About the Stinger PRO Series Speaker Wire

Bob Bihlmayer
Don't let cheap speaker wire strangle your amplifier. Get every ounce of juice from your amp to your speakers with Stinger PRO Series oxygen-free copper wire. The positive markings and ribbed jacket make it easy to keep your speakers' polarity straight. The lower the gauge, the thicker the wire — we recommend 14- to 16-gauge wire if you're connecting your speakers to a small or moderately powerful amp. Warranty: 1 year.

Q
My cable is not marked, which one is positive and which one is negative?
gerardo  May 13, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Gerardo, and thank you for your question. The Stinger Pro series speaker wire should have a Plus sign on one side of the wire. Both sides are identical honestly, but the one side will have that plus sign.

Q
Is the square or circular side of the wire positive/negatively, respectively? They aren't labeled on the wire or the website...
brian  Feb 03, 2016
1 answer
A
I used the square as the negative but it really doesn't matter. Speaker wire is marked + or - so you don't cross them during installation with the exception of some that uses two types of conductor. (i.e. copper one way and aluminum the other)

Q
What are the dimensions of the cable in total, with shielding etc.?
eric  Aug 09, 2015
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Stinger SPW514K is 0.325" wide (both wires side by side) and 0.16" tall. Each strand individually if you separate them is 0.16" x 0.16". If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Will 14-16 Gauge Regular Copper Wire Work For Connection To My Front & Rear Speakers?
leon  Aug 14, 2021
1 answer
A
In my humble opinion, without knowing what the specs are on your speakers or amp, I would say yes. Don't think you would notice any audible difference, unless you have ears like my dog. She hates all music anyway, except Flamenco guitar.

Q
How much wire do I need for my under-seat sub and amp? I've got a midsize pickup truck and I just don't know how many feet of speaker wire I need.
joshua  Nov 27, 2015

A
Man, always get like three feet extra. Figure 4-5 ft per front speakers and about 9 feet for rear
kenneth  Sep 10, 2021
A
Each job is different. It depends on exactly where you place the amp, where you place the subs, how you run your wire, where the battery is located, & how you penetrate the firewall. You are going to have to either estimate it or measure it. Add a few feet to your estimate. It's better to have 5 ft extra than to be 2 inches short.
jason  Dec 01, 2015
Q
How do you know what size speaker wire to run your speakers?
james  Sep 30, 2016
1 answer
A
The size of the wire you need can vary depending on how much power (wattage) is going to each speaker, and the distance the wire needs to run from your amplifier to your speaker(s). In order to determine what gauge wire is best for your system, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. I hope that helps!
