V-Power amplifiers deliver the sound quality that made Alpine famous. Highly efficient power supplies housed in sleek black casings guarantee that these amps stand out in performance and appearance. The thermal management system dissipates heat and saves power, so your V-Power amp will run reliably for years to come.

The MRP-F300 4-channel amplifier sends 50 watts RMS to each of your front and rear speakers, or switches to 2-channel mode to power a pair of subwoofers. You can also switch to 3-channel mode, then power a subwoofer with 150 watts RMS while the other two channels power a pair of full-range speakers.

High- and low-pass filters put you in command of the frequencies that reach your speakers, while the bass boost is armed with plenty of low-end punch. Preamp- and speaker-level inputs allow you to connect this amp in almost any vehicle. Let a V-Power amplifier transform the sound of your car's audio system.

Features

Power Supply: The MRP-F300 amplifier's power supply uses MOSFETs to convert DC battery voltage to the higher DC voltages needed for high power. It supplies positive and negative voltages around 0V, rather than around 6V as with conventional single-polarity power supplies. The result is higher power levels and a dynamic range wider by as much as 10dB.

Inputs: The amplifier offers both line-level and speaker-level inputs for 4 channels. The supplied speaker-level input harness allows you to connect this amplifier to a receiver without preamp outputs; aftermarket or factory.

Line Outputs: This amplifier has a pair of non-fading stereo RCA line outputs. You can use these outputs to daisy-chain another amplifier without having to run additional signal cables from the receiver.

Terminal Covers: The amp comes with two plastic covers that protect and insulate the RCA, power, and speaker connections. Four supplied machine screws attach the covers to the amplifier.

Controls

Gain Controls: This amp has independent front and rear channel gain controls.

Crossovers: Both front and rear channels have independent high-pass and low-pass crossovers. The crossover points are continuously variable from 50-400 Hz and the slope of both is 12dB/octave. Each set of channels has a high-pass/low-pass/off switch.

Subsonic Filter: This amp utilizes a subsonic filter at 15Hz to eliminate super low frequencies that can rob power and damage speakers. The subsonic filter operates at all times; it cannot be turned off.

Bass EQ: The Bass EQ circuit provides a fixed boost of 12dB at 50 Hz for the rear channels only. The Bass EQ can be turned off and does not function when the amp's rear-channel crossover is set to high-pass operation.

Connections

Left Side Of Amplifier:

  • GND (ground): gold-plated screw terminal, 0.33" wide
  • Battery: gold-plated screw terminal, 0.33" wide
  • Remote: gold-plated screw terminal, 0.33" wide
  • Speaker Outputs: gold-plated screw terminals (8), 0.33" wide

Note: Alpine recommends 8 gauge power and ground wire (minimum).

Right Side Of Amplifier:

  • Line Inputs: 2 pair of gold-plated stereo RCA jacks
  • Line Output: 1 pair of gold-plated stereo RCA jacks
  • Speaker Level Input: Molex plug input for supplied 4-pin harness

I have a 1998 Chevy Tahoe that has 3 pairs of speakers: front, rear passenger and cargo area. I want to power all speakers and also use the SUB out from the amp to power my power tube. What would be the best speaker wiring to take advantage of all the speakers? Would i tie the front and rear passenger together or the rear passenger and cargo area together?

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: That will depend on the power handling of the speakers, but in this setup I would suggest wiring the rear speakers in series off one another. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Ive heard this amp can be run in 3 channel mode but I havent found any description on how to do that? If anyone can expand on this it would be most appreciative. Note I am installing this amp for the first time. Tks, Chris

Chris L ...Although I used this amp in 4 channel mode, you can use it for 3 channels. I sold the vehicle along with all the manuals so, I am going off memory here and countless other installs over the years. I'm going to assume you will be using this amp to power a pair of full range or component speakers and a sub If that is the correct scenario you will hook your full range/ component speaker pair to channels 1&2. Make sure you wire them up as the diagram states on the end of the amp. Meaning ...left speaker +- to left speaker and right speaker +- to the right speaker. Channels 3 &4 will be combined to make your 3rd channel. This is called bridging which essentially doubles the power output going to your sub. There should be a diagram on the side of the amp showing you how to make these "bridging" connections. Basically you will be taking the positive and negative speaker wire from your sub and hooking one of the wires to the positive or negative terminal on channel 3 and the other wire to the negative or positive terminal on channel 4. Always try to hook negative to negative and positive to positive. Hope this helps

Couldn't you simply bridge 3 & 4 together?
michael  Dec 17, 2013
A
Yes it can. 2/3/4 channel capability. 2 channels bridged to one mono channel, the other 2 channels run stereo. Built in filters for subwoofer on mono channel. High pass filter for the stereo channels. No problem.

I had a professional install it. I installed the head unit but when I got the amp I went to a pro and I'm glad I did. He replaced the stock wiring with that I ordered from these guys and did a wonderful job. I didn't know where the wiring channels were. He had to use more than one because of the Guage of the wire. Also ran me a cable in case I ever installed a sub woofer. He also set up the crossover and equipment on the amp for me. Once it's in hard to get to. He also had to Remo e the door panels the back seat and the dash to install in my truck. It was the best 175 dollars I spent. Would have taken me a day or two And I would have had to have someone help. When I put in my Kenwood I also got 4 infinity speakers. They are great. You will be very happy with the amp. It sounds better than anything I have ever heard and I have seen some very good ones. Definitely will need good speakers. That amp will blow any stock speaker out including the bose that come stock. Very clean and clear sound all the way to max volume. You can try the install yourself, I did install the head unit and the speakers but I used factory wiring. With this amp you need heavy Guage to get all it capable of and it's capable of very good things. Go with the pro. You got one of the best there is get everything out of it and you will be as impressed as I was. Mind blowing.
