Digital technology that sounds perfect

Alpine's X-Power MRX-M110 mono amplifier uses the latest amp technology to play your music loud and clean without taking up much space. And this compact amp employs some of the same circuitry developed for Alpine's top-of-the-line PDX digital amps, so it'll bring exceptional sound to almost any ride.

Big power for big bass

The MRX-M110 puts out up to 1,100 watts RMS to your subwoofer system, so you can fill your listening space with plenty of bass. And it'll even operate safely with a 1-ohm load, making it useful in a variety of sub system installations. Onboard low-pass and subsonic filters let you get the best sound out of your setup, while a bass boost helps to fatten up the sound if you need it.

Keep the music playing

A power management system optimizes the amp's performance and keeps the music playing, even when you're pushing it hot and hard for a long time. Speaker-level inputs with an automatic turn-on feature simplify system hook-up. You can control the volume of your MRV-M500 from the front seat with the optional RUX-KNOB remote bass controller.

MRX Amplifier Design: Class-D amplifiers boast higher efficiency, produce less heat, and draw less current than traditional Class-AB amps. The MRX series benefits from the technology trickledown from Alpine's more expensive PDX amps, including Direct FET final outputs, thermal management processor, 6-Layer Glass Epoxy PC Board; combining to create a high-end sound quality without the bulky heat sinks required by most amps in this power class.

STAR Topology: Alpine's unique STAR (Signal Transit for Accurate Response) Circuit PCB design provides a single common ground for all amp sub-blocks, preventing ground interference and minimizing internal noise.

Power Management Processor: The multi-stage Power Management Processor continuously monitors component temperatures throughout the amplifier and decreases power output if anything gets too hot. When playing music under heavy loads for long periods, the circuit automatically reduces power output slightly at first, and then further in a second stage if necessary. This two stage approach provides an interruption free listening experience.

CEA 2006 Compliant: The MRX-M110's power ratings are measured according to the Consumer Electronics Association CEA-2006 standards. These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging. The power output is measured from 20 Hz to 400 Hz using a 14.4 volt power supply with no more than 0.01% THD+N:

  • 4-ohm: 650 watts
  • 2-ohm: 1100 watts
  • 1-ohm: 800 watts

Signal-to-Noise: When measured under CEA-2006 conditions (reference 1 watt into a 4-ohm load) the signal to noise ratio is 90 dBA. Measured at the rated power output S/N is 117 dB.

Verification Certificate: The amplifier comes with a certificate that lists the RMS power output measured from that specific amplifier. It also lists the model number, serial number, test date, and the test conditions (voltage and impedance).

Auto Turn On: When using the speaker level inputs the X-Power amplifiers automatically turn on when voltage is detected on the signal inputs, making them an easy factory system upgrade.

Low Output Impedance: With low output impedance, the MRX-M110 outputs tightly controlled bass, with a damping Factor rated at greater than 1000.

LED: The top panel LED power indicator glows blue when the amplifier is turned on.

Controls

Gain: The MRX-M110's gain is set according to the level of the incoming signal. The line-level input gain setting is continuously variable from 100 mV to 4.0V; the speaker-level input gain setting is continuously variable from 250 mV to 10.0V.

Crossover: The low-pass crossover point is continuously variable from 50 to 400 Hz and the slope is 24 dB/oct; the crossover cannot be bypassed.

Subsonic Filter: The amp also has a 24 dB/oct subsonic filter, continuously variable from 5 to 30 Hz.

Bass EQ: Bass boost can be applied to the subwoofer output; it's variable from 0 to +12 dB and centered at 50 Hz.

Connections

Power/Ground/Remote: The MRX-M110 features set-screw terminals for the Power, Ground and Remote Turn-on inputs. The Power and Ground terminals will accommodate up to 4 gauge wire (Alpine recommends 4 gauge for cable runs over 3'), the Remote Turn-on terminal will accept up to 8 gauge wire.

