AE is for "Acoustically Enhanced"
Harman Kardon designed their AE in-ear headphones for low distortion and extended bass response. These 'phones feature earpieces made of aluminum, which reduces vibration and resonance for clearer, more detailed sound. The aluminum housing also provides sturdy protection for the 9mm drivers, which are optimized to deliver low, accurate bass as well as crisp highs and balanced mids. The drivers and enclosures work together to keep your music sounding dynamic and alive rather than muddy. And the included assortment of silicone and foam ear tips lets you find the right fit for long-lasting comfort and proper noise isolation.
Remote and microphone for Apple devices
It may seem like overkill to have a remote for a device that is always so close by. But once you have it, you'll never want to go without. The AE headphones feature a three-button remote for track and volume control of your Apple® devices. Skipping songs and turning it up are easier than ever, even when your iPhone® is in your pocket. And the remote's built-in microphone gives you the freedom of hands-free phone conversations. Plug these elegant headphones into your iPhone and you're ready for great-sounding music and clear calls everywhere you go.

Features
Overview: The Harman Kardon AE (acoustically enhanced) in-ear headphones feature premium 9mm drivers in an aluminum-alloy housing to deliver high quality sound with extended bass response. Three pairs of silicone ear tips and a pair of Comply Foam ear tips are included, so you'll be able to get the best fit. The 4' cable has an in-line remote/microphone that is compatible with iPod, iPhone, and iPad. The headphones can be stored in the supplied hard case.
Cable: The attached heavy duty cable is terminated with a durable straight 3.5mm plug. Its elastomer coating helps keep the cable from getting tangled. The in-line remote/microphone is positioned only 6" from the right ear bud, making it easy to find, and making sure your voice is heard clearly by your caller.
Remote/Microphone: The 3-button remote/microphone allows you to raise and lower the volume with the outer buttons, while the center button can control your phone calls or music. The remote control is "Made for iPod, iPhone, and iPad", which means that it is certified to meet Apple performance standards. During music playback and phone calls, the control function is determined by the number of center button presses:
- One Press: Pause/Play; Answer/Hang Up
- Two Presses: Skip to next track
- Three Presses: Skip to previous track
- Press and Hold: "Voice Over" feature (such as the iPhone's Siri), if available
