The SPS-69C2 6"x9" speakers bring out all the details in your music with pivoting silk dome tweeters that direct clear highs to your ears without a hint of harshness. The aluminum-coated woofer cones move freely in the air-injected rubber surrounds for strong, accurate bass response.

Great Product for the money!

Written By carmar0125, Killeen, TX on Monday, April 06, 2009

Purchased these back in December and finally got them installed. Couldn't be happier with the crisp and clean sound. I have them powered with an Kicker 350.4 and have fulfilled my expectations by far. Great price. By no means do they take the job of a subwoofer but suffice for the time being till I can get a sub installed in my '08 Nissan Xterra.

Sad to see them be discontinued

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers were recommended by
Crutchfield, I now know why. I installed them behind the seat of my 62 Ranchero in a custom designed box. They thump. I powered them with an Alpine F250 Amp and this sytem is better then some of the higher end systems I built whe I was young and had great hearing...

My teenage daughter says the stereo is too loud, I find that hard to believe...

I told her it does have lower volume if she wants it that way, I will know how she really feels when I hear her driving up from a block away...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The pair of Alpine SPS-69C2's that I teamed with the Kenwood KDC-MP228 CD/MP3 unit that I got from Crutchfield made an exelent pairing. The sound quality improvement was dramatic across the full range, treble to bass. over the stock speakers in my '98 Neon RT. Installation was simple and the Dodge wire kit worked perfectly. It's hard not to crank up the volume and truely enjoy the high quaility sound while going down the road.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these after a previous upgrade that was a disapointment. They said they wouldn't fit in my doors, but the included grill spacer made them a perfect fit in my '98 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab. I was skeptical at first, but they exceded my expectations. Tight bass and crisp highs, a lot better clarity than the 5 1/4" Kenwoods I previously installed. I kept my other Kenwood 5 1/4" 3 way's in my rear side panels, gives it a surround sound feel.

I know they don't make components like they used to, but Alpine has never let me down in the past. Now I can't wait to install my 10" subs! Thanks Alpine! Thanks Crutchfield! Y'all hit the nail on the head this time!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these to replace the rear deck speakers on my 2007 Accord
Coupe. The Accord stock head unit is pretty good, but the rear speakers
had no high response due to the lack of tweater, and poor bass response
(muddy and distorted) due to the smallest speaker magnet I have ever
seen. The Alpine's have stronger, tigher bass and provide nice highs from
the rear of the car giving a more surround sound feel. Overall they are
louder, clearer, and make the stock system, even with the stock front
speakers, sound much better. Worth every penny!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers for my in-laws Honda Accord. I must say they exceeded my high expectations for the brand, especially at the low price. The bass is good at all sound levels and there is no distortion when the volume is all the way up. Best of all, the installation with the wiring harness provided by Crutchfield took 20 minutes for both rear speakers and this was only my second time replacing speakers in a car.

Nice and easy

Nice and easy to put in, good price. Great improvement! Wiring harness didn't fit. Simple fix to strip wires and put in! No soldering either way.

These speakers produce both great highs and solid bass. Now, my grandson in the backseat can be easily drowned out (LOL). Installation could not have been easier, the hardest part was getting my 52 year-old, 6' 1" frame in and out of the trunk. I love the speakers; my next purchase will be the Alpine speakers for my front doors and tweeters.

Don't be scared by the cheap price, nothing about these speakers are cheap. This is a great product. Nice crisp highs, and good strong base; these alpines pack some punch. Installation was a breeze because of the Crutchfield Mastersheet. Easily comparable to speakers priced up to 149.99. Enjoy.

Good Sound Good Value

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this pair for use in a 2003 Grand Am and they sound great. My deck is the Dual XHD-6425 which I'm also pleased with. In addition to the
Blue Tooth handsfree add-on, that deck and these speakers, which I consider a bargain.

Initially I was underwhelmed by the performance of these speakers, until I figured out that I needed to activate the radio's "Loudness" function. That's the function that puts emphasis on bass at lower volume levels. Once I turned on Loudness, the excellent sound of these speakers was apparent, including a more than adequate bass response. I would highly recommend these speakers to someone in the market for good speakers at a reasonable price.

