Alpine BassLine Series 10" subwoofer

The tough steel frame helps to keep your bass punchy and accurate.

Built Alpine tough

Alpine's BassLine SWA-10S4 10” sub comes equipped with a rigid polypropylene/mica cone that won't flex under high volumes and cause distortion, while its poly-foam surround will last for years to come. The tough steel frame offers the stability you need to keep the bottom tight during intense bass sessions. This sub handles up to 250 watts RMS and its 4-ohm impedance makes it a great match for most amplifiers.

Need an amp for this sub? Check out this Crutchfield-approved bass package.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 200 and 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

PWR Cone Design: This BassLine subwoofer's patent-pending Progressive Wavelet Ribs (PWR) cone design helps break up standing waves and cone resonances to keep distortion low. The sub uses a polypropylene and mica damped cone assembly and a high-excursion poly-foam surround.

Progressive Polyester Spider: The progressive polyester spider provides accurate control of the subwoofer cone motion.

Two-Piece Yoke: The two-piece yoke uses a vented pole to provide improved air flow and help cool the voice coil.

Spring Terminals: The spring post terminals accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume range is from 0.65 cubic feet to 1.0 cubic feet, with 0.83 cubic feet being the ideal size.

Ported Box Volume: The recommended ported box volume range is from 1.0 cubic feet to 1.75 cubic feet. The ideal size is 1.51 cubic feet, using a slot port measuring 10-1/2" (W) x 1" (H) x 17" (L).

I had a mtx jackhammer at 200rms Max rating. It blew when listening to loud bass the other day after having this for a few yrs. Will the alpine handle my jvc-ksax4302?

It most certainly will. I have 2 alpine bass line subs in my 06 GMC Sierra with an alpine 500 watt sub amp. The feel & the clear bass from those subs are well worth the money. I highly recommend them if you're looking for some good clean solid bass. I wish I had got the 12's now but those 10's pack one heck of a punch!!????????

I am using a sealed box. I only have one 10" and I'm using a 200 watt MTX amp. I have it installed in my GMC Denali. Nice clean sounds and not over bearing.
perry  Jan 17, 2015

250 watt rms per sub. Go by that. I put a 250 watt amp to 2 of these n it works pretty good be better with a 500 watt n I have a sealed box.
joshua s  Jan 15, 2015

Sealed is definitely the appropriate enclosure for this sub. I run 2 in a custom built box in an F150 Supercrew using an Alpine MRV 500 bridged to 2 ohm and it produces plenty of bass for the cabin of my truck.

My daughter has them in a sealed medium size generic box in the trunk of a newer Ford Focus. Powered by alpine mrp 500 mono amp. They beat pretty good
lane  Jan 15, 2015

You can go either sealed or ported, but make sure you follow the specs for both. I'm personally running 2 of these 10 inch in a sealed box under the back seat of my 07 Silverado LT and they sound great. I was quite impressed with them. I'm powering them with an Alpine MRP-M500 and it seems to do just fine.
