Alpine Authorized Online Dealer

Amazing Alpine sound, great SiriusXM programming

The CDE-SXM145BT CD receiver gives you the great sound you expect from Alpine, plus SiriusXM satellite radio's amazing variety of music, sports, news, and entertainment.

The SiriusXM programming (subscription required) comes through the SXV200 SiriusXM tuner that's included with this receiver. You'll also enjoy these convenient features:

  • iTunes® Tagging, which allows you to mark songs for purchase later at the iTunes store;
  • SiriusXM Replay™ for pause, rewind and replay of up to 60 minutes of live content;
  • Song Alert and Artist Alert, which constantly scans all channels for your favorites;
  • and Game Alert™ which lets you know when your favorite NFL, NBA, NHL or college teams is playing live.

The CDE-SXM145BT also includes Tune Scan and Tune Start, which let you rewind and replay content you might have missed while listening to another channel. Tune Scan lets you quickly preview what's playing on each of the 6 preset channels on your selected band preset. When you hear something you like, Tune Start buffers up to 30 minutes of programming, so you can back up and play your song from the beginning.

Built-in Bluetooth™

Hands-free calling isn't just a convenience these days, it's practically a necessity. The CDE-SXM145BT includes built-in Bluetooth, so you can talk safely and stream music from Pandora Internet Radio using your iPhone.

Great for your stored iPod® and iPhone® content, too

Of course, you can also use the receiver controls to navigate your iPod's music library — just plug in your device to the convenient front-panel USB input and get ready to rock out (or chill out, depending on your preference). Alpine's rotary encoder makes really easy to find your favorite songs, albums, artists, or playlists quickly. Your copilots will love Passenger Control Mode, which lets them play DJ while you focus on driving.

App Direct Mode opens up more music

If you have an iPhone®, you know that the music you've stored on it is only part of the story — streaming apps let you tune into a plethora of music and other programs. The CDE-SXM145BT features App Direct Mode, which gives you access to select music apps. App Direct Mode offers limited control over your apps, with features such as play/pause and next track.

Ready for expansion

A powerful internal amp gives you plenty of headroom to turn up the volume without the sound getting distorted and harsh. You can adjust the overall tone to taste with the 3-band parametric EQ, which allows you to choose the centerpoint for your bass, midrange, and treble controls.

Alpine CDE-SXM145BT CD receiver

This Alpine's user-friendly controls make it easy to operate on the road.

If you want to take the performance up another notch, you can plug Alpine's KTP-445A Power Pack directly into to the CDE-SXM145BT. This plug-and-play powerhouse kicks up the output to a robust 45 watts RMS per channel, but it requires almost no wiring and takes up very little space. If you want to bring on the bass, this Alpine also features two sets of RCA preamp outputs, perfect for adding a powered sub or an amp.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Great product, much better than GM C5 Corvette came with. Sirius satelite is a real bonus. Much better use of the Bose speakers that came with the car, e.g. adjustable subwoofers on each speaker

Great product, much better than GM C5 Corvette came with. Sirius satelite is a real bonus. Much better use of the Bose speakers that came with the car, e.g. adjustable subwoofers on each speaker

Pros: sound, separate subwoofers, base, midrange and treble adjustments, Sirius satelite

Had to install item 4 times till I got it right. An online video differed from instructions that were included. The standard trim ring that comes with the unit was the problem. The instructions need to be made clearer on what should be done.

    Pros: Ease of use

I love Alpine products and have since I was a teen! I purchased my first head unit in 1984 and have not looked back since. I have never purchased anything but Alpine for good reason! They are the best! This unit is no different and I love its ease of use, installation and amazing quality. The sound even in my stock speakers in the RV are great....I was considering upgrading but with the super high quality Alpine unit I do not need to. Simply the best!

Pros: Ease of use, easy to install, fantastic quality!

    Disappointing Quality, Awful Installation experience

Dirk B. from San Francisco, CA on 4/29/2016

    2007 Honda CRV EX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second or third purchase from Crutchfield and likely my last. I purchased this Alpine system to get Sirius/XM and hands free bluetooth in my car. I also purchased the installation because I am not savvy with this stuff. The installation was fast but I was a little disappointed that the microphone for the bluetooth was just plugged into the auxilary input and clamped to the air vent instead of being installed from the back and the wire fitted around the windshield to the rear-view mirror. Oh well. A couple of months later the unit fell back into the dash about two inches. I called Crutchfield who referred me to their installation contractor who had me send them pictures of the problem. The installer came back and reinstalled the unit. A week later the Sirius antennae wire began to droop into the knee well on the passenger side and a couple weeks later it detached. I called the contractor directly but never got a call back. At nearly the same time the unit stopped reading out the names of stations, artists, time, etc. It will only show the actual station dial location. I managed to get the antennae attached again myself but am super disappointed in the entire transaction and would not do it again.