I bought these for 50usd on sale from 100 a few months back. wow was i happy when they got set up. for people that dont have amps and are worried about it not sounding good- think again! i replaced the rear stock delco 6x9s in the back of my 02 alero and wow do these things bump. not only did it increase the volume a lot- it sounds amazing! at med volumes, the bass is deep. they punch pretty hard at high volumes even with the equilizer @ 0 for bass. i blew out my last delco 6x9s so im a little worried about pushing them too hard. my stereo plays at max volume all day- and after 5 months ive had 0 problems. great speakers!

Thanks Crutchfield for allowing me to break free from the extreme low quality rear speakers in my Accord. A standard cheap factory 6X9 paper coaxial= poor sound. Both factory speakers together weigh as much as the Box the Alpines' came in! I really can't compare these to any other aftermarket 6x9 I just know they are far far better than any Honda factory speaker. These Alpines' really woke up the sound in my car and at a great price! As always with Crutchfield prompt shipping, wire adapters, and instructions make for an easy install 15 minutes total. Thanks

These speakers are great with my new alpine mrp-f250 amp and new
clarion head unit. They sound great at low and high volumes. They play
very loud with no distoration and have great bass sounds like I have a sub
in my grand cherokee but I don't. The highs sound great and arn't harsh
sounding with the silk tweeters. Awsome value for the price and sound
better than speakers priced 100+.

I bought these speakers because they said Alpine, they were cheap
and...they were cheap. Absolutely amazing speakers. I'm a beginner with
basic knowledge of car audio and I have to say these speakers are really a
great buy for the money. No where else can you find speakers with such
good quality so cheap. Had a bit of difficulty at first but had a buddy help
me out and everything was smooth from there on out. They are being ran
off a Kenwood MP338 Head Unit another great buy. I would definetely
recommend these speakers.

Great Quality for the price

Written By lacroserocks, North Carolina on Monday, September 08, 2008

I bought these as a replacement for my stock rear deck speakers in my 1997 Honda Civic. I have a Pioneer DEH-4000UB.

At first I thought these speakers would just be alright, but when I hooked them up and heard them play I was amazed. Highs are crystal clear. Can get really loud before distorting. These 6x9's have plenty of bass response. Clear and hits hard. Can even feel it in your stomache.

Just make sure you set your equalizer up correctly. I wouldn't suggest running these speakers off a stock radio as that would just be dumb.

For the price, I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone with a small budget.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Reason why I gave this product a single star is purely based on the awful bass response. These speakers can not handle the lower frequency range. When the radio is turned up, all you hear is muffled bass. The highs and mids are decent. I would have thought Alpine only produces quality products...but my stock 98 Accord OEM speakers had better bass response. This is an utter disappointment. I can see why these speakers were offered at a discount.

For those who want to know, I was running these speakers off of a Sony head unit. 52x4 watts.

Amazing for the price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've always been a big fan of Alpine head unit but have never owned any speakers. I saw these speakers on sale for a cheap price and was very skeptical about it. After reading many positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. Wow... these are amazing speakers. They have good bass and very clear high range. I listen to rock as well as rap and these speakers response well to both types of music.

I am also very pleased with Crutchfield's customer services. They are awsome in helping me make the right decision. I was very surprised that my purchases came with sooooo many accessories to make installation easier. I have now become a loyal customer for my audio need. Thank you very much for the wonderful transaction!!!!

Amazing Sound Quality at an Unbeatable Price

Written By Matthew, Rockaway, NJ on Saturday, August 16, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After using Alpine CD players for several years, I decided to replace only the interior speakers in my 2002 Dodge Neon. I was always pleased and impressed with Alpine's CD Player's quality and outstanding reputation. With that being said, I decided to give a pair of the SPS-69C2's a shot, mostly because of the price, quality construction, silk dome tweeters, and Crutchfield's incredible reputation for service and support. Besides taking a few minutes to remove the Rear Deck trim and paneling, the installation was a breeze with the Wire Harnesses that were included. These speakers are only being powered by a Alpine CDA-9847 Head Unit, but they sound just as good with an external 4-Channel Amplifier. The silk dome tweeters produce a "life-like" sound which is rich and bold. The High's sound clean and smooth. The Mid's are well-balanced and harmonious. The Low's produce "light bass," which is all that they should do, because they are not designed to act or perform like a subwoofer. Overall, for the price, sound quality and construction, everything that is included, and Crutchfield's A+ support, this is a "Bargain Buy!!!" For the money, you can't get a better speaker if you only want to upgrade your interior speakers only!

