About the Harman Kardon BT
Great sound, clear calls and cutting-edge design, without the wires
Great sound, clear calls and cutting-edge design, without the wires
Go hands-free and wireless with your music and phone calls with Harman Kardon's BT headphones. Bluetooth connectivity means you can conduct clear conversations without touching your phone. Clever controls on the earcup let you answer calls, hang up, and adjust the volume as you talk, with no dangling cables to get in your way. You can also enjoy music wirelessly from Bluetooth smarthphones, tablets and audio players. The BT's AAC and aptX® encoding provides the finest streaming sound quality available when using compatible devices. Once your music reaches the headphones, you can be sure it will sound detailed and bold. Harman Kardon's design includes bass tubes that function like tuned bass ports, providing extra low-frequency "oomph" to complement the BT's high-frequency clarity.
The Harman Kardon BT headphones come with an optional miniplug cable for passive listening, even when your battery is drained.
Listen even without a charged battery
Bluetooth headphones rely on battery power for wireless streaming. And the BT is no exception, with a USB cable included to enable easy charging from any computer for up to 12 hours of listening. But while some Bluetooth headphones leave you high and dry if the battery is drained, the BT comes with an optional cable for passive listening. So even if you can't charge the battery, you can still plug in and keep the music going. This makes the BT ideal for travel, especially those long plane trips where you don't want to be stuck with headphones you can't use.
Going the extra mile for comfort
These headphones are built for comfort and looks. The unique rectangular earcups will turn heads, while the soft memory foam pads provide comfort that lasts. And we were particularly impressed to see the inclusion of an additional headband. The BT comes with a small headband installed. But if it doesn't provide the comfort and security you need, you can swap it out with the included larger headband. With this level of attention to fit and comfort, the BT should look and feel at home on anyone.
From our Harman Kardon CL and BT headphones review:
The earcup track and volume controls are extremely easy to use without fumbling around trying to figure out which button is which. I must admit, there is something magical about moving about wearing headphones with no cable. If Bluetooth is a priority, the BT is a great choice, particularly if you own an aptX-compatible device.

Features
Overview: The Harman Kardon BT over-ear Bluetooth headphones let you enjoy music from your smartphone or other Bluetooth devices wirelessly. The BTs are made of high-quality materials to provide an exceptional acoustic performance. The headphones have 40mm drivers and a unique baffle design for clear highs and extended bass response. The BTs have interchangeable parts that let you custom fit the headphones to your head. The ear cups swivel to lay flat for easy storage in the supplied leather case.
Bluetooth Technology: The H/K BT wireless headphones supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP (v1.2), AVRCP (v1.0), HSP (v1.2) and HFP (v1.5) protocols. In addition they employ AAC and aptX coding to give you the best wireless audio performance available. The Bluetooth operating range is approximately 26 feet.
Rechargeable Battery: The headphones are powered by a 3.7-volt rechargeable battery. The battery charges in approximately 2 hours via USB, using the supplied USB charging cable. (Charging from a laptop computer may take longer.) Typical battery life is approximately 12 hours.
Cable: When the battery becomes exhausted, you can still enjoy music playback from your device via the supplied bypass cable. The heavy duty cable plugs into the left ear cup via a 2.5mm sub-miniplug, and is terminated with a durable straight 3.5mm plug.
Built-in Remote/Microphone: The BT headphones have a built-in microphone on the front of the left ear cup for carrying on phone conversations. Also, there is a 3-button control panel on the back of the left ear cup. The controls allow you to raise and lower the volume with the top and bottom buttons, while the center button can control your phone calls or music. The remote control is "Made for iPod, iPhone, and iPad", which means that it is certified to meet Apple performance standards. During music playback and phone calls, the control function is determined by the number of center button presses:
- One Press: Pause/Play; Answer/Hang Up
- Two Presses: Skip to next track
- Three Presses: Skip to previous track
- Press and Hold: "Voice Over" feature (such as the iPhone's Siri), if available
Design: The headphones have a closed back design and slow-retention premium foam ear pads to keep outside noise out and keep your music and phone conversations from leaking out. The ear cups swivel in two directions to maintain the acoustic seal around your ear.
Interchangeable Bows: The H/K BT headphones come assembled on a "small" metal headband bow. If you need or desire a larger fit, you can remove the ear cups and padded from the original bow and attach them onto the supplied "large" metal bow.

For the price I paid you will not find a better sounding or better built headphone. They are comfortable and come with an additional larger headband. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a wall charger. You have to plug it into a USB port on your device.