Pros: Good sound quality. Fairly easy to use.

Cons: No integrated bluetooth microphone. Bad installation...twice. Unit stops giving. Most text display features stopped working after a few months. iTunes tagging not working. Buttons are very small.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Install went smoothly, skipped the steering wheel adapter, never use it . Had a problem with a door speaker dropping out with the old factory unit--still got it. Have to go back into the dash and check wiring. Wish Crutchfield would supply the crimp-on connectors that are shown in the directions. Could only find butt connectors for sale in my hood, and they are not convincing.

Crutchfield response on April 27, 2016 Crutchfield does indeed sell crimp connector kits and Posi-Product connectors that can help with car stereo installations.

Great radio at a great price

Sam S from San Juan Bautista, CA on 4/10/2016

    2010 Chrysler Town and Country
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was a replacement for the failing factory radio in my wife's van. She wanted controls and features that were similar to original. The Alpine had everything she needed and more. We gave up on AM/FM years ago as it is all commercials and static. So the included satellite receiver and the dual aux ports were essential. We may utilize the Blue Tooth down the road.

Pros: I liked that the satellite receiver was included. My wife likes it and that's what my goal was.

Cons: I'm a little disappointed with the display text. Since I couldn't get the CD-rom instructions to play on any of our computers, I may just be missing a critical step in the set up.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product! This stereo was for my son's first vehicle. I bought and installed an Alpine stereo in my first car, about 30 yrs ago, and I wanted to do the same with my son. So it was as much about the experience and time with my son as it was about the stereo. Alpine once again does not disappoint. Great sound and with obvious more features, such as Bluetooth connectivity and satellite radio. Easy to install, sounds incredible but navigating thru set-up is time consuming.

    Pros: Install, sound, looks great

    Cons: Set-up, just challenging

    Alpine Fan

    ARchitect from California on 1/1/2016

    2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been an Alpine fan for over 20 years and the CDE-SXM145BT - my latest - does not disappoint. I bought this head unit to replace the factory unit in my 2006 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited with the 7 speaker system. It has a small sub-woofer in the console, 5 1/4" overhead and 4x6 two-ways in the dash. When I decided to replace the factory head unit - due to the volume knob ceasing to work properly - I planned a staged, total system replacement. The Alpine was to be the first step. However, after installing it, the whole system came alive. Suddenly, my factory speakers didn't sound so weak. I heard highs they had never produced before, and the little 6 3/4" sub wasn't such a sorry excuse anymore. Now its nothing like a pair of 12" fed by a 1500 watt amp, but the difference for the factory unit was amazing. I'll likely keep the factory cones a little longer - at least until the "new" becomes "normal". Then I'll upgrade the speakers and get to experience the "new" all over again. Thanks Crutchfield.

Pros: Easy replacement of factory unit. Crutchfield supplied all of the wiring harness, antenna adapter, mounting adapter and vehicle specific instructions as a matter of course AND for free, so that I got everything I needed to install it without having to reorder to get the parts I didn't know I needed. That is true front-end Customer Service. I won't go anywhere else.

    Cons: Not one

    Alpine CDE-SXM145BT

    Martin from Missouri on 12/16/2015

    2010 Dodge Grand Caravan
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to replace the factory unit in my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. It's a nice unit, but it's a lot more difficult to operate than the factory unit. I like the fact that it scans the text for the Sirius XM tuner. But it quits scanning after it scans through the info one time. For instance, it will scan "Bluegrass Junction" one time. Then it stops scanning and just says, "Bluegrass." I know these are minor issues. I like the setting that lets me set the FM tuner, Sirius Satellite tuner, and CD player to compensate for different volume levels. Overall, it's a nice unit. I also like the factory preset eq. And an automatic volume adjustment would be nice.

Pros: Love the sound. It's much better than the factory unit. Installation was pretty simple and straight forward.

Cons: The buttons are small and hard to see at night. I wish it had two knobs, a volume and a tuner knob. Some of the settings are a little hard to understand, but a careful review of the instructions clears it up. There are gaps around the face plate. Also the shiny metal of the din sleeve was visible around the edges until I removed the face plate and used a black magic marker so the shiny metal wasn't visible. Again just some minor issues.

    Check antenna

    Jimmy from California on 12/11/2015

The sirius XM portion of the radio keeps losing signal, states check antenna, then suddenly comes back on. The 3 sirius bands keep getting jammed so you are unable to switch bands and are stuck with only 6 pre-sets instead of 18. The unit definitely has problems which show poor workmanship in design. Better off with a unit without sirius radio. Would not buy another Alpine. Very cheaply made, you get what you pay for.