Sound Super and They Fit!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Lets just start by saying these combined with my Alpine SPS-17C2 6-1/2"/6-3/4" sound great in my 05' Nissan Frontier. I started by replacing my Rear factory Blaupunkt Speakers. One of the Speakers started sounding scratchy so I decided to get the SPS-17C2's and clean up the sound. The 6-1/2"s sounded so good I decided to try and get the Front Speakers. They are 6"X9"s on my Nissan. I found these SPS-69C2's at a awesome price. The problem was for my Y/M/M the car outfitter was showing this product would not fit. I would not take no for an answer. I called Crutchfield got one of there Customer Service Reps. on the phone she looked up the Depth Specs. It was a minor fraction of a inch that the Speakers would not fit like .002! I decided to give them a try. Why not for the price? I replaced the Front Left first with the door disassembled and Speaker in turned the key rolled the window down and it worked. Smooth sailing from there! Put the door back together and did the same on the Left Front. So after all the SPS-69C2's did work and fit with no problems. My complete factory speakers are replaced accept the dash speakers with Alpine S-series. I would have to say it sounds superior. The Mid's and High's are quality for a great price$$ Some recommendations have Crutchfield Rep. email you color diagram for your Y/M/M before you get started that way you know positive and negative wires when not using a harness. Also make sure to pivot the silk dome tweeter to direct the sound.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These car speakers sound clear and loud. I have them hooked to a wheelchair system i made. The bass is not that loud at the deepest notes but it still thumps on the higher bass frequencies. The tweeter is the best part since it has a neodymium magnet and never distorts. Im powering them with a small sized 15 watts x 2 amp and it still pounds on that low amount of power.

Great speaks for low cash

Written By Patrick, Tucson, AZ on Saturday, August 02, 2008

these are good speakers if your running a mostly stock setup. these are great speakers if you have an aftermarket head unit pushing them as they run great at about 18 rms or more. overall good price, good speaker.

Written By Paul, Binghamton, NY on Friday, August 01, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very pleased with these speakers in my 98 civic coupe. The bass response is impressive as it reproduces frequencies that were just not there with my factory speakers. Maybe not as ground shaking like the bass of the factory speakers. This is because the factory speakers are made of paper and they produce more bass, but they lack any kind of clarity. That's where these come in. The tweeters bring back the clarity that I was missing with the factory 6X9s, and the quality is many times better. Great speaker if you're powering it straight from the head unit.

The price is killer too! If you're thinking about them..... do it.

Excellent Speakers for the Money!

Written By Tony, Long Island, NY on Monday, July 14, 2008

I just finiished installing these speakers in the rear deck my '07 Accord. The
installation was less than an hour. They litterally dropped right in and lined
up perfectly. With Crutchfield's Master Instruction Sheet the installation
was a snap. I have been changing speakers and radios in different cars
over the years as a Crutchfield customer. Their Master sheets and tech
support when needed are second to none. As others who have posted
about these speakers in the Accord's rear deck have said and I agree, they
make a very noticeable difference in sound at a lower volume setting no
less. And for the price, they're a great buy. Thanks

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have always been into good audio equipment, but these were my step into the realm of car audio (along with a pair of 6-1/2's for the front). I listen mostly to rock music so I figured the best bet was to upgrade the car speakers as opposed to the punks that just get some huge sub. I was into good sounding music, not my license plate falling off. The whole experience has me sort of confused. These cheap speakers coupled with a head unit that can dish out 50watts (20 RMS) per channel, sound fantastic. I have no clue why people would spend 5 times the amount I did on my system. Sure the music isn't crystal clear, but I am picky and it's pretty close, and lets face it, its in a car, there are lots of other sounds that hurt the quality of the sound anyway. I see some reviews that say the bass response isn't good...I'm not quite sure where they are getting that conclusion, because the moment you modify your EQ, there is a bass explosion. Everybody that gets in my car complements me on my sub, even though I don't have one. They also get painfully loud, I never crank them all the way up cause they would ruin your hearing. So if you are on a budget, look no further, don't waste your coin, these are plenty good.

