Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome tweeters bring out all the details in your music.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Features

Poly-Mica Cone: Each SPS-610 speaker features a Poly-Mica cone and butyl rubber surround. Mica adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Silk Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" Wide-Range Silk Dome Tweeter for smooth high frequencies. The tweeters also swivel up to 10° so you can optimize them based on your listening position.

Efficient Design: The SPS-610's high-efficiency design allows the speaker to be powered by your factory or aftermarket head unit, resulting in an easy system improvement for many vehicles requiring 6-1/2" or 6-3/4" speakers.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the SPS-610 speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets the SPS-610s can be mounted in a variety of standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, Ford 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and non-standard 6-3/4" applications, without any modification.

No Grilles: No grilles are included with these speakers.

Q
I have a 2012 Silverado, I will be replacing the stock speakers in the doors, My question is I have stock tweeters in the plastic framing on both sides of the windshield , will those tweeters still work after installing the new speakers that have the tweeters built into them ?
richard  Oct 05, 2017

A
Hey Richard. I replaced the stock Bose speakers in my 2007 GMC Sierra(Crew Cab) with the SPS-610's in the rear doors and SPS-610C's in the front. I considered using the 610's up front but found it well worth it to use the Component version in front doors. The toughest part of the whole install was snaking the crossover wire through the door wire run but I've dealt with far tougher in a 2000 Camry and 1999 Beetle. Even the bit of trimming to fit the tweeters in the stock pillar mount was fairly easy with just a bit of silicone to hold them in. It all worked great for me, looks completely stock and sounds great.
john  Oct 08, 2017
A
Yes they will but in order to take full of advantage you're better off getting these speakers with the alpine tweeters combo.

They are adequate for my 2009 Silverado. Clarity is fine, bass is better than stock, but not too much punch.
john  May 16, 2017
A
Not as much bass as I expected based on spec sheet. Good midrange sound tho to compliment my sub.
gary  May 16, 2017
A
I enjoy the speakers thoroughly. The clarity and bass work well in any situation of music. They will sound even better hooked to an alpine amp.
roy adam  May 16, 2017
A
Very good.
jayesh  May 16, 2017
A
it is okay, could be better. It also depends on your settings/equalizer levels of your receiver. I would maybe look at going to the next level of speakers for a little better bass.

Q
I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra Access Cab. I am looking for speakers for the back doors and would like to get Alpine 6 3/4" speakers. I checked the vehicle fit and noticed that the SPR-610 speakers fit but the SPS-610 speakers don't. I did some looking and the measurements and tolerances (mounting height) are the same. Help? Any info with this would be appreciated. I have the SPS-610C speakers in the front and would like to acoustically match them as close as possible. Thanks.
bruce  Oct 19, 2015
1 answer
A
It looks like the Alpine SPS-610 2-way speakers have a slightly taller mounting height than what you can fit into the rear doors of your Tundra. However, our research indicates the Alpine's have a 0.783" mount height and you can fit up to 0.778" in your truck; so with that little of a difference, I would imagine you can still get those to fit without much trouble. Also keep in mind our Crutchfield Tech Support can help you with the installation when you purchase the speakers from us.

Q
I just bought a pioneer stereo model: l: FH-X700BT. What door speakers do you recommend for this radio that will give me a good bass?
marco  Oct 26, 2014
2 answers
A
These are component speakers and are not designed for good bass. If you want good bass you need to also add a sub with a separate amp for the sub. If you try to play loud bass through these speakers you will get clipping which could damager the component speakers. (I assume you are powering these with an amp. If not, disregard my comment)

i would recommend Alpine SPS-610 Type S 6 3/4" 2-way car speakers.

To be honest with you, I purchased all SPR-60 Co-Axial, SPR 60C Component Speaker Set, and a set of the SPR-69 . However, what I have heard and seen. You could not go wrong with these speakers for your stock stereo system. However, if your just looking to make a change of speakers and your stock speakers are working. I would wait and I would save my money up until I could get a "Quality" Alpine AMP to put with these speakers. Most factory Systems are not so good that I might even save up until I could also get a New Factory Head unit. However, if your factory speakers are blown then take a look at the SPS series and the SPR series and by you a pair of which ever one fits your wallet the best. You wil not be able to tell the difference between the two, if not driven by an AMP. Good Luck through search. Please do not hesitate to email me back if you have any questions. I'm going to shoot straight with you, my opinion is totally mine. I'm always going to tell you what I think and try to save you money at the same time. Type in you speaker of choice into "Google" and look at the difference in Prices compared at what you are actually looking at now I bet.... Also, when purchasing online, "ALWAYS" purchase the SQUARE-TRADE" warranty with every item you buy. The are a great warranty company. They even took back a set of speakers that I bought while they were still under the 1 year Factory warranty and sent all the needed return shippment labels and within 7-10 days I had my $185.00 back in my account. Also, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL BOXES.... Hope all of the above helps you. Later, R

Yes they should work fine. Alpine gives you wire adapters to connect to the OEM speaker wires. They work great. Good luck!

I installed them in my 2003 Silverado along with a new receiver. I cannot tell you if they will work with your stock stereo but if you are replacing one for one they should work. By the way, mine sound great!
david l  Feb 05, 2014