    Pros: Cheap unit, looks nice

Cons: Poor quality of workmanship, channels jam up and signal on satellite keeps dropping out. Sound quality very poor compared to other similar radios not made by Alpine. Cannot recall pre-set satellite channels.

    2003 Jeep Wrangler
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm no audiophile, but I installed this in a 2003 Wrangler and the difference over the stock head unit was amazing. Installation was a 'real' snap with the supplied instructions and add-on harness. I installed without any additional amp and it's great, but I also ordered the Alpine KTP-445A amp later to boost the lower end. No real dings on not giving 5 starts, I just reserve that ranking for stuff that completely blows me away. Great unit, easy to install, lots of functions and features that are beyond my understanding, but for plug-n-play it's great. I'll get somebody to explain what 3Band EQ does and how adjusting the high and low band filters make a difference (if I tried to adjust them, what am I listening for ?).

    Pros: Easy install Great sound

    Cons: None so far

    Not bad...slightly disappointed

MB E320 from North Carolina on 8/9/2015

    2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was disappointed with the sound quality. My OEM radio for my 2001 Mercedes E320 died on me so I had to get a new radio. I wanted satellite radio so I bought this one based on the reviews. The E320 came with a Bose system, and the sound quality of the original was very good, good bass and a clear sound. The Alpine does not deliver the same deep clean sound. I played around with the equalizer, but it doesn't help. Also, the OEM radio stayed on when the engine was off when the ignition was on the "aux" position. With the new Alpine, the radio shuts off when I shut off the engine. The Alpine will only stay on when the engine is on.

Pros: Satellite radio. Easy to use.

Cons: -Sound quality on my MB E320 is not very good. -The engine has to be on in order for the radio to work.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price it is a good unit- The directions for installation were very inadequate. I had to call Crutchfield 4 times to get it installed. The biggest issue is that you have to solder all the connections on the adapters and the instructions don't give you enough information! The good news they are great about helping you! You might think the rebate is on the unit itself, but the rebate is actually for 3 months of SiriusXM service.

    Pros: The price and sound

Cons: Bad directions and the connectors should be prewired.

    Amazing product!

THis radop was an upgrade that replaced an OEM unit without XM or Bluetooth. I am very happy with it. Install was pretty smooth. My only gripes are the limited display and tiny control buttons but to pack this much functionality into a unit this small they don't have much choice. Buy this unit is you are considering something in this range. You will be happy.

    Pros: Functionality

Cons: Display is limited Control buttons are small

    Very happy with this Alpine

I am very happy with this Alpine unit especially the interface to the included Sirius module. I am still learning all of the operations but think this single din system is just what I needed to replace the early 2000 factory head unit in my car. Works well, sounds good and was a great value.

Pros: Ease of operation and installation.

Cons: Preset channels are limited but not a big issue. Ambiant/automatic volume adjustment would be nice to have.

Took the stock system to a whole nother level. The speakers aren't muddy or quiet any more, in fact I've already blow 2 of the factory speakers all of which I'm about replace anyway.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I chose five stars for overall value since this whole kit came up with a great price and included SIrius/XM tuner. This was for my wife's car and she, being a theater person, has to have show tunes nearly all of the time except for when it's time for Sinatra. Sound quality could be a touch better but for this price, we're cool with it. Ease of use is where the problem comes in. When she tries to use voice dial, it never seems to get the name right. This means a whole lot more time with eyes on the stereo instead of on the road. Coolness factor- well, it looks like an after market stereo in a semi-luxury class car. Build quality is pretty good but the controls are not as intuitive as they could be. One note, it is hard to read the display on a sunny day but I did not count off for this because that is a problem with the way the car is designed not the stereo. I just wanted to mention that for people reading the review and did not count off for it.

Pros: Has every feature she wants in a car stereo head unit.

Cons: Voice deal leaves a lot to be desired.

    Good unit with caveats

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an overall fine unit that has all of the features I wanted. Overall sound quality is fabulous paired with Infiniti REF6502ix and Infiniti 3002cfx speakers (no amp). BT pairing with my iPhone worked without a hitch. I did notice that hands free call sound quality suffered as compared to my stock unit. Callers just don't sound as good as with my Toyota unit, and of course, I had to string the relatively ugly microphone which is now sticking out of my headliner. So if you want a great sounding unit full of what I'd consider nowadays to be pretty essential features, I'd say this is a great unit to buy. But, I have a few gripes. First off, the buttons on this unit just feel cheap. I'd go so far as to call them poor quality. You push them and get a fairly dissatisfying click. Sometimes you have to mash them to get them to work. Changing bands is a pain as the button isn't completely responsive. It is actually a little distracting to have to look down and find the smallish button and then watch to see if pushing it actually changed the band for you as expected. My second gripe is that the tuner doesn't seem to stay on the band you have it set. For example, start the vehicle listening to a station on SiriusXM band 2 and hit the button for another station on SiriusXM band 2 and you get the station programmed on that button on SiriusXM band 1. What? Why? PITA in my opinion.

