The sonic specialists at Alpine optimize their SPS-510 5-1/4" speakers for great range and impressive tone definition, even at low power levels. You can connect these versatile Type-S Series speakers to your factory stereo for an immediate sonic improvement, or hook them up to a powerful aftermarket stereo or amp for increased performance.
Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate upper bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome tweeters provide warm high notes that bring out the character of the instruments and vocals. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
Just replaced all the factory speakers in my sons 06 impreza. The sound is killer! Has to be at least 10X better than the factory setup. Highly recommend this Alpine SPS 510.
Pros: Great sound , easy install with the supplied spacers and wiring pigtail. No alterations to door panel or door skins. Mount the spacers and mount the speakers and done.
Highly recommend these speakers for good sound at good price
Great over all sound. More bass than I thought from a speaker this size!
Pros: All good. Great quality sound.
Cons: The speaker adapters had 4 mounting holes only 3 of which lined up with my stock holes.
great sound easy to insrall
Excellent high end
I installed these in my '99 Dodge Durango, and they fit pretty well with a bracket adapter. They sound great, and actually do have a decent amount of bass considering their size. I would recommend buying bigger speakers if your factory holes can accept them but they sound amazing for their size and are a huge improvement over my factory speakers.
Pros: Great sound, easy to install
Cons: Slightly small
Alpine have never let me down.
Pros: Like the quality.
Cons: They were a little smaller than I thought.
Very nice speaker, overall good build quality, it covers all the whole sound spectrum very nicely for its size
Fine speakers. Easy installation (20mn) for someone handy who had never done this before.
Pros: Good sound, hefty feeling of a good build for the speaker itself. Intuitive installation.
Cons: Not completely easy to fit the speaker. Original thickness of mount is bit different. For some reason the two speakers didn't mount exactly the same way. In the end I guess it's inconsequential. On could nitpick about sound quality, a bit bright, with bass a bit undefined, but for the price, these are great and definitely better than the original equipment. It also depends what you listen to and what the source is.
Really good sound. I'm using in an open top Jeep but still really good sound.
Pros: Much better than stock.
Easy install, great sound with my Pioneer head unit, very satisfied. Also bought the Alpine speaker covers to mask the screws and the door's speaker hole edge.
I love my new speakers! Will be changing all the old ones soon
It's been a while since I've installed any non-factory gear, and when I was reading about the mounting hole drilling that would be needed to install these in my 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon, I wasn't sure if this would be a smooth switch out. A couple calls to the techs to validate what I was doing, and they were in. Super easy install with the brackets, and they are truly like the peanut butter to my new Alpine CDE-SXM145BT's jelly. Good lows for a 5 1/4 set, really smooth mids and crystal clear highs. I'm very happy with them, especially for the price!
Pros: Great sound overall, good range, easy install with kit. MASSIVE improvement over stock speakers.
Cons: Installation docs could be a bit more detailed, but with a couple calls to support, everything was great!
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Plastic tips. Broke 2
Had someone else do the install for me. But the install paired these SPS-510s up with SPS-610Cs and a new MRP-F300 Amp to replace factory Infinity system along with a previous installed Alpine CDE-124SXM radio and the sound is fantastic. Exactly what I needed for my listening preferences for a lot of acapella music, audio books, sports broadcasts, and talk radio!
Purchased these with an Alpine deck and a Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300x4. These speakers sound worse than the stock speakers in my 2001 4runner Limited. Also required mounting modification on all the doors. The range of these speakers is pretty limited - the sound is muddled. The stock speakers have crisper highs and clearer mids and lows.
Cons: Muddled sound
Was easy to install, sound quality is great
Pros: sounds great
Pros: Easy to install and performance is great
Pros: Easy instal !!
Easy install. Sound quality is clear, but not much Bass response.
Pros: clean distort free sound
Cons: Low Bass response
These speakers made my stock Ranger system sound great. Easy install, and fast shipping.
Pros: Easy install Improved sound with stock system.
These are a nice set of speakers. Installed them in the roll bar of my 2003 Wrangled. Definite improvement over the stock speakers. Installation was a breeze with the included wire harnesses.
