The efficient SPR-69C 6"x9" speakers broadcast full low-frequency response with hybrid layered-pulp woofers, so you'll feel as if the bass guitarist is right beside you. Rubber surrounds resist deterioration and keep the woofers moving smoothly and consistently for accurate sound.

Premium silk ring-dome tweeters radiate bright vocals and sparkling instrumentals, without the annoying ear fatigue that inferior tweeters can cause. You can swivel the tweeters to provide the best stereo imaging for your car.

great sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The highs are not too tinny and the lows for 6x9's are great for their price point. These replaced the OEM speakers in my Titan. They made the OEM head unit sound much better. I was worried that the OEM head unit would not have sufficient power but the specs for the speakers and once installed proved otherwise. Now I am ready for a new head unit and amp to really utilize these speakers capability.
They did not get highest rating because Alpine does not include spade connectors or any wire for connecting them. My vehicle also does not have an adaptor that Crutchfield has to connect so I had to purchase wire and spade connectors to complete installation otherwise it would have been a 5 star review..

Written By Devin, kenosha WI on Monday, March 28, 2011

I bought these speakers knowing that i would later need to buy an amp. I hooked them up and right away i noticed a huge difference. These alpines weigh more and of course sound so much better than my factory. I would recommend these speakers to anybody who is looking to get great sound on a low budget. They allow you to get your tweeter in there with the low to mid range. I cant wait to add an amp to hear them come to life.

Superb sound quality

This is the clearest sound I have ever heard from a 6 x 9 speaker, mounted these in Sound Ordnance wedge boxes powered by a Kenwood 5204 60 watt x 2 amplifier behind the back seat of a regular cab Dakota. The bass will not shake the windows but is quite impressive,if you want great sound without breaking the bank you wont go wrong with these speakers.

Great Deal!

These speakers sound great!
Crutchfiled is the best site ever; they made the purchase easy and affortable.
Installation was a breeze - only took me about 30 minutes for both doors.
I will now buy all my car audio needs from only!

Great speakers, just like you would expect. Running with a Boston GT275 amp (rms 75 watt a channel). Really give them a work out, on rock and pop, if you like rap and hip hop, might need some help in the bass department.

Written By houtx5, Houston, TX on Thursday, July 08, 2010

Installed as front speakers in Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab driven by Alpine PDX-5 amp (75-100 Watt RMS per channel)....and these speakers really perform. These speakers can handle the highs and have plenty of punch as well. Great all-around speakers....but again, that's what you get with Alpine !

These speakers are like mini-subs. They can really slam. However, I only gave it 4 stars because the compression of the bass waves. The compression waves frequently distort the tremble of songs.

Sounds like 2 sets of speakers in one.

Written By Anonymous, Greenville, SC on Monday, April 12, 2010

The speakers are extremely powerful -- the bass output is astonishing...if you see low rating on bass for these it is because they were not amp'ed. These speakers need a good amount of power (75 GOOD watts, not crap), and they make your forehead hurt. The midbass is out of this world, highs are very loud. Best speaker i've owned.

highs good, lows not at all

Written By sam, hartford, ct on Monday, March 29, 2010

Unfortunately, these speakers had less bass to them than the factory speakers. The highs were a definite inprovement, but for a 6x9, i expected some sort of deeper bass. The factory speakers had unquestionably better bass and deeper lows

Great Speakers with easy installation

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are the best speakers I owned. Way better than my stereo speakers on my 07
Honda accord. The bass is awesome, and back is rocking with the bass. The
installation was a breeze since crutchfield send the harness for free, took
about half hr to install, unscrewing and screwing took most of the time. I am
going to buy these speakers again for my 2010 Camry.

Way Way Better!

Written By no, Warsaw,IN on Thursday, March 04, 2010

These speakers are amazing. The magnet on these things are huge. I almost couldnt fit them in my car. It took altogether about 30 minutes to put them in thanks to crutchfield supplying all the speaker hookups. Its funny because i have a 91 caddy and they have carpet over the back, well when i turned these on it blew all the dust and stuff outta the carpet. But if your thinking about getting these, well stop, and go get them. They are amazing speakers great lows, highs, and mids. The tweeter really makes the sound pop. Really great speakers, that are really worth $200. Idk if im gonna get subs now lol.

They were easy to install took me about and hour and 15 minutes. I didnt even use an amp and i still have my factory stereo i cant imagine when i amp them up and pick up a head unit their going to sound even better. Just stop looking around these are the best 6x9s in my opinion...... The tweeter on these bad boys are amazing. The bass is hard to. I would buy these again if i ever have to.