    Pros: Sound quality Seamless bluetooth

Cons: Button quality (cheap feel and not a decisive action) Doesn't stay on previously selected band.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace the stock radio in my Suburban. What a great addition! The sound is much clearer, the base is cleaner and the basic functions are easy to use after you read the quick start guide. I purchased this so I can connect my Iphone via Bluetooth to get my music and also have a hands free phone setup. Installation was straight forward and took about 2 hours total for someone with minimal experience. I had one small hitch during the install (wire was a different color than was indicated on the installation sheet). Literally a quick 3 minute call to Crutchfield and he very simply solved the problem. I was amazed at his knowledge and how quickly he was able to trouble shoot and verify that I was looking at the correct wire regardless of color. The controls are very simple to use once you understand what you are doing. I wouldn't call it intuitive but it is not terribly hard either. My only real complaint is that it doesn't come with a full users manual, they include a disc instead. Not the best way to get info on your radio when you are setting it up and learning the features. My phone (4S) pairs easily with the radio and I have been told that the call quality is like being on the phone and not hollow sounding on the other end like a speaker phone. The CD player handles the bumps well and I have yet to have it skip or have a problem due to road vibration. I am pleased with this unit and would buy another one like it should the need ever arise.

Pros: Easy to use with the main 4 buttons together and easy to reach without distracting you from driving. Wonderful sound quality with factory speakers. Great phone features. Screen is easily read in both day and night situations

Cons: It needs to come with a full manual Would like a choice of colors for the screenlighting (only has blue).

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've wanted to get an Alpine setup for quite a while, but haven't pulled the trigger until this one. I am STOKED that I did. Install in my 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Wagon was a snap with the kits and docs. The Sirius tuner was a huge bonus, and it came with 3 months of free service (with a 6 month agreement.) Just taking that offer combined with the tuner into consideration, this thing is a steal for the price. Works great with IPhone apps (Spotify, TuneIn Radio, Pandora, a ton of others) via Bluetooth and USB, the Sirius tuning functionality was easy to understand once I signed up and played around with it, and I really love the handsfree functionality. I did have a bit of trouble determining which input on the back was for the handsfree would have been nice if it were labeled, but easy enough to fix. I've also got an AM radio station that I tune into occasionally here in Atlanta, and my reception on the entire AM band is almost non-existent, which kind of sucks...I can get the same content via the TuneIn app, and stream directly over Bluetooth, so no real problem there. I coupled this unit with some replacement speakers for my front doors (Alpine SPS-510 5-1/4" 2-way Speakers) and they are the peanut butter to the CDE-SXM145BT's jelly. Great sound, simple EQ interface If you're thinking about getting a new receiver with Bluetooth, CD with MP3/WMA capability, USB port, and a SiriusXM tuner, you can't beat this one for the price. Thanks, Crutchfield!

Pros: Feature set, easy to install, sounds amazing, SiriusXM tuner / trial

Cons: AM reception, Mic port labeling (it's the top port, if anyone's curious!)

I purchased this to replace my factory Infinity system with NAV since my speakers were shot and it no longer would read the map DVD. The Alpine sounds great with my new Kenwood speakers and looks good. its a much cleaner look than factory with a plug n play SAT radio I had. I love that the sat tuner was part of the package. install was not that hard except the jeeps wiring needed adapted but instructions were provided, once I had that and took my time it all was working good. Call quality so far with the hands free is good people seem to know they are on speaker phone but say they can hear me clearly unlike some devices I tried. BT audio play back is great with my Galaxy S3. it even begins playback where I stopped, even can changed tracks with my steering wheel controls. the tuner seems real good, it picks up lots of stations even with only my 13" off road style antenna. Again SAT radio controls built in is just awesome to me. Satellite sound quality is good as well. I have not used the CD player much or usb function but I'm sure those features work well too.

Pros: Satellite tuner included good hands free call quality decent on board power, but some that want more bass should get an amp and sub, I am ok with it as is. Plenty of other features for the price steering wheel control ready 2 sets of pre-amp outputs to expand your system

Cons: not color a changeable display display areas requires you to choose only one thing to display when in SAT mode (channel name, artist, song title) artist and title would be nice, but display is very readable. I would have preferred a double din head unit to this but one would not easily fit in the vehicle so this is an OK compromise.

I replaced an older Alpine that came with the car originally. I now have much improved sound, plus the SiriusXM radio function which I wanted. The CD player works nicely also. It is a bit tedious to use. I looked around a lot, and this was the only radio I found that did the things I want.