Speakers do not fit under stock covers (door location) and do not come with their own. Had to cut a part off the original speaker to use as a mounting bracket so I could have speaker covers. Not plug and play.
Pros: Much better sound - original speakers were toast
Cons: Not a direct fit for this car as listed
I recently purchased a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that had more blown and aged speakers than working. I have ordered through Crutchfield in the past and enjoyed the ease of both finding the right set up and install equipment, so they were my only choice. The speakers and deck arrived all well packaged and a few days later. Text book install and the sound quality cant be described.
Pros: Outstanding highs and mids
I bought these to replace the old factory speakers. Obviously not a lot of bass due the size but they do perform quite well and I sure i'm only scratching the surface with these in my current setup. Comes with everything you need and installation is easy.
Pros: The whole thing considering.
Cons: You'll need a subwoofer.
Nice sound and excellent bass, trebal and midrange, love Alpine products
Pros: All good
Had a lot better sound quality than the pioneer speakers I had in my car previously to these.
Pros: Good quality for the price!
Sound great in the mids and highs. I had to run a HPF so they wouldn't get any bass or it would sound distorted.
Pros: Sound great
Easy installation and great sound.
I got what I was looking for. Crisp clear highs as excellent mids. The only thing I don't like is when there's too much bass, these speakers sound distorted.
Cons: When there's too much bass, it sounds distorted.
Have not installed yet
I put these in my 95 volvo 850 wagon, even though crutchfield says they don't fit. Crutchfield says that my car uses 4 in speakers in front and back doors, which is false. They use metric sizes though and the front come out to be almost exactly 5.25 and the rear doors are like 5.75. The front door speakers fit fine i just had to fiddle with the mounting a little. I will probably put these rather than 6.5s in the rear because they will fit better. Overall great speakers.
Pros: Size, weight, price, and sound.
I bought these speakers for my mail 1997 jeep Cherokee to replace my rear speakers. Looking at other reviews they are correct about the bass part but I was not concerned about the bass, I just wanted quality to replace my factory speakers.
Pros: Good highs, decent bass
Factory honda civic speakers went out and Crutchfield was so helpful. The free wire harness is such a great deal. The local store charges up to 30 bucks for that.
Pros: Speakers sounds so crisp
Cons: Mid range just alright
I put these speakers in to replace the blown stock speakers so I didn't use an amp. They have exceptional sound in the mid range but I will need a sub because they really lack in deep sound
Pros: Great mid range sound
Cons: No deep sound
Very clean crisp sounding, not over powering def need to have a sub with these.
Pros: Loud Crisp Clean
Cons: Need a sub
They sound great combined with an Alpine CDE-134 HD
I bought these alpines to replace some cheap polks in my wrangler. Wow, what a difference. These speakers scream without distortion. I am very very satisfied with this purchase.
Pros: Loud. Clear. Easy to install thanks to crutchfield including the wire harness.
Cons: None whatsoever.
I love these speakers! Running them off of a Sony 52x4 head unit. Installed in a wrangler. These speakers scream. Base is good. Highs are amazing. Originally installed some cheap Polk audio speakers on the roll bar and they were terrible. The alpines sound 100 times better! I was concerned that I would have to amp the new speakers but there is no reason to do so...
Pros: Inexpensive. Loud. Quality. Trusted company.
To start, these have nearly no bass. However the mid and highs are reproduced with amazing clarity with no distortion even at high volumes. I was particularly impressed with the high end where I find most speakers have a distorted sound. Not these, the highs all the way up to the highest frequencies are very clear. They are so clear that you can easily hear how bad SiriusXM actually sounds and hear the difference between low and higher bit rate encoded MP3s. But when you put in a 256kbps MP3 or a CD, these speakers shine and show off the clear reproduction of music.
I got these for the front doors because they were the largest coaxial that would fit without going with component. In retrospect I would have gone with the Alpine SPR-60C (potentially the SPS-610C would also be an improvement) and dealt with the component tweeters to match the Alpine SPR-60 (that has decent bass) that I installed in the back. In fact, I may end up upgrading to when I can afford it and include the Alpine KTP-445U "Power Pack" amp.