Thanks to Crutchfield and their "do-it-yourself" instructions - I was able to
install these rear deck speakers in less than an hour. Great sounding
speakers hooked up with a new JVC radio - Now I can't wait to get into my
car and enjoy the new audio system. Thanks for your help. I definitely would
order again or recommend someone to order through Crutchfield. They got
their game down!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just put these in my 1998 intrigue and they vastly increased the sound quality
and the amplitude of the music in my car. Don't even think about buying any
other 6x9 speaker these are amazing. I don't have any amp hooked up to
them, super easy to install without an amp just use the included connector and
they are in. Even without an amp these speakers are loud and i'm sure with an
amp they would dominate all.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

just installed these in my 03 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, the 6x9 alpine spr's
was a great choice for my install. i had to use the spacer brackets that
came with the kit, the factory holes were too rounded off for the speaker to
fit flush. plenty of room behind the door panel for these great speakers. i
have them hooked up to a Alpine HU and i'm able to turn them up way past
20 before any distortion kicks in. i also purchased the Alpine component
speakers for the rear doors.with these speakers and a MTX Thunderlink
Sub mounted on the trans hump my system has fantastic sound clarity and
low end thump. thanks crutchfield and a special thanks to Ozzy tech
specialist for helping me...

Great improvement on the stock speakers, easy to fit

Written By Alan, Edmonton, AB on Thursday, August 13, 2009

These were very quick and easy to fit, Crutchfield sent just the right connector for my 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 MT, and they were exactly the right dimensions: no mount needed. Sound much improved over the rather sad stock 6x9s: tighter less boomy bass and some high end too for the folks in the back of the car.

These are fantastic speakers for the price and very noticeably better from the stock speakers they replaced in my 2005 Mini Cooper S.

The included Crutchfield Master Sheet and wiring harness made the installation a breeze. I'll be enjoying these speakers for a long time to come.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me begin by saying that Crutchfield's service is the best out there. After several months of research, I was finally convinced by Crutchfield's expertise and advise to upgrade my factory system. The Crutchfield team really know what they are talking about, and they are really nice to talk to in general! Ten stars to Crutchfield!!

Best 6x9 speakers out on the market period! I just installed these 6x9 speakers in the rear deck of my '09 Camry along with the Alpine SPX-13REF for the front doors and they are excellent! I was surprised at the mids and highs that these speakers reproduce (6x9s are usually for bass), they literally produce studio-like sound. To get the best out of these speakers you need to push them with a capable external amplifier; these speakers need at least 90 watts to produce good sound (can receive 110 watts continuous). In other words, don't expect to get amazing reproduction from your factory stereo or amplifier. I am really in to car audio and good sound so I purchased the Alpine PDX-4.100 to push 100 watts to each speaker. I also added a JL 10"W3 subwoofer to add some lows since I set up the speakers mainly to produce mids and highs; I'm pushing the sub with an Alpine PDX-1.600. This entire setup sounds really clean and clear with no distortion at high volume (rotated the volume knob to 30; only 5 less of head unit capability).

Overall I am very happy with my system! Thanks again Crutchfield for your advise and support!

Written By jdeck12390, Scranton, PA on Sunday, April 19, 2009

I have had these speakers for almost 2 years now and i have to say they are the best purchase i have ever made for my car. Great clear sound, and suprisingly good bass that will thump a little bit. I have these and two 6.5 in my front doors powered by an MRP 550 amp and it is one of the best combos i have heard. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you are limited to a tighter budget.

Just plain AWESOME

Written By 06gtman, mount pleasant MI on Saturday, April 04, 2009

I have been into audio systems for years. So it would not be advised to compare the SPR'S to any infinity speaker. Also if people want to drive these speakers of their factory head unit, you may be able to do that at low volume but that is about it. Most of them are rated at 87DB that takes power to drive them like they should be, also that is a very good thing in my case because I play rock music and speakers that have high DB ratings will not take the power they clam. To get the most out of theses speakers you will need any amp, (and not a junk amp. The only amps that have what it takes to make any speaker play like they should are (JL-Audio, MTX, and alpine) with that said alpine hit it big when they made the SPR series. Anyone that has a clue will love these speakers; I wish you could reply to people on crutchfield review site. Because I would let some people have it...

I would have to say that these are some really great speakers. I replaced my factory 6x9's in my 2002 Xterra and am completely satisfied. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a clear, crisp sound. My only regret so far is that I don't have an amp hooked up to them to get their full potential. I can't imagine what it will sound like after that.

These speakers sound great. If you give them power. Alot of people give
them poor reveiws but they are hooking them up to stock decks. They need
an amp. Im sending them 100 watts, and the are very loud. The bass hits
very hard, not deep (thats what the sub is for) and very loud. The mids and
highs are great. Defenatly the best 6x9 i have herd for the money. But
make sure you feed them the power they want!!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are a vast improvement over the factory 6x9s in my 03 Honda Accord. I'm a teeny bit disappointed with the mid-range (or lack thereof). Good bass response - even though, at times, it does get a little too punchy. A friend of mine told me Type Rs were a good purchase; however, in hindsight, I prolly could have got some other 6x9s for cheaper.

Disappointing. For a big name (Alpine), I was expecting more. I have a
2005 Dodge 1500 Club Cab. I put these in my front doors to replace the
stock speakers and all but lost my bass. I have Kicker tweeters mounted
in the top of the dash that bounce off the windshield and stock speakers in
the rear. I do hear highs I'd not heard before, but the lack of bass for a 6"
X 9" now has me in the market for a sub.