Pros: Great reception, getting all kinds of stations that I did not get before. Many functions. Good sound, and easily adjusted. Display is very readable. Overall the product looks very good

Cons: Understanding how to set the various functions is not obvious. I spent a lot of time with the manual trying to figure it out, but eventually got all working. I do not like that they do not provide a manual, but make you print out one from the CD provided if you want it. Going through the various functions (Tuner, CD, etc.) is in one direction only, and cannot reverse. Thus takes a while to find what you want sometimes.

I'm a big fan of Alpine but this unit might change that opinion. I don't know if Ive received a bad unit or not but so far i have nothing good to say about it. The cd skips over bumps, I get nothing but complaints because of the sound quality when I use the BT feature which my phone, the XM signal constantly cuts out (my previous unit did have any problems), and at times Ill get a "Check Tuner" message on the display and it becomes totally useless. Looks like I'm a minority when it comes to liking this product but I hope you have better luck then I did. So sorry I bought it.

I bought this to replace a Toyota factory head unit. The sound quality is excellent, I have much cleaner, louder sound just using the factory amplifier and speakers. It has a great variety of inputs, and linking the Bluetooth with my phone is simple. I like that once it's been linked, all I have to do is get in my truck and it's linked and ready to go. There are plenty of options for tweeking the sound, but the built in EQ settings are fine for 95% of what I listen to. My only quibble with the unit is that when I'm listening to satellite radio, the unit doesn't scroll the song title and artist, but that is really a minor thing.

Very nice sounding, feature laden unit. Plenty of power for a smaller vehicle. Read the easy to follow manual first.

Pros: Lots of features. Nice, clean sound.

Cons: Lots of features - don't attempt to learn some of the more obscure functions while driving. Some of the functions are not intuitive.

Old factory radio was an AM/FM cd player with a failing CD player. I needed an upgrade and wanted blue tooth to talk on the phone when I drive, hands free required in Nevada by law. The Alpine was a perfect match to my needs, all the features, good price, enough power to replace the factory radio. The master sheet and adaptors were free, fits perfect, worked really well, the only thing I had to look at the instructions for was where to plug in the mic. and how to set the clock. Great piece of hardware at a very fair price.

Pros: looks good, with free crutchfield adaptors the install takes very little time sounds great!

Cons: buttons are a little small for my big fingers

I am thrilled with my new SiriusXM/FM/USB/Bluetooth/multi-input car radio! Before, I had a Sirius radio for years with the wires running all through the car and the wire going out the window to the antenna. This radio will access more music and information than I have even figured out so far. It was my birthday gift and the best one I ever received! The Crutchfield connection is wonderful. They have a network of installers and a web setup that makes it all so easy. I would definitely use Crutchfield for anything to do with car audio in the future. They are so helpful and cooperative!

Pros: Removable - includes a case to keep the "face" in ; so many aspects to it that it can do 'most anything. I love Sirius and there's an antenna, of course, but it's wireless as is the microphone. It took about 2 hours to install it - very reasonable.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This radio on the surface is wonderful and beautiful. It looks great in my 05 mustang. It looks a lot better than other aftermarket radios. Make sure you know how many watts your radio speakers produce. This alpine radio puts out only a few watts, 18 I THINK. That was lower than my FACTORY speakers. The sound sounded close to terrible. The highs and lows sounded excellent but the bass was almost absent in Bluetooth, fm/am, Sirius, and pandora audio. The sound sounded better in disc audio. The factory radio sounded better, no question. I love that this radio comes with Sirius and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth feature is great. I don't have to connect and disconnect my phone every time I get in the car. It is convenient. Overall, this is a beautiful looking radio with great features, but if you wanted better sound than your factory radio like I did, make sure you check the wattage. You don't want to get a lower wattage, it will sound light and not good at all.

Pros: Sirius xm radio, Bluetooth, looks sexy

Cons: Low wattage sound, small display space

    iPod/Aux Integration

iPod/iPhone USB 1-Wire Connection: You can connect your iPod or iPhone to the head unit's front-panel USB port using the Alpine KCU-445i iPod/iPhone cable (500KCU445I, sold separately) or the iPod/USB cable that came with your iPod/iPhone to get access to all of your iPod/iPhone's stored music, right from the head unit. If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. Using either cable allows audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of select iPod/iPhone models from the CDE-SXM145BT.