Speaker Output: The speaker outputs terminal is also set-screw terminals and will accept up to 8 gauge wire.

Line Input/Output: Line level RCA is the preferred input connection. The full range stereo line output allows easily adding another amp without running a second set of cables.

Speaker Level Input: Use the included speaker level input harnesses if the connected radio has no preamp outputs.

Fuses: The amp is protected by four chassis mounted 25-amp ATO fuses.

Remote Bass Control (optional): Alpine's RUXKNOB wired remote (sold separately), connects to the amp's RJ-25 Remote Bass Control jack, and offers control of the subwoofer output level from the front of your vehicle. The linear attenuation can be adjusted from 0 to -20dB.

BASICALLY YOU WILL JUST NEED ONE CAUSE THIS AMP HAS SO MUCH POWER IF YOU HAVE VOICES YOU WILL NEED A SMALLER ALPINE AMP?

Q
Why at 1 ohm is it less watts than at 2 ohms? Is this amp 1 ohm stable?
tino  Aug 17, 2016
1 answer
A
Great question, typically the lower the ohm rating the more power drawn through the amp. I own this amp and considered the fact that the amp outputs less watts at 1 ohm than 2 ohm is indicative that it is not as stable in 1 ohm operation.

Hook the positive lead to both positive on the speaker and same for the negative. It will operate at a 2 ohm load.
timothy  Mar 05, 2016
A
Jumper the neg to neg and pos to pos. The sub should of came with two jumpers. Then you tie one neg and positive from amp to sub, doesn't matter which one since you bridged them with the jumpers.

Q
So I'm new to all this bit I have 2 type r 12s that are 2 ohms. I want to buy this amp to power both of them. My question is I know there is only one speaker input so most likely I'll b connecting both speaker wires to the one input, now is this going to split the 1100 watts between both subs or supply them both with the same amount of power?
dante  Jan 03, 2016
1 answer
A
If your two speakers are both single voice coil 2ohm speakers then you wire the speakers as follows. Negative from amp to negative of #1 woofer, #1 woofer positive to negative on #2 woofer. Then positive from amp to positive on woofer #2. This will make the amp run at 1,100 watts Rms. Which is actually 550 Rms to each woofer. More than enough power for two 10" or 12" woofers

I have to kicker 12 inch cvx subwoofers. How should I wire them to this amp For best performance?

that works should sound just fine, but i switched to a swr 10 d4 and put in the smallest proted box i could get and it seams to sound better than that 12
stephen  Sep 06, 2014

Yes this amp would be great for this setup. Looks like that type r rms is 300-1000w. So that 650 would be a perfect sweet spot. I used mine on two older the original type r 10". But after about a month blow on of them out because of the power. This was expected. It just now gives me a reason to try out my alpine type x on it now.
joshua  Aug 27, 2014
A
Yes it will be. I had the Alpine 10's (DVC) hooked to it and it sounded amazing. Plus there alot of ajustments to tweak it to your setup.
jeremiah  Aug 26, 2014
A
I had an Alpine Type R paired to this amplifier and my subwoofer popped twice. There is too much power coming from this amp to your sub, and I had to return it to Crutchfield both times. I would say get a less powerful amp than this one, or else a much better subwoofer. The type R was decent, but then I upgraded to a Rockford T0, which produced much better low notes and paired with the amplifier much better than the Alpine.
ritesh  Aug 26, 2014
A
Get the swr12d4 and wire it to 2ohms you will get 1200watts and that sub will hit hard. I have the 10inch version with 1200 watts. You will definitely get better sound quality with that sub with 1200 watts
jordan  Aug 26, 2014
A
You would be better off getting a dual 2 ohm type r as this amp makes 800 watts at 1 ohm and 1100 at 2ohm.
joshua  Aug 26, 2014
A
Yes it will but it would be much better with two off those subs. I have the same setup but had to turn my amp levels really low because it blew the sub out. I only have 1 sub but thinking of getting another rich would sound a lot better keeping the amp at low levels.
