in my front doors and Polk db461's in the rear pillar of my 99 GMC Sierra Reg Cab. Sound is very clear and loud. Install was easy with included parts from Crutchfield.
Pros: Great quality, easy install, inexpensive.
My wife wanted it LOUD! So I ordered this to go with her Alpine 137bt. All I can say is WOW is it LOUD. For the price and it's a class D amp that you can fit in the dash. Awesome Amp.
Pros: I'm powering 4 6X9's with the Alpine KTP-445A Power Pack and it's more power then needed for them.
Great little amp with plenty off power to rock your ride.i love how small this amp is it fit right behind my Alpine head unit.I also like how it plugs right into the head unit with no extra cables to run. The amp cranks out nice clear distortion free power it fill your ride with quality clear music. I would Definitely recommend this amp.
Pros: Gives your head unit a lot more distortion free power Size Ease of installation
Cons: Cables are a little to long
I will start this off by saying i have been a car audio enthusiast for 17 years. Have bought and used every brand, size, shape of stereos, speakers, subs out there. Havent been in the scene in a few years and decided to get back intoit but with a more grown up aproach this time, so. Opted for an 8" fosgate punch 2 subwoofer, memphis coaxials front and rear, the sub over powered the mids and highs even tho its an 8, wantd something to blend the rest of the system to the sub without goin crazy and buying another amp, this thing does that just perfect, not a huge impact as of i added processors and kultiple external amps, but a difference that anyone with an ear for sound can tell, the clarity this alpine amp provides to the memphis coaxials is amazing, the depth is there like it should be, clean, clear, crisp is what you should expect out of a set of aftermarket speakers and thats what alpine has done with this little beauty, and the ease of installation is well, just that, easy, unplug radio harness, plug into harness for amp, take the other harness on amp, plug into radio, simple as that. Zip tie or screw unti to something stable, and bam, you are done, thanks alpine for an awesome product, and thanks Crutchfield for the fast delivery!
Pros: Easy install, superb clarity
This is the easiest amp you will ever install. Probably not the best sound quality but its better than no amp.
Pros: Easy to install
My Alpine head unit just didn't have the power to drive /match my 10-inch bazooka sub. I really didn't want to downsize the sub and my technical expertise does NOT extend to a full up amp installation.
So, imagine my joy when first reading about this Alpine add-on amp.
It took me about 30 minutes to install (mainly because running the wires had to go through tight spaces behind the dash of an 06 Honda Civic Si hatchback). The unit fit neatly behind the dash. It is so small that I was able to install it with a piece of extra strength Velcro.
The sound difference takes a bit of getting used to; by that I mean, there is not an overwhelming change BUT adjustments to the bass and treble are more noitcable and the volume can be set at "9-11" instead of "18-21". This allows the head unit to urilize the "Loudness" function providing a richer, full bodied sound.
Pros: Small size. Ease of installation. Plug and play installation for compatable head units. Price.
Cons: Can only be used with Alpine units (?)
Sounds great and could not be easier to install.
Pros: Easy install, very compact and better sound quality at lower levels.
Great addition to my CDE-102 head unit. It drives the MTX 6 1/2 Terminators separates quite nicely. Super clean sounding
Pros: great sound
Cons: to much wiring for under dash install.
Big difference in sound quality and deepness.
I waited a while for this unit to become available and am glad I did. The speakers I bought are very efficient but an external amp helps them sound their best especially at lower listening levels. This amp with it's plug and play feature was very easy to install and gives me plenty of oomph and kept me within my budget. If you're considering an Alpine head unit, you won't regret adding this amp.
Pros: Easy plug and play install and small enough to place almost anywhere. Does what it says.
What a great item for someone that is looking just to have a better sounding stereo without over the top Amps.
Pros: Easy to install and hook up. Plug and play.
I bought this amp to go with an Alpine head unit to install in my 61 Buick. It has all the power I need, and is extremely clean in delivery with a wide range of music. The compact size makes it easy to locate, and it looks & feels like a quality component.
Pros: Very clean sound offering plenty of power at a budget price.
Cons: The attachment points do not offer much flexibility for mounting.
Received the unit sooner than expected due to it being backordered - a nice surprise. Very nice build quality; all-metal construction, heavy enough to say "I represent quality", but not so heavy as to be unwieldy. Wire harness connectors leave a little to be desired - they came loose during testing. Make sure they're seated firmly as they don't "click" as obviously as you might expect. Otherwise, installation is ridiculously simple: Unplug the wire harness from the back of the head unit and stick the power pack in between that connection, using the cables that came with the power pack. Then figure out where you're going to hide the power pack and cable-tie the excess wire length. You're done, unless your deck isn't Alpine; then you'll need to splice a few wires.
