Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate upper bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome tweeters provide warm high notes that bring out the character of the instruments and vocals. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Very nice sound quality. Bass is present and provides good thump at most volume levels. The speakers do struggle with the longer bass notes however.

Very nice sound quality. Bass is present and provides good thump at most volume levels. The speakers do struggle with the longer bass notes however.

Pros: Great mid to high. Good bass thump when equalizer adjusted.

Cons: Lacking in deep, rumbling bass.

Great upgrade.

I got these to upgrade to 17 year old stock speakers in my jeep. I'm very pleased with the sound that they produce.

Pros: Great sound and very clear.

Cons: I have to do a little more work to get them to fit and not touch the dash supports.

These are great speakers for the size, and are a big improvement over thirteen year old factory speakers. I received everything I needed from Crutchfield to do the installation, and it took me maybe thirty minutes from start to finish. I have yet to replace the rear speakers and the head unit, but I will definitely be ordering them soon.

Pros: Great sound and very clear, easy to install.

Cons: Maybe a little better bass response, but that is about it.

Very clear sound

Pretty good shape speaker , great sound for its size

Pros: Powerful for its size, great price , free supply is a defiantly a plus

Cons: Awful screw , recommended buying #10 screws so they hold the speakers better in brackets and put a think 1/4 felt strip for less rattle between bracket and metel.

Just replaced all the factory speakers in my sons 06 impreza. The sound is killer! Has to be at least 10X better than the factory setup. Highly recommend this Alpine SPS 510.

Pros: Great sound , easy install with the supplied spacers and wiring pigtail. No alterations to door panel or door skins. Mount the spacers and mount the speakers and done.

Cons: None!

I installed these in my '99 Dodge Durango, and they fit pretty well with a bracket adapter. They sound great, and actually do have a decent amount of bass considering their size. I would recommend buying bigger speakers if your factory holes can accept them but they sound amazing for their size and are a huge improvement over my factory speakers.

Pros: Great sound, easy to install

Fine speakers. Easy installation (20mn) for someone handy who had never done this before.

Pros: Good sound, hefty feeling of a good build for the speaker itself. Intuitive installation.

Cons: Not completely easy to fit the speaker. Original thickness of mount is bit different. For some reason the two speakers didn't mount exactly the same way. In the end I guess it's inconsequential. On could nitpick about sound quality, a bit bright, with bass a bit undefined, but for the price, these are great and definitely better than the original equipment. It also depends what you listen to and what the source is.

It's been a while since I've installed any non-factory gear, and when I was reading about the mounting hole drilling that would be needed to install these in my 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon, I wasn't sure if this would be a smooth switch out. A couple calls to the techs to validate what I was doing, and they were in. Super easy install with the brackets, and they are truly like the peanut butter to my new Alpine CDE-SXM145BT's jelly. Good lows for a 5 1/4 set, really smooth mids and crystal clear highs. I'm very happy with them, especially for the price!

Pros: Great sound overall, good range, easy install with kit. MASSIVE improvement over stock speakers.

Cons: Installation docs could be a bit more detailed, but with a couple calls to support, everything was great!

But the install paired these SPS-510s up with SPS-610Cs and a new MRP-F300 Amp to replace factory Infinity system along with a previous installed Alpine CDE-124SXM radio and the sound is fantastic. Exactly what I needed for my listening preferences for a lot of acapella music, audio books, sports broadcasts, and talk radio!

Purchased these with an Alpine deck and a Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300x4. These speakers sound worse than the stock speakers in my 2001 4runner Limited. Also required mounting modification on all the doors. The range of these speakers is pretty limited - the sound is muddled. The stock speakers have crisper highs and clearer mids and lows.

I recently purchased a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that had more blown and aged speakers than working. I have ordered through Crutchfield in the past and enjoyed the ease of both finding the right set up and install equipment, so they were my only choice. I put these in my 95 volvo 850 wagon, even though crutchfield says they don't fit. Crutchfield says that my car uses 4 in speakers in front and back doors, which is false. They use metric sizes though and the front come out to be almost exactly 5.25 and the rear doors are like 5.75. The front door speakers fit fine i just had to fiddle with the mounting a little. I will probably put these rather than 6.5s in the rear because they will fit better. Overall great speakers.

