Want to play high-definition content from your mobile device and watch it on a larger, higher-resolution screen? Soundstream's HDM-A3 interface cable makes that dream a reality for owners of Galaxy S III phones and many other Android devices. This 5-foot cable enables you to play 1080p video and 8-channel audio from an MHL-enabled device, like your smartphone, to a multimedia player with an HDMI/MHL input.
The MHL interface uses HDMI and USB plugs, along with some new technology, to send crystal-clear uncompressed digital video and audio through a single cable to deliver truly outstanding pictures and sound. The HDM-A3 cable also charges the battery of your portable device, so it's always ready to rock.
Not much to say. It's a cable and exactly as described.
Pros: Plenty of length.
Great product and awwsome transaction!
I tried to use this cable with my galaxy s4 and also LG G2 neither one.
Cons: Doesn't work
Awesome product would purchase again.
Pros: Won't break the bank
Did not work charge light never even came on
As for now I have to give this product only one start because it did not work in my unit. I believe it is a faulty wire so Crutchfield is sending out another cord and hopefully this will work. I will write back if it comes and works.
Pros: My device has the hook-up for this cord.
Cons: Cord did not work, not even just to charge.Crutchfield response on June 16, 2015 Whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our customer service or tech support teams right away. In this case we sent out a replacement free of charge.
Ive been looking for a connection for my s3. After some help from a friend he recommend me to go to crutchfield to purchase the sound stream hdm-a3 cable, I tried Google chrome but wasn't what I wanted and was told by a Best buy employee to buy their connection cable, which ended up to a sum of $80+. Way to much compared to the $25 dollar cable at crutchfield!!. Best way to go !
Pros: Best cable to get to connect your s3 cell phone to your TV and great resolution. Best choice if looking for a hdm!
Cons: Nothing at all satisfied 100%
PRODUCT WORKED LIKED THE ADVISOR SAID . DIDN'T NEED THE PIONEER CABLE LIKE PIONEER RECOMMEND. SAVED MONEY. THANKS CRUTCHFIELD.
Pros: Easy install.
Intermittently work half of the time. Have to jiggle cord occasionally for it to work
Pros: Works sometimes
Cons: Doesn't always workCrutchfield response on March 26, 2014 Our tech support team contacted the customer to look into this issue. They determined that the problem was probably a faulty cable, so we promptly sent him a replacement.
Micro-USB 11-Pin to HDMI/USB Cable: The Soundstream HDM-A3 is a micro-USB 11-pin to HDMI/USB cable which allows you to connect your MHL-enabled Android smartphone device with a 11-pin microUSB port (such as the Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Galaxy Note II/III/IV) to your home and car audio/video components equipped with an HDMI input and USB type-A port. Through its full-size HDMI connector, the HDM-A3 cable supports 1080p video and 2ch audio. The HDM-A3 will also charge your MHL-enabled Android smartphone via its USB type-A connector. Because the USB connector pig-tails from the HDMI connector, your home or car audio component's HDMI and USB input must be less than 3" apart. The total length of the cable is 5'.
At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere. That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team. Brit with Crutchfield let me know this was the cable I needed to make use of the full capability of my receiver and phone. Brit's Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=206 [ Robert May 19, 2016 ]
Adapts phone well [ Johnny May 13, 2016 ]
Because it is not included with the Car Stereo that I purchased from Crutchfields, I wish they would have mentioned that so I could have gotten everything all at once. [ Virgil Mar 03, 2016 ]

Needed for communications from my Android phone to new stereo for my Jeep Patriot. [ Rob Jan 04, 2016 ]
There is no specific version number listed for MHL support with the SoundStream cable. The cable does support 1080p video and 2ch audio. The wireless transmitter for the Epson projector does offer a USB port (for charging 3D glasses) you could use for charging of your phone but it appears to me more than 3" from the HDMI connection so you may have difficulty connecting to both with this cable. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Mar 16, 2016 ] Staff

I think this is for Sam's cream on them I think this is for soundstreatment only. That's what we had it hooked up to [ Timothy Dec 02, 2015 ]
Sorry I can't really help. I use it to connect a 3rd party head unit with an XM adapter to my Honda sound system. Though I have a Galaxy Note 4, it is not connected with my car system at all except through Blutooth. My system works great, but I cannot speak definitively about yours. [ Gordon Dec 02, 2015 ]
The a3 cable does work with the gs5. But if you change phones it probably wont work. I upgraded to the note 6, and it doesnt work. Also after a few months it will slip out randomly from the phone, and you will lose signal. Its honestly easyier, and cheaper to just use a av cable. [ BOBBY Dec 02, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility. They will be able to pull up your gear and see if this will work. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff Sep 21, 2015 ] Staff
NO & I don't think they sell receiver anymore [ Timothy Sep 20, 2015 ]
I Don't own a htc desire 610, so this question is not applicable. [ Ralston Sep 20, 2015 ]
we used it on a galaxy s5 phone just updatewe used it on a galaxy s 5 phone just updated to S 6 and it uses a different plug so I don't know for sure if the plug for an S four note is the same it may work [ Timothy Jun 15, 2015 ]
Yes it does. I upgraded from a note 3 to a note 4 and its has the same function. [ Brandon Jun 15, 2015 ]
I've used it with a Note 3, and there really shouldn't be a difference between the Note 3 and Note 4. [ JASON Jun 15, 2015 ]
I couldn't get that cable to work right with my samsung s5 active but i was tring to use to work with a kenwood ddx8901hd to use my phone on the kenwood screen i ended up useing the kenwood cable and a 11 to 5 pin hdmi adapter from samsung to get it to work [ MICHAEL D Jun 15, 2015 ]
I couldn't get that cable to work with my samsung s5 active i had to use the kenwood cable with a 11 to 5 pin hdml adapter.the samsung adapter is the best one to use [ MICHAEL D Jun 15, 2015 ]
I am not sure on the 4 but I have the note 3 and it works .. only problem I had is it doesn't charge like it suppose to I haven't pulled it back to check connections [ JACOB Jun 15, 2015 ]
This may work but i just realized it takes up the only USB on the 8901HD. And once the Soundstream cord is installed it pretty much renders the USB port useless for anything else, including firmware updates without having to pull the head unit out every time even to connect a portable USB drive [ Andrew May 27, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Soundstream HDM-A3 can be used with both the Kenwood DDX8901HD and DNX891HD receivers. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy May 27, 2014 ] Staff