On volume: Prior to installing this power pack, turning up my Alpine CDE-HD149BT beyond 15 was a little straining on the ears; turning the head unit up beyond 18 was just plain uncomfortable. After the install, everything just sounded... better. Less ear fatigue when listening at higher volumes!
On quality: Cleaner, crisper sound... it even sounded a little brighter than before, and that's with factory 6.5" door speakers and 1" tweeters. I didn't need extra volume, but I can hear a clear difference in quality and clarity that simply wasn't there before. And it's nice to know I can get the added volume when I want it, such as when leaving the doors open when working outside.
Pros: - Well-built and attractive - Small, fits almost anywhere (Mine went into a space inside the dash, under the head unit.) - Increases maximum volume - Improves sound clarity, which reduces ear fatigue at higher volumes - Literally "plug and play" - comes with everything needed, assuming you have an Alpine deck. If not, splice a few wires and you're done. - No need for complex door speaker amp installs; this is only 5 watts less per channel than a 4-channel amp, and FAR easier to install!
Cons: - Cable length was about 2-3 times longer than I needed for my install... but this is a good thing for some installs, and it comes with cable ties and mounting brackets in case you need them. Not a real "con" in my book.
Got my new KTP-445A yesterday via UPS - as usual, very quick shipping by the good folks at Crutchfield. After working hours, I was able to install the unit in my 2007 Jetta Wolfsburg, connected to my CDE HD137BT in <15 minutes, including the time required to disassemble/reassemble the dash. The unit fit behind the radio without issue. I was pleasantly surprised when I shut the doors and "test fired" the new configuration - not massive volume boosts, but I was able to get considerably more volume before audible distortion after the installation. 18W to 45W per channel in 15m - amazing. Overall an amazing buy and a worthwhile investment for my humble audio system. I don't necessarily need (or want) it bone rattling loud - just clean with good frequency response across the board - this amp delivers that cleanly, accurately and with minimal installation efforts.
Pros: Fits most anywhere Long harness leads Solid locking connectors Easy installation Great clarity
Cons: No more adjustable levels (though I'd have probably run them at max output and let the HU make the changes...)

Overview: The Alpine KTP-445A Head Unit Power Pack is an easy-to-install power upgrade amplifier that allows you to add higher output and more dynamic response to your Alpine head unit. The KTP-445A amplifies your Alpine head unit's power output, resulting in a 150% power increase over the original power from the head unit's built-in amplifier.
- Because of its high-powered amplifier design, the Alpine KTP-445A does require that a separate +12V constant power wire is run to the battery with a separate inline 15A fuse in vehicles with lower than a 15A fuse protecting the factory radio. Check out the "Accessories" tab for wiring kit.
- This Alpine high-powered amp won't work in systems where an outboard factory amplifier is still active. If used in vehicles with a factory amplifier, the factory amp will need to be completely bypassed (this may result in lost speaker channels, if factory amp has more than 4 channels).
- The increase in power may result in a louder warning chime in certain vehicles.
Compatibility: The KTP-445A connects to any 2005 and newer Alpine head unit that has a black 16-pin wiring harness. Please check with your Crutchfield Product Advisor to confirm compatibility.
45 Watt x 4 Channel Amplifier: The Alpine KTP-445A Head Unit Power Pack employs a 45 watt x 4 channel amplifier. The amplifier offers an unbelievably low noise floor, taking extra care to ensure a clean signal path, with no extraneous interference. The end result is a 1 Watt Signal-to-Noise Ratio of 82dB or better. Uniquely, the amplifier distortion actually decreases at higher frequencies, resulting in a clean and clear signal where your ear is most sensitive to distortion.
Note: The specifications given by Alpine for the built-in amplifier comply with the CEA-2006 mobile amplifier power testing and measurement standards from the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). All manufacturers who comply with the standard can display the CEA-2006 logo on their product.
Installation: Since the KTP-445A is small and compact, it installs behind your Alpine head unit in the dash of most vehicles. Installation is simple with no special tuning. The 39" grey connector harness plugs into one end of the Head Unit Power Pack and connects to the rear plug on your Alpine head unit. The 31" black connector harness plugs into the other end of the Head Unit Power Pack and connects to your Alpine receiver's harness (included with your Alpine receiver). You will need to splice or crimp the wires from the Alpine receiver's harness to a Crutchfield vehicle harness adapter (sold separately).