Also I am running off the Alpine head unit power, no Amp. These sound better at high volume so clearly the amount of power is a factor. I assume with even a modest amp these would sound that much better.
So they sound awesome, but go with 6-3/4" if you can, and the SPR-60 if you can afford it.
Pros: Clear high quality distortion free mids and highs Inexpensive
Cons: Almost no bass (as I expected)
Pros: Quality of material
Cons: Almost no bass
The speakers lack clear highs and have essentially no bass. I have high end amp and head unit and the stock paper speakers were superior. I uninstalled the alpines and am returning them. I reinstalled the stock speakers and the improvement in sound was not subtle.
I installed these speakers in my 1998 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab to go with the Alpine CDE-124SXM deck and Alpine KTP-445 powerpack. The difference in sound between the stock speakers and the SPS-510s is like night and day. The highs are crisp and clear and the bass is deep enough for my liking. I can't say that the installation was easy, but it was not rocket science. The door panel removal tools are a definite need for this job. The instructions were clear and concise, but it would be really nice if the Crutchfield team put together a YouTube video.
Pros: Excellent sound for the price.
My 98 Wrangler had stock audio throughout until I swapped the stock speakers for these Alpines. Of course, I was skeptical because the Jeep has the acoustic quality of a cereal box in a wind tunnel. (how much difference could there really be?)... A world of difference! I matched the speakers with a 133bt head unit .... Again skeptical..... But again pleasantly surprised. No dropped calls and real clarity in hearing the spoken word and in the reproduction of each possible modality....iPod, pandora over my Android, and CDs too.
Pros: Clarity... Reasonably good quality bass and reproduction across the rest of the spectrum. These are a huge upgrade over stock at a reasonable price. I listen to a range of music and talk and these fit my needs perfectly.... And I can hear subtleties even in the wind and over road rumble.
Cons: No cons really.... If you are a kid looking for bass bump, you may want more, but that's the stuff of amplifiers and subwoofers..... These are very good speakers, but won't deliver in hat way.
Installed them into my 03 Subaru WRX. Install was a breeze and they sound nice! Yes these aren't the biggest speakers I could put in, but my wallet is also not the biggest. Pretty good back for you buck. Crutchfield included spacers and speaker adapters to work with my stock speaker plugs so that was good. Problem was that I knew for a fact that the speaker spacers wouldnt work too well. Instead I picked up a front/rear speaker spacer combo from IA Performance. This allowed me to instal the 5 1/4 speakers into a 4inch space AND they gave me necessary clips/plugs to securely remount my door panels to accommodate bigger speakers. Same with the front, thicker spacer from IA performance allowed door card to mount properly and have proper clearance. The other upgrades left for my audio is to get a subwoofer(s)/enclosure/amp.
Pros: Buy one get one half off. Definitely better than factory speakers. Easy to install. Great Crutchfield instructions and install kit
Cons: Wish for a bit more bass. but whenever I get the sub it will take care of that problem
was simple to replace stock speakers with the speaker brackets and speaker adapter harness that came included and have excellent sound coming from speakers
I am running these off my stock system in my 2004 cadillac cts and wow what a difference it made!. The only thing that i found a little funny was that the basket for the speakers is plastic and not metal like ones ive used in that past, but it does make them really light so thats nice too. And as always Crutchfield gets A+ for there great customer support.
I bought these as the first part to my multi-part soundsystem upgrade in my 2007 Subaru Impreza. The stock system is junk. I put these in with ease and there was an instant and very noticeable upgrade in quality. I am next going to replace the rear speakers and replace the headunit. Even with just these, it's made my long commute more bearable because the quality is so much better!
I expected the speakers to be great, which they are. The help on the installation is what really impressed me. I was unsure about how to remove the interior panels on my Corvette before installing the Alpine SPS-510 speakers. I called the "800" number and the service tech emailed me the instructions immediately. I proceeded to do the installation, which came out great. Lou V.
Speakers sound great. The fit nice and were eay to install. The only problem
is the speakers don't come with grills. Major problem if they are going to be
installed in an area where they might get damages. The only
catch.....Crutchfield does not sell the grill. You have to go online and buy from