Cons: None whatsoever.

Alpine speakers rock!

Kyle from Louisville, KY on 3/19/2013

I love these speakers! Running them off of a Sony 52x4 head unit. Installed in a wrangler. These speakers scream. Base is good. Highs are amazing. Originally installed some cheap Polk audio speakers on the roll bar and they were terrible. The alpines sound 100 times better! I was concerned that I would have to amp the new speakers but there is no reason to do so...

Pros: Inexpensive. Loud. Quality. Trusted company.

Cons:

Amazing speakers, no Bass

Anonymous from San Jose, CA on 8/20/2012

2000 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

To start, these have nearly no bass. However the mid and highs are reproduced with amazing clarity with no distortion even at high volumes. I was particularly impressed with the high end where I find most speakers have a distorted sound. Not these, the highs all the way up to the highest frequencies are very clear. They are so clear that you can easily hear how bad SiriusXM actually sounds and hear the difference between low and higher bit rate encoded MP3s. But when you put in a 256kbps MP3 or a CD, these speakers shine and show off the clear reproduction of music. I got these for the front doors because they were the largest coaxial that would fit without going with component. In retrospect I would have gone with the Alpine SPR-60C (potentially the SPS-610C would also be an improvement) and dealt with the component tweeters to match the Alpine SPR-60 (that has decent bass) that I installed in the back. In fact, I may end up upgrading to when I can afford it and include the Alpine KTP-445U "Power Pack" amp. Also I am running off the Alpine head unit power, no Amp. These sound better at high volume so clearly the amount of power is a factor. I assume with even a modest amp these would sound that much better. So they sound awesome, but go with 6-3/4" if you can, and the SPR-60 if you can afford it.

Pros: Clear high quality distortion free mids and highs Inexpensive

Cons: Almost no bass (as I expected)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these speakers in my 1998 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab to go with the Alpine CDE-124SXM deck and Alpine KTP-445 powerpack. The difference in sound between the stock speakers and the SPS-510s is like night and day. The highs are crisp and clear and the bass is deep enough for my liking. I can't say that the installation was easy, but it was not rocket science. The door panel removal tools are a definite need for this job. The instructions were clear and concise, but it would be really nice if the Crutchfield team put together a YouTube video.

Pros: Excellent sound for the price.

Cons: None.

Alpine speakers in a Jeep

JP from Boston, ma on 3/3/2012

1998 Jeep Wrangler
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 98 Wrangler had stock audio throughout until I swapped the stock speakers for these Alpines. Of course, I was skeptical because the Jeep has the acoustic quality of a cereal box in a wind tunnel. (how much difference could there really be?)... A world of difference! I matched the speakers with a 133bt head unit .... Again skeptical..... But again pleasantly surprised. No dropped calls and real clarity in hearing the spoken word and in the reproduction of each possible modality....iPod, pandora over my Android, and CDs too.

Pros: Clarity... Reasonably good quality bass and reproduction across the rest of the spectrum. These are a huge upgrade over stock at a reasonable price. I listen to a range of music and talk and these fit my needs perfectly.... And I can hear subtleties even in the wind and over road rumble.

Cons: No cons really.... If you are a kid looking for bass bump, you may want more, but that's the stuff of amplifiers and subwoofers..... These are very good speakers, but won't deliver in hat way.

2003 Subaru Impreza WRX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed them into my 03 Subaru WRX. Install was a breeze and they sound nice! Yes these aren't the biggest speakers I could put in, but my wallet is also not the biggest. Pretty good back for you buck. Crutchfield included spacers and speaker adapters to work with my stock speaker plugs so that was good. Problem was that I knew for a fact that the speaker spacers wouldnt work too well. Instead I picked up a front/rear speaker spacer combo from IA Performance. This allowed me to instal the 5 1/4 speakers into a 4inch space AND they gave me necessary clips/plugs to securely remount my door panels to accommodate bigger speakers. Same with the front, thicker spacer from IA performance allowed door card to mount properly and have proper clearance. The other upgrades left for my audio is to get a subwoofer(s)/enclosure/amp.

Pros: Buy one get one half off. Definitely better than factory speakers. Easy to install. Great Crutchfield instructions and install kit

Cons: Wish for a bit more bass. but whenever I get the sub it will take care of that problem