Note: The factory radio circuit needs to be a minimum of 15A. If it is not, a separate power and ground will need to be installed for the KTP-445A
Needed to power the speakers to their full potential. [ bruce Feb 03, 2016 ]
I have two alpine receivers that this product will work with. [ Cordie Jan 23, 2016 ]
I usually don't amp my door speakers because I never turn my deck volume up past half way. 18w RMS is loud enough and I don't need to be heard 3 blocks away. However I agree that 18w RMS isn't enough to get the full potential out of a speaker. I chose this amp because it is a easy install inline with an Alpine deck not requiring power and ground cables and running or splicing speaker wire to the door speakers. [ Mark Jan 18, 2016 ]
My entire system is alpine i want more power for my system for the summer [ Robert Jan 10, 2016 ]

To add extra amps, over amps produced by new head unit. Also because it's an Alpine, the plug n play to another Alpine head unit was flawless! [ Richard Dec 17, 2015 ]
I wanted to add a little boost to my Infinity Reference speakers without spending too much. Just to give me an idea of the potential of my speakers, while i try to decide if I want to upgrade or not. It was at a reasonable price and I have a compatible Alpine head unit. Plus I was curious to see how it performed versus an average sized amp. [ Gilberto Dec 16, 2015 ]
Great audio and easy install. [ Don Dec 12, 2015 ]
No. First of all; the Alpine KTP-445A model is for use with compatible aftermarket car stereos only. Unless you have a compatible Alpine, you'll need to use the KTP-445U model instead: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KTP445U/item.html This power pack offers "Speaker Level Inputs" so an external Line Output Converter is not required to get the audio signal into the amp. If you decide to add a subwoofer and the amp you select does not offer the speaker level inputs, you can use the Audio Control LC2i converter to supply signal (RCA) and remote turn-on for the amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LC2I/item.html I hope that helps! I am not sure. i bought mine to power a new Alpine receiver because it was definitely plug n play. I would check and see if they have a pioneer to alpine harness converter. At at the same time, i put the Alpine power pack in with the receiver, Crutchfield sent me a factory to alpine harness converter that made the receiver plug n play. Best i can offer. [ VINCENT E Jan 08, 2016 ]
I don't think so alpine does not have the same connector Enter an answer to this question. [ MARK Jan 08, 2016 ]
No it's a plug and play for alpine [ DAVID Jan 08, 2016 ]
Just plug in and play [ ALEX Dec 26, 2015 ]
I would contact a Crutchfield advisor. While I think it is designed take take in a high-level input and should work with any speaker output on a radio, Alpine says it is designed to work with certain Alpine head units from 2005 and later. Honestly, I think you'd be better off with an Alpine 4-channel amp that you can install under the seat. Most of them can take a high-level input and will have better performance than the Power Pack. With either type of amp, you still need to run a power wire from the battery, so I don't think you're saving anything by choosing the Alpine Power Pack. [ RICHARD Dec 19, 2015 ]
Yes. Your receiver has 6 sets of pre-amp outputs and will work great with this amp. [ Jeff Dec 04, 2015 ] Staff

Amp does not get hot...and I have it stuffed in the dash of a jeep tj. Great product. Would recommend. As far as speakers, I always go with a company that only makes speakers. Such as Infiniti or Polk audio. That's my preference. [ LANCE E Apr 07, 2015 ]
I installed mine in a 2008 F-150 and basically just laid it in the open space in the dash behind the CD receiver. I live in Florida and have experienced no issues with it in almost 2 years. Sorry, I can't speak about your impedance issue but it seems close enough to not matter. [ GLENN Apr 02, 2015 ]

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Yes, the KTP-445A amplifier is compatible with the Alpine ILX-007 head unit. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Dec 05, 2014 ] Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: No, you will not be able to use that particular model. You will need the Alpine KTP-445U (500KTP445U) to use with your Kenwood receiver. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. I have been told it can be used with any unit but it requires knowledge of which wires go to which point. Alpine used to make a universal amp just like this one that had open wiring [ JOEY Nov 12, 2014 ]
You can make it work by way of a universal adaptor that crutch field sells [ JOE Nov 12, 2014 ]
You would need the wiring diagrams for both. But it should be possible, maybe with an adapter. The size of it makes it really convenient to hide. [ BENJAMIN Nov 12, 2014 ]