    • Audio Playback w/ DAC Bypass: The Alpine CDE-SXM145BT supports audio playback of music, podcast, and audiobook files stored on your iPod or iPhone; as well as music apps downloaded on your Apple device. The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's large music libraries to be loaded instantly to the Alpine head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 1-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 105dB.
    • Music Navigation: You can choose to control the iPod/iPhone from the head unit or from your iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen (App Direct Mode).
      • Head Unit: The Alpine CDE-SXM145BT lets you navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Podcast, Composer, Audiobook, or Genius Mix. You can then search these categories alphabetically. For especially big music libraries, the Percentage Search function uses the preset buttons for quick jumps to specific parts of the list (Preset 1: 0-6%, Preset 2: 17-32%, Preset 3: 33-49%, Preset 4: 50%-66%, Preset 5: 67-82%, Preset 6: 83-100% of the song library). The head unit also offers three Shuffle playback modes (Album/Song/All) and one Repeat mode (song).
      • App Direct Mode: In App Direct Mode, you can navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen. You can also listen to your favorite music apps (such as Pandora, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Rhapsody, & Slacker) from your iPhone (iOS 3.0+) through the Alpine head unit. Basic playback functions, such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track are available from the head unit. You will continue to use your iPhone's touchscreen to navigate advanced functions of your music apps. Not all apps will be compatible with this mode. Access to your iPhone's downloaded applications will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet.
    • Information Display: The CDE-SXM145BT will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information when you are controlling your iPod/iPhone from the Alpine head unit or the Apple devices clickwheel/touchscreen. The head unit will display Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album label. The unit will also display station identification and song/artist information from select music apps.
    • iPod/iPhone Charging: While connected and the ignition switch is set to ACC or ON, the head unit's USB connection will power and charge your iPod/iPhone. If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it. This unit does not charge the iPad.

    Audio Section

CEA-2006 Compliant: The specifications given by Alpine for the built-in amplifier comply with the CEA-2006 mobile amplifier power testing and measurement standards from the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). All manufacturers who comply with the standard can display the CEA-2006 logo on their product.

    • CEA-2006 Power Rating: 18 watts x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Max Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels

4ch/2V Preamp Outputs: The Alpine CDE-SXM145BT features two pair of 2.0-volt preamp outputs. The unit's rear preamp outputs can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs with a low-pass filter, phase adjustment, and output level control.

Note: When an external amplifier is connected sound quality can be improved by stopping the power supply of the built-in amplifier.

Head Unit Power Pack (optional): Add the KTP-445A (500KTP445A, sold separately) Head Unit Power Pack to deliver 45 watts x 4-channel RMS of power. The KTP-445A is compact enough to install behind the Alpine CD receiver. It plugs in-line with the head unit's wiring harness, so you don't even need additional wires.

Subwoofer Control: When the non-fading subwoofer preamp output is activated, you can adjust the subwoofer's volume, low-pass filter, & phase.

    • Volume: There are two volume (system) modes for the unit's subwoofer output.
      • System 1: Subwoofer level changes according to the main volume setting.
      • System 2: Subwoofer level change is different from the main volume setting (0-15); even at low volume settings, the subwoofer is still audible.
    • Low Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer output low-pass filter can be set to 60Hz, 80Hz, 120Hz, 160Hz, or Off (through).
    • Subwoofer Phase: The subwoofer output phase can be set to Normal (0°) or Reverse (180°).

High Pass Filter: The Alpine head unit is equipped with a high-pass filter for its speaker-level output and front-channel preamp output (when activated). You can set the unit's high-pass filter to 60Hz, 80Hz, 120Hz, 160Hz, or Off (through).

Preset EQ: You can select from 11 different EQ presets to get the best sound from all your sources. You can choose from Flat, Pops, Rock, News, Jazz, Electric Dance, Hip-Hop, Easy Listening, Country, Classical, or User.

3-Band Parametric Equalizer: The User Preset activates the head unit's 3-Band Parametric Equalizer for a better sound response curve. Bass, Mid, & Treble can be adjusted in the 3-Band Parametric mode.

    3-Band EQ
    Frequency Q-Factor Level
    Bass 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 120Hz Wide 0.5, Medium 1.0, Medium 1.5, or Narrow. 2.0 -7 to +7 (+/-14dB in 2dB steps)
    Midrange 500Hz, 1.0kHz, 1.5kHz, or 2.5kHz Wide 0.75, Medium 1.0, Medium 1.25, or Narrow 1.5 -7 to +7 (+/-14dB in 2dB steps)
    Treble 7.5kHz, 10kHz, 12.5kHz, or 15kHz Wide 0.75 or Narrow 1.25 -7 to +7 (+/-14dB in 2dB steps)
Note: The units stores independent EQ settings for each source (Disc, Tuner, Aux, USB, iPod, and Bluetooth).

Loudness: Loudness introduces a special low and high frequency emphasis at low listening levels to compensate for the ear's decreased sensitivity to bass and treble sound at low volume.

Media Xpander: Alpine's exclusive Media Xpander is engineered to bring out the musical details lost in compressed media, and it is adjustable per source to get the most out of your digital audio media. The Media Expander makes vocals or instruments sound distinct regardless of the music source. The FM radio, CD, USB, iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth, and Aux-input will be able to reproduce the music more clearly even in vehicles with a lot of road noise.