Excellent Choice!!!

I installed a pair of these Alpine speakers in the rear deck of my 2003 Honda Accord Sedan. I must say that I am very pleased with their performance, especially for the reasonable price. The bass response is much better than the factory speakers and the tweeters provide very sharp highs. I listen to a lot of rock, and the speakers seem to be very well matched for that kind of music. I do not think you can go wrong with these speakers if you are interested in upgrading your car's audio while not spending a ton of cash.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently bought these to replace one of my rear speakers which were blown out. I am running these speaker with an Alpine deck with no external amp just yet. The speaker are pretty decent. They are slightly better than the stock speaker. Treble is better, and there is deeper bass. They weren't super awesome like I expected, but I bet my opinion will change if I ever install an amp. These speakers will definitely need an amp if you optimally want to push it.

I installed them in a 2000 accord. Install was a snap 30 minutes tops. For the money they are a very nice addition. The sound was very crisp and clear. They are a lot louder than the stock ones. I don't know about the bass output cause i have 2 10" in the trunk but for what I can hear the speakers blend very well with the subs. Over all I am pleased. For the money I couldn't pass them up.

Nice Improvement

Written By Ben, NJ on Thursday, February 07, 2008

I guess Crutchfield is closing these out. Just installed into the rear deck of an '07 Accord sedan. Agent recommended upgrading the fronts too, but I wasn't sure I could do the install. My system is completely stock, other than the rear Alpines.

Here is what I noticed:

Stock '07 Accord 6x9's have the smallest magnet I've ever seen in a 6x9 and do not have a tweeter or midrange - before, the volume level from the rear was not as loud as I would have liked - now the new Alpines are louder and volume matches the level from the stock front speakers. I also notice the highs coming from the rear that weren't there from the stocks.

The sound quality is better - the bass is crisper.

As I said, The crutchfield rep - suggested I change the front speakers too, and he is probably right - but the rears need it more - and although you can sometimes get "unmatched" sound mixing 2 sets of speakers - that is not the case here.

I am sticking with my stock system, so I won't be able to get the full potential from these Alpines, but at this price - one cannot say "no"!

I am happy with my purchase.

NOT better than '05 Elantra factory speakers

Written By William, Minnesota on Wednesday, February 06, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these thinking Alpine for cheap, why not? Well upon receiving the speakers I noticed a warning on the speaker package indicating that these speakers contain a "high- performance" tweeter. That being stated my 2005 Elantra GT has a component system in the doors.

These speaker were actually worse than my light weight factory speakers. The bass was terrible and the volume was worse. I even compared them by keeping the old factory installed with the alpine. I do not have an amp installed (yet) and am running a Kenwood KDC- MP4028 HU.

I am trying to stay cheap so I am going with the Sony GT6935A's.

Aluminum-coated Polypropylene Woofer Cones: Each speaker features an aluminum-coated polypropylene woofer. Aluminum adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Air-injected Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofers use air-injected rubber surrounds.

Silk Dome Swivel Tweeter: Each speaker uses a silk dome tweeter for smooth high frequencies. The speaker features a swivel/angle tweeter design for better imaging and livelier sound in your vehicle.

Wave-Guide Design: The Type-S speakers feature a wave-guide grill design over the tweeter for better in-cabin sound expansion and less distortion. The angle of the tweeter wave-guide complements the angle of the surround guard (when used with the supplied grilles), resulting in linear expansion of sound and less distortion of mid and high frequencies.

Mounting Rings: Without any adapter, the speakers are standard 6"x9" top mounts. The supplied adapter rings allow the speakers to be installed in a bottom mount application.
