Alpine Perfect Fit

Plug it in and go

You'll need to hardwire your new Alpine to the car's parking brake, but the rest is easy. The included wiring harness plugs directly from the Alpine receiver into your vehicle's factory wiring harness — no extra splicing or soldering needed. The package also includes a steering wheel audio control interface — no programming necessary, just plug it in and go. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: This Perfect Fit kit will allow you to control the Alpine receiver with the steering wheel audio controls in your vehicle. It will not retain the factory Bluetooth functionality on your steering wheel, including SYNC and hands-free phone calls. It will not work with factory Sirius and XM satellite radio tuners.

Features

Perfect F.I.T. Installation Packages: The Alpine in-dash navigation receivers with an 8" LCD touchscreen will not fit a standard Single-DIN or Double-DIN dash opening. To accommodate this large screen in your vehicle's dash, Alpine offers a line of Perfect Factory Integration Technology (F.I.T.) packages specifically for these receivers. Alpine's Perfect F.I.T. installation packages allow the Alpine navigation receiver with 8" LCD touchscreen to fit seamlessly into select vehicle dashes. Perfect F.I.T. is designed to cosmetically match the shape, color and texture of the vehicle's interior.

Compatibility: The Alpine KTX-MTG8 Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package allows seamless integration of the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen navigation head unit in select 2010-up Ford Mustangs (non-navigation). This Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package will not retain the factory SYNC system, factory Bluetooth functionality, or factory SiriusXM satellite radio tuners.

Note: As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

OEM-Like Appearance: The KTX-MTG8 Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package has been specifically fitted and engineered to fit select 2010-up Ford Mustangs perfectly. It comes with a specially formed OEM-grade, high quality/high strength ABS plastic radio housing that is color matched to the dash. This allows the unit to precisely fit not only the vehicle, but also the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen navigation receiver. In addition, extra care is taken to match the factory dash's shape, texture, and color ensuring a more OEM-like appearance. Unlike traditional universal dash kits, the Alpine Perfect F.I.T. packages include direct fit OEM-like brackets to ensure sturdy support and accurate positioning of the radio in your vehicle's dash.

Climate & Convenience Control Touchscreen: The KTX-MTG8 features an integrated touchscreen interface and push-button controls that replace the factory climate, convenience, and personalization controls built-in your Ford Mustang's factory radio. This solution provides improved ergonomics while adding touchscreen capabilities unique to this system. The touchscreen interface and push-button controls provide the following operations:

  • Temperature control
  • Fan speed
  • Air flow/vent control
  • Defog/defrost control
  • Air conditioning
  • Heated seats
Note: The climate & convenience control touchscreen comes with its own harness which needs to plugged into the back-panel of Perfect F.I.T. radio housing and your Mustang's factory HVAC harness.

Vehicle+Radio Harness: This Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package comes with a vehicle+radio harness for simple installation between the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen receiver and your 2010-up Ford Mustang. You get all the necessary harnesses and adapters in the box to install the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen navigation receiver in your 2010-up Ford Mustang.

Note: The vehicle+radio harness contains three Molex connectors which plug into your Ford Mustang's factory radio harness. On the same end of the harness is a 10-pin connector which plugs into the included Ford stereo replacement interface module (KCX-SRMFD). On the other end of the harness is a 16-pin Alpine radio connector which plugs into the radio connector port on the back of the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen navigation receiver. There is also a mono-sub RCA connector and stereo AUX input connector which plugs into the corresponding ports on the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen. In addition, you will need to make two hardwired connections between the supplied vehicle+radio harness and your vehicle's Parking brake (Yellow/blue) and Foot brake (Yellow/black). There is a remote turn-on lead (Blue/white) to connect an aftermarket amplifier. For vehicle's with the factory "Shaker 1000"amplified systems, it is necessary to solder in eight 200K resistors on the speaker wires.

Steering Wheel Controls: The Perfect F.I.T. Installation Package also includes a steering wheel remote interface cable (KCX-SWCFD). For 2010-up Ford Mustangs with factory steering wheel audio controls, the KTX-MTG8 retains the capability to control the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen navigation receiver's volume, source, and playback controls. There is no additional programming required, simply plug & play.

Note: The 3.5mm connector of the steering wheel remote interface cable plugs into the 3.5mm remote input of the Alpine 8" LCD touchscreen receiver.

Customer Q&A

Q
All of these adapters Ive seen put the opening for the nav/receiver at the bottom -- this bothers me - looking at the pictures doesn't it make it difficult to see / ? I would think the shifter would be blocking your view AND/OR the ability to reach the touchscreen for operation..

It does put the Navi unit down low. I don't think it will be a problem for me although I haven't finished the install yet. Having problems with the wiring harness. Hope to get it finished this weekend. David

Thanks much for your input -- Im looking into my 2013 Boss so your opinion hits it right on the mark!

I installed this kit in my 2012 Boss 302. I do not have any problems seeing the screen or accessing any of the menus on the touch screen. My car is a manual trans so I can't speak for an automatic trans. Angled screens are not a problem either. Once in a while the sun glare makes it tough to view the screen but not enough for me to dislike the product. Looks great in the car and everyone compliments it.