Source Volume Level: The output level of each source is individually adjustable from -14 to + 14 dB.

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The unit features a single front loading CD face that detaches from the chassis to deter theft. A hard plastic face case is provided to store the detachable faceplate. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

1-Line LCD Display: This unit is equipped with a 1-Line white-backlit LCD, so you can easily view AM/FM stations, CD-Text, and ID-3/WMA tag information.

Text Display: Text information, such as the disc name and the track name, will be displayed if playing a CD text compatible disc. It is also possible to display the folder name, the file name, and the tag information, while playing a MP3/WMA disc.

Text Scroll: This unit can scroll the disc and track names recorded on CD-Text disc, as well as the text information of MP3/WMA files, folder names, and tags. There are two Text Scroll settings.

    • Auto: The CD text information, the information of folder and file names, and the tags are scrolled automatically.
    • Manual: The display is scrolled when a disc is loaded or when a track is changed.

Auto Dimmer: This unit is equipped with an illumination lead (orange); when the unit's dimmer mode is set to Auto and the illumination lead is connected to your vehicle's headlight circuit, the display and button illumination will dim to a fixed, preset level whenever the headlights are turned on. If preferred, you may choose the Manual dimmer mode setting, so the display and button illumination is dim at all times.

Demo Mode: This unit has a demonstration feature for its display which can be turned On or Off in the menu.

    Remote Control

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Optional Wireless Remote: The Alpine CDE-SXM145BT is wireless remote control ready. Simply add on the Alpine RUE-4202 IR remote (500RUE4202, sold separately) to make it even easier to control the head unit's functions.

    Why did you buy this?

It's got the features I want. It's got an aux input (I like to listen to old cassettes sometimes, playing on an old Walkman in the car. ) It's got a pre-amp output so it's expandable. It's I-phone friendly and the satellite hook up is good too-might cash in on the rebate. [ Joe  Apr 08, 2016 ]
Alpine is a good product. Have had their radios in the past. Very nice! [ J  Apr 02, 2016 ]
3rd Alpine since 2006 in various cars, they never disappoint, rock solid CD Play back, Awesome Bluetooth performance and a great sound stage that can be tailored to almost any vehicle to make music sound great. [ Gregory  Mar 21, 2016 ]
Had same unit in car I sold. Installing in new\used car. [ Keith  Feb 27, 2016 ]
BEST ON THE MARKET. [ TAYLOR  Jan 21, 2016 ]
Bought this head unit for my 2006 Jeep Rubicon with the 7 speaker factory set-up (includes a small console mounted sub). I replaced the factory head unit when the volume knob quit working properly. I chose this Alpine as step one of an overall system replacement, but once I got it installed it made such a huge difference in my sound - treble, bass, everything - it is going to be a while before I replace the factory speakers. Sorry Crutchfield - but I still have three other trucks to outfit. [ Danen  Jan 01, 2016 ]
Bluetooth and hands free calling and I have always had good luck with alpine [ adam  Dec 29, 2015 ]
All Features and included Sirius XM Tuner [ Paul  Dec 28, 2015 ]
I am very pleased with one in another of my vehicles. [ STEVEN H  Dec 20, 2015 ]

I think I have the manual. I'll look this afternoon. I'm replacing the unit soon. XM never worked for more than a few minutes, a major bummer as I set out for my drive from Calif to Indiana and back. [ RICHARD  Sep 09, 2016 ]
I Believe Sirus and XM are now one company so your sirus subscription should work and the channels won't change. Hope this helps [ CHAD  Dec 27, 2015 ]
All new receivers sold are XM, the music channels are the same as Sirius. You can swap a new receiver for an existing one, the NFL package will cost extra because it is Sirius only. Might be the reason they changed, get more money from you. [ Samuel  Dec 27, 2015 ]
Hold down the "audio" button for 2 seconds. Select general mode. Enter. Select CLOCK ADJ mode. Enter. Adjust the hours using the nob. And press enter. Then adjust the minutes. Save it by pressing the "audio" button for 2 seconds. [ TERENCE A  Nov 24, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The $70 rebate is for the satellite radio tuner itself and you can also get three free months of service when you commit to at least six months of SiriusXM All Access programming for your car, computer, and smartphone. This has to be a new account of a new tuner on an existing account. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Sep 07, 2015 ]  Staff
I love this radio. Has all the accessories you could want. It does scroll the artist or the song, but not both at the same time. You have to select which one you want to display. The screen is not big enough for both to scroll. [ GARY S  Aug 11, 2015 ]
There are a few different things it will do. You can set it up to scroll the words across the screen or to just automatically change from one to the next. You can also set it up to defaultly show the song title, artist, album, elapsed time of the song and to display the clock. I give the radio a solid 9 out of 10. Hope it helps. [ Lee  Aug 11, 2015 ]