When I boug mine there were two different power packs. One works only with alpine units, the other works with any unit. [ PHILIP M Nov 12, 2014 ]
Since I installed this over a year ago, I can't be for sure but I do not recall any form of channel adjustment on my model. [ RANDY Sep 21, 2014 ]
There aren't any gain settings on the unit itself Travis. It's just a straight 45 watts per channel to your speakers. The best sound will be if you have speakers that are matched to that. Or closely matched. I bought an entire package from crutchfield which included four infinity speakers that are around that wattage. I prefer to always buy speakers from a company that just manufactures speakers. Infinity, Polk audio, Altec Lansing, etc. Hope this message helped. Lance [ LANCE E Sep 21, 2014 ]
There are no adjustments settings on this amp. I will say that the default settings on this would be equivalent to a "high" setting on an amp that is adjustable. On my INE-S920HD head unit, before turning the head unit's gain to the lowest setting, the volume would max out at volume level 10 (the volume goes to 40 or 50). With the gain all the way down it screams at level 20. I am running this amp with eight speakers. 2 5" polk audio db501's per channel (8 speakers total at 2ohms per channel). This little amp is bomb proof, rock solid, and sounds amazing. [ TONY M Sep 21, 2014 ]
yes you do. the unit plugs into the alpine wire harness from the head unit. I would recommend buying a head unit wih this power pack it all works exellent together. No running power wires, speaker wires ect. if you purchase a traditional style amp. Hope this helps [ CHRIS T Sep 15, 2014 ]
No you do not you can either hard wire it to your receiver or buy an adapter plug the amp comes with directions on the wiring process that is very easy to understand [ JOE Sep 15, 2014 ]
No I run it off a JVC receiver. [ DUSTIN J Sep 14, 2014 ]
Nope, it has RCA type inputs for the preouts of any receiver. connects just like any other amplifier... [ PAUL Sep 14, 2014 ]
Yes u need an alpine receiver to use this [ DEREK Sep 14, 2014 ]
It only works with alpine [ DAVID Sep 14, 2014 ]
Good Morning, My installation did not require any seperate wire to the fuse panel or battery. I connected the amp to the factory wiring and the stereo (apline) to the amp. pretty simple install. [ ALEJANDRO May 03, 2014 ]
No, just plug it in and your fine [ JASON May 02, 2014 ]
No I did not run a separate wire, the radio power is fused. I have not had any issues. [ KEVIN May 02, 2014 ]
I'm confused in which fuse does the product overview refer to? Is it the 20A on instrument panel? or 10A on the Head unit fuse holder? [ ferdinan May 02, 2014 ]
Yes. This Power Pack will work with the Alpine CDE-123 CD Receiver. [ Jeff May 01, 2014 ] Staff

You will have to bypass the factory amplifier to use this product. See the product research section on this product's page at Crutchfield's website. [ RICHARD Dec 19, 2015 ]
I would imagine the techs at Crutchfield could answer this better than I, but I believe you cannot connect amplifiers in tandem without some seriously advanced circuitry. The Alpine power pack should take care of your needs anyways, so go ahead and disconnect your factory amp. [ BRAD W Mar 03, 2014 ]
I baught one and i unplugged the wiring harness from the back of the stereo into the powerpack and then the powerpack to the stereo. It cannot be any easier. [ VICTOR Feb 28, 2014 ]
Hi David, I did not get to use this product. I bought it with the guidance of Crutchfield tech support and I feel I did not get the correct advise. when I bought the unit I gave the make and model of my car with some other details. Since I had done all the rewiring for the Alpine head unit before I was told that I could just plug it in line with my set up. What they overlooked was that I already had a factory installed amp. When I installed the power pack it blew out a couple of circuit breakers because both amps were on line. I disconnected the power pack and returned it and continue to use the factory amp with the Alpine head unit and it works great. Sorry I could not be more help. [ FELIPE Feb 28, 2014 ]
U cannot run a 2nd amp in your truck. ...short of some really fancy wiring that a electronics engineer would have to do some head scratch'n. My 99 dodge with the infinity system was a bleedn nightmare trying to hook it up. Finally, I pulled the amps(located on the speakers) replaced everything w after market wires, speakers, head unit, and amp. The good news is, you will absolutely love the sound. Best of all my trucks is the alpine amp setup. Good luck JJ [ JACK Feb 28, 2014 ]
I have an 07 gmc sierra classic. I'm going to purchase an alpine head unit to replace the factory radio. Will this power pack be compatible with my truck? [ robby Apr 20, 2014 ]
