The tough steel frame helps to keep your bass punchy and accurate.

Built Alpine tough

Alpine's BassLine SWA-12S4 12” sub comes equipped with a rigid polypropylene/mica cone that won't flex under high volumes and cause distortion, while its poly-foam surround will last for years to come. The tough steel frame offers the stability you need to keep the bottom tight during intense bass sessions. This sub handles up to 250 watts RMS and its 4-ohm impedance makes it a great match for most amplifiers.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

PWR Cone Design: This BassLine subwoofer's patent-pending Progressive Wavelet Ribs (PWR) cone design helps break up standing waves and cone resonances to keep distortion low. The sub uses a polypropylene and mica damped cone assembly and a high-excursion poly-foam surround.

Progressive Polyester Spider: The progressive polyester spider provides accurate control of the subwoofer cone motion.

Two-Piece Yoke: The two-piece yoke uses a vented pole to provide improved air flow and help cool the voice coil.

Spring Terminals: The spring post terminals accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume range is from 0.75 cubic feet to 1.5 cubic feet, with 1.09 cubic feet being the ideal size.

Ported Box Volume: The recommended ported box volume range is from 1.5 cubic feet to 2.5 cubic feet. The ideal size is 1.91 cubic feet, using a slot port measuring 12-1/2" (W) x 1" (H) x 10" (L).

My husband has 2 on a 1500 watt so you should be fine.

Great I have a 500 monoblock hooked to two of them your 600 is fine to Enter
daniel  Jul 21, 2017

But then again, I think you might be ok reading other questions and answers for these subs...think they can handle the 600 watt rms fine, according to others have 600-800 amps, so best of luck and I know these subs POUND!!!!
randall  Jul 21, 2017
A
That would be pushing it...believe peak is 250 watts rms...if you pushing 2 at 300 watts rms. believe that might blow the woofer quickly/possibly, even if you have your gain low...Peak watts is around 700-750...these are good subs, but I feel for your application you might need to go bigger handling subs.
randall  Jul 21, 2017
A
Pretty safe considering they are each 250 watts each. I have a similar setup
jeremy  Jul 21, 2017
A
You would probably be fine doing that if thats what you have. I wouldnt go more than that, but like crutchfield says, it should be powered 75-150 percent of rms power of subs. (Not sure if the 75 is correct, but 150 is) So you will be fine.

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
I am needing a sub for a phoenix gold zx 600 ti zeropoint amp at 4 ohm bridged was wondering if this sub would b up to the task?thanks
saul  Mar 01, 2015

A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: While you would not want to power the Alpine sub with this amp in bridged mode because it cannot be wired to a 4-ohm load, it will work fine if you run one voice coil per channel. This will give you 150 watts per voice coil and that would work fine for this sub. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
I am looking to buy as a gift. This would be the first subwoofers to be added to their car. I want to get two subs. I'm just afraid that getting this cheaper one would make me look like I just got the cheapest one, so is it really way good for the money or should I get some of the lower end JL Audios or Rockford Fosgates?

I have two 12iinch Alpine subs on a 800watt Pioneer mono amp and it will tear your car apart. They are awesome subs.

I put a set of the lower end Alpine subs in my dad's boat. They sound great aas long as you build the right size box and have a good amp, as with all speakers distortion is the big killer.
brandon  Dec 20, 2013
Q
Okay so I'm looking to buy 2 12 inches, and I actually have two questions. One, do you prefer this in a sealed or ported box? Please explain why. And two, what amp do you recommend if I do buy 2 12 inches?

I have two Alpine 12 inch subs and the are awesome for the price.I have them in Dodge Charger in a ported box.I have a 800 watt Pioneer mono amp and they will kick your head in. I would not use moor that a 1000 watt RMS amp. My Pioneer is 800watts RMS and it will nock your head in. Good luck with your system .

speakers in ported boxes require more air space and more power but are generally louder than sealed boxes. sealed boxes can usually be smaller and sound quite well with less power. I have always like sealed boxes because they have a tendency to be less noisy than ported boxes. get a good mono amp with enough power to meet the requirements of the subs of your choice. Always remember though that too much power IS ALWAYS better than not enough power. Distortion will kill a speaker WAY faster than being overpowered.