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Written By RemoWilliams, Orlando, FL on Thursday, September 18, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just finished installing these in my Jeep and I have to say, I am beyond
pleased. I didn't want to blow all my money on a component system so I
just replaced the head unit from factory CD player to Kenwood KDC-MP338
and from factory (non-Infinity) 6 x 9's to these speakers.

As soon as you get them out of the box and compare to the factory
speakers, you can tell they mean business by their weight alone--and the
magnets are strong enough to hold Iron Man in check :)

What a difference, now I can hear lows that I never knew were there. I
listen to mostly Old School Rap, Techno, Trance, and Drum & Bass.
Needless to say, a lot of very bass-heavy music. My wife didn't want to
sacrifice cargo space for a subwoofer, but I'll tell you that I don't believe I
need one, the lows are perfectly acceptable in-vehicle. The highs are really
crisp, in fact I had to turn the trebble way down, but it you are trying to
upgrade your situation and can't spend $1000 on a new system, give these
speakers and a nice new HU a try. I recommend using some Dynamat if
you're going to place in doors like I did, it really helps with sound

The hardest part of the install was cutting the factory speaker harness and
soldering on the wires, which should be no big deal for your average joe
anyways. Other than that, they went right in to my front doors and I am
very pleased...

All I can say is WOW

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put these in the rear deck of my 2006 Honda Accord with factory radio after
going through 2 different pairs of Pioneer 6x9's. WOW, what a difference.
The pioneer's were good. Alpine's are great. These sound great even with
factory head unit. The bass hits so hard I get some rattling in my trunk.
Putting some foam material down inbetween the speaker and the metal of
the rear deck solved that up quick. Great buy. I always tell people not to
go cheap when it comes to speakers. I am soon to amp them up.
Crutchfiled was great as always with the returns of the Pioneers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow! These speakers sound amazing in the back of my 2004 Nissan Xterra. Fits perfectly in the factory holes. I had no prior experience with installing speakers. This installation was flawless.

Pumps pretty good bass. Could be better, but I'm running it off the internal amp for the head unit(Alpine IVA-W205).

Worth Every Penny

Written By quirk, Tucson, AZ on Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Wow! Just got these babies hooked up and they are fantastic. They are a *perfect* fill speaker for anyone looking for 6x9's in the back seat. I have a
pair of them running at 80w RMS apiece in my Honda Civic coupe. The silk dome tweeter provides just enough fill to highs and mids without adding to
the brightness of the Pioneer 4-way 6.5's in my doors. And as far as the bass goes, Greg from Crutchfield chat was right - Alpine is conservative
with their range figures. They are listed at 60Hz on the low end which is surprising since the bass is soooo strong and deep, perfect for rock music.
To fill the absolute bottom, get a sub. But, you won't find a better bass-oriented 6x9 for the money. Period. Get them!

Excellent product, great instructions

Written By Patrick, Fort Smith, AR on Wednesday, July 16, 2008

I purchased these speakers for my son's 2003 Nissan X-Terra. With the included instruction sheet, installation was no problem. My son has had very limited experience with projects of this type and had no problem installing the speakers and they sound great. Next on his list of projects...installing an amp, which I'm sure will go well also.

Easy upgrade to the front doors of my 2008 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. Bolt right in - plenty of clearance. Sounded good but a little weak at 50W - I am now sending them around 100W and they really sound great. Drums really pop and the midbass response is very good. You have to feed these things some power to get the best out of them - just watch your amp gains. Very happy with these speakers.

bought these for front door speakers in my 06 dodge ram because my infinity's would'nt fit. I'm impressed with their performance even with factory power. Can't wait to install an amp for them. My only concern is that no alpine speakers fit the rear doors and hardly any aftermarket brands for that matter. But that aside i recomend these alpines because of their balance and clarity. GREAT SOUND!

I bought these speakers for my 2006 Dodge Magnum. They're sitting in the rear. Perfect fit, no modifications. I usually test my speakers for clarity with a high note song. For these speakers it was a little AIR SUPPLY. They sounded awesome. As for the bass, it's nice and tight. Im running these off my Apline IVA-D310 and they're superb. See you guys later!

Woofers: The Alpine Type-R series coaxial speakers feature woofer cones made of hybrid layered-pulp with mica coating for great bass response. For durability and superior linearity, the woofers have rubber surrounds.

Swivel Tweeters: The speakers are equipped with 1" (25mm) silk ring-dome tweeters for greater detail and bright, crisp highs. These tweeters can swivel to improve off-axis response in less-than-ideal installations. You can aim the tweeter by hand for best high frequency response at your listening position.

Motor Structure: The High-performance Linear Drive Motor structure features a large magnet that is almost as big as the voice coil diameter. Its dual radial magnet and twin gap, combined with a square, edge-wound voice coil, gives the diaphragm linear movement over a much greater range. This design allows the speaker to be faithful to the input signal even during high excursion, for accurate musical reproduction and deep bass.