Yes. We have a mix of phones and they all work well with this unit b [ Creighton  Jun 30, 2015 ]
Yes. It works well with my Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge, which is Android for calls and streaming music. I stream MILK (Samsung) and Google Play Music to it. Works great. Very complete unit. [ GARY S  Jun 30, 2015 ]
Hello Frank, the mic plug is the top port to the left of the wire harness on the back of the receiver. [ KEITH R  Jun 28, 2015 ]
If the model 145?is the same as the model 143 you will find (2) 3.5mm plug one above the other at the rear of the unit. The bottom most port is labeled "REM" do not use this port, rather use the port above it with no markings. Hope this helps you out. - Mike D [ MICHAEL A  Jun 28, 2015 ]
Wish I could tell you but I had my system professionally installed. Not that much to have a pro do it. Sorry [ William  Jun 28, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff  Jun 11, 2015 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: I'm afraid there is not a better way to randomize the shuffle feature for that unit. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you there. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  May 26, 2015 ]  Staff

I've never had a problem playing burned CDs. I usually save .wav files, but it does seem to me that .mp3s have worked in the past. [ MICHAEL  May 07, 2015 ]

Yes, it did come with a remote control. [ PAMELA R  Sep 05, 2014 ]
Does not come with remote control, but don't let that stop you from purchasing. It is an awesome unit! [ CHRIS  Sep 04, 2014 ]
it does not come with a remote , the remote is optional just put in you model # & remotes to find what your looking for [ DONALD W  Sep 04, 2014 ]
No, it does not come with a remote. I have connected a thumb drive, but I cannot figure out how to get the names of the tracks to appear - all I get is the album and track number. I have had much better luck with the satellite radio and in hooking up my Android phone as a music player with both bluetooth and a hard connection. I have made phone calls with my Android phone using the bluetooth also. [ Eric  Sep 04, 2014 ]
No remote but you can buy one .. Had this radio for months and love it !!!! [ VICTOR  Sep 04, 2014 ]
When I first turned on unit, I had SXM service for about 7 days before it gave message to call SXM to subscribe [ DON E  Aug 13, 2014 ]
No. Unfortunately, it does not. I do have a SiriusXM subscription for another vehicle and can confidently recommend the survice. It is excellent! [ Jeffrey  Aug 12, 2014 ]
Mine did but don't remember how for how long. [ JAMES  Aug 11, 2014 ]
It does, but I can't remember if it was 1 or 3 months. Overall, the receiver is great. [ RHETT N  Aug 11, 2014 ]
Chris mine did not come with a trial that I am aware of. I however already had a subscription from a previous radio and just transferred it [ PAUL J  Aug 11, 2014 ]
    No [ ALAN D  Aug 11, 2014 ]
Not when I bought it didn't. Some of the satellites sold separately do. [ JASON  Aug 11, 2014 ]
No it does not. You have to call and set up an account with SiriusXM. [ AMBER  Aug 11, 2014 ]
It did come with service for free but since I already had an account I did not use it. I don't know the length of the free service since I never used it. I bought this unit as an upgrade. [ CYNTHIA  Aug 11, 2014 ]
Honestly, I bought this for my boat. I haven't installed it yet. I think it is the standard Alpine blue. You can't go wrong with Alpine. [ MARC  Aug 10, 2014 ]
    That's all I have seen and used. [ KRIS  Aug 10, 2014 ]
Yes, blue is the only color. [ DIEGO  Aug 10, 2014 ]
To the best of my knowledge there is no way to change the display color on this unit. The display is pretty basic. [ FRANK  Aug 10, 2014 ]
Hi Jud - I've had the CDE SXM145BT for over a year now. I've never experienced any problem reading the display during the daytime. I guess if the sunlight was shining right on it there might be a problem. But that would rarely happen. [ ROBERT  Aug 10, 2014 ]
I had no issues with display. It was plenty bright for me [ MATT  Aug 08, 2014 ]
I own a Jeep, and even with the top down on a sunny day I've never had a problem seeing the display. [ WILLIAM  Aug 08, 2014 ]
    no problem seeing the display..nice radio [ EDWARD  Aug 08, 2014 ]
I have had this radio for about a 2 years. No problems seeing it in the daytime. [ AARON  Aug 08, 2014 ]
The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone or online chat. [ Jeff  Jan 07, 2014 ]  Staff
The MRV-F300 will be a good fit with the receiver. However, I would recommending consulting with an Advisor by phone or online chat to make sure the amplifier will be a good fit for your speakers. [ Jeff  Jan 03, 2014 ]  Staff
For information on the compatibility with your factory system please contact an Advisor by phone or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle in our system and give you any details we have on integration. [ Jeff  Dec 13, 2013 ]  Staff
