Keep your factory look and controls

This Perfect Fit package lets you install an oversized Alpine navigation receiver while keeping your factory look. The package contains a dash kit that's been specially designed to make the Alpine's big 8" screen look right at home in your 2008-up Escape or 2008-10 Mariner, even models with the SYNC system.

Alpine Perfect Fit

Plug it in and go

You'll need to hardwire your new Alpine to the car's parking brake, but the rest is easy. The included wiring harness plugs directly from the Alpine receiver into your vehicle's factory wiring harness — no extra splicing or soldering needed. The package also includes a steering wheel audio control interface — no programming necessary, just plug it in and go. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: This Perfect Fit package will allow you to control the Alpine receiver with the steering wheel audio controls in your vehicle. It will not retain the factory Bluetooth functionality on your steering wheel, including SYNC and hands-free phone calls. It will not work with factory Sirius and XM satellite radio tuners.

Features

Perfect F.I.T. Installation Packages: Because of its large 8" touchscreen LCD monitor, the Alpine INE-Z928HD in-dash multimedia-navigation head unit (500INEZ928, sold separately) will not fit a standard Single-DIN or Double-DIN dash opening. To accommodate this large screen in your vehicle's dash, Alpine offers a line of Perfect Factory Integration Technology (F.I.T.) packages specifically for the INE-Z928HD. Alpine's Perfect F.I.T. installation packages allow the INE-Z928HD to fit seamlessly into select vehicle dashes. Perfect F.I.T. is designed to cosmetically match the shape, color and texture of the vehicle's interior. The Perfect F.I.T. installation package come with all necessary accessories for the installation of the INE-Z928HD, including an Alpine/vehicle-specific harness, antenna adapter, Alpine-specific steering wheel interface, and BUS adapter (if necessary). A variety of new kits, representing popular U.S. vehicles, are available.

Compatibility: The Alpine KTX-ECP8 Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package allows seamless integration of the Alpine INE-Z928 multimedia-navigation head unit in select 2008-up Ford Escapes. Also compatible with the 2008-2011 Mercury Mariner and 2008-2011 Mazda Tribute. This Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package will not retain the factory SYNC system, factory Bluetooth functionality, or factory SiriusXM satellite radio tuners.

Note: As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

OEM-Like Appearance: The KTX-ECP8 Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package has been specifically fitted and engineered to fit select 2008-up Ford Escapes perfectly. It comes with a specially formed OEM-grade, high quality/high strength ABS plastic radio housing that is color matched to the dash. This allows the unit to precisely fit not only the vehicle, but also the Alpine INE-Z928 navigation receiver. In addition, extra care is taken to match the factory dash's shape, texture, and color ensuring a more OEM-like appearance. Unlike traditional universal dash kits, the Alpine Perfect F.I.T. packages include direct fit OEM-like brackets to ensure sturdy support and accurate positioning of the radio in your vehicle's dash.

Vehicle+Radio Harness: This Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package comes with a vehicle+radio harness for simple installation between the Alpine INE-Z928HD and your 2008-up Ford Escape. You get all the necessary harnesses and adapters in the box to install the Alpine INE-Z928HD navigation receiver in your 2008-up Ford Escape.

Note: The vehicle+radio harness contains three Molex connectors which plug into your Ford Escape's factory radio harness. On the same end of the harness is a 10-pin connector which plugs into the included Ford stereo replacement interface module (KCX-SRMFD). On the other end of the harness is a 16-pin Alpine radio connector which plugs into the radio connector port on the back of the Alpine INE-Z928HD navigation receiver. There is also a mono-sub RCA connector and stereo AUX input connector which plugs into the corresponding ports on the Alpine INE-Z928HD. In addition, you will need to make two hardwired connections between the supplied vehicle+radio harness and your vehicle's Parking brake (Yellow/blue) and Foot brake (Yellow/black). There is a remote turn-on lead (Blue/white) to connect an aftermarket amplifier.

Steering Wheel Controls: The Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package also includes a steering wheel remote interface cable (KCX-SWCFD). For 2008-up Ford Escapes with factory steering wheel audio controls, the KTX-ECP8 retains the capability to control the Alpine INE-Z928HD navigation receiver's volume, source, and playback controls. There is no additional programming required, simply plug & play.

Note: The 3.5mm connector of the steering wheel remote interface cable plugs into the 3.5mm remote input of the Alpine INE-Z928HD.

Fits 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid

Written By MarkT, Chicago, Il on Sunday, September 30, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Contrary to Crutchfield's advice, this will work in a 2009 Ford Escape. The box actually read 2008+. Excellent fit and finish except the dash kit was black, not beige as pictured. Fortunately I had other black trim pieces and it didn't matter. The steering wheel controls also work very well without any lag. This is worth the full price

Pros: Fit/finish No lag on steering interface

Cons: -Unable to reuse existing Sync bluetooth microphone -No VSS wire in kit

Crutchfield response on Wednesday, October 03, 2012 Thanks for your review. We took another look at the product and confirmed that it will work with the 2008 and 2009 model years. We are updating our presentation accordingly.
