So you've got a fantastic new car stereo in your dash, but your iPod cable won't reach from the iPod in your center console to its rear USB input. This PAC 6-ft. extension cable features female and male USB ends, and includes a mounting bracket for a permanent installation, so you can set up a convenient spot for plugging in your iPod or thumb drive.
The cable's female USB end provides a flush-mount design for permanent installation — simply drill a hole into the spot where you'd like to connect your USB devices, then snap in the end of the cable for a factory look. If you'd rather not drill a hole, just snap that end of the cable into the included mounting bracket, then place the bracket in a good place for quick access to your USB devices. Warranty: 1 year.
Was easy to install and has two mounting options.

Was easy to install and has two mounting options.
Pros: Easy Install. Custom look. Adds easy access to USB.
Awesome cable and love the flush mount option so that's how I mounted it. H8
Pros: Length Ease of Install Flush mount to vehicle option
Cons: Price is hefty for a USB extension
I picked up 2 of these for my Kenwood DNX-892. One for standard USB devices, the second for Apple devices. Connected both to the back of my 892, and ran them into my center console of my 12 Ford F150 xlt! Now I Have a total of 3 usable USB ports in my truck including the Sync USB port on the center stack!
Pros: Cheap, and easy to install...
Cons: Doesn't install itself...
Decent cable, worked for the application I was using it for. Would like to see the notch a little bigger as i drilled a hole in my console for a cleaner look and ended up gluing it in place as it would rotate.
Pros: Useful cable.
Cons: A bigger notch would be better.
Purchased this along with a Pioneer MVH-X560BT. I knew that I would want to utilize the USB feature of the receiver without having a random cord dangling about. This was perfect. Drilled a hole in the console next the cigarette lighter, then the PAC USB Extension Cable popped right in with a snug and custom look. Looks like the vehicle was designed with this USB plug. Very easy to install, takes less than 3 minutes.
Pros: Easy Install. Flawless Custom Look. Adds easy access to USB. Even works as a charging port.
This product is very helpful in extending the rear located USB port on the back of your head unit to a more convinent location in your vehicle. The mounting bracket allow the end of the cable to be secured to the interior of the vehicle for a nice clean finish. I would highly recommend this cable for anyone who has a rear located USB port on their head unit.
Pros: Length of the cable and mounting bracket.
Cons: None at this point.
Great cable, was able to flush mount into my SAAB 9-3.
Pros: cable length
I hate having cords hanging all over my car. This installed easily into an unused power port in my dash. Looks factory installed. The hardest part was getting the "guts" out of the port so I could install this. Works perfectly and allows me to charge my iPhone and use carplay at the same time.
Pros: Seamless OEM look. Charge and sync.
This was a great product. Looks great flush mounted in my dash.
This was exactly what I needed to install a USB port for front panel access
Pros: Easy install
Provides connection from rear of unit in dash.
Pros: Great Product
Great item! Mounted on center of dash, gives it a clean, factory look.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Would be nice if it had a cover when no USB present.
I wanted to make the USB port look like my Durango came with the USB port. This was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you Crutchfield Tech advisor/sales group. This is just what I wanted!!
Pros: Looks very professional / factory
Just what the Doctor ordered, Thanks Crutchfield!!!
Pros: Easy to install
Good product. Make sure you put the USB wire through bracket before feeding behind the stereo.
This cable is perfect to replace the lighter in my ash tray and add a power outlet and usb jack for my head unit.
Pros: Fits lighter hole
Cons: Longer than needed
The radio that I purchased had only rear USB so I installed this in the dash to make the USB more accessible.
Pros: easy to install.
Nice cable fits tight on both sides sooth finished ends, fits standard power plug opening on todays automobiles.
Pros: Good extension cable for a finished look, looks and feels like a factory installation.
Great add on that gives you the option to mount with a pod or remove the pod and drill a hole to mount in almost any location, has locator tang to prevent rotation in this instance.
Pros: Works great and offers an OEM look
Cons: Would be nice to have different cable lengths as it is a bit much when mounting right beside the deck.
Work's very well with almost every USB drive I have used (I.E. thumbdrives), and my Samsung Note 3 which I mainly bought it for., The USB dash connector is a simple, but is a smart idea.
Pros: Very convenient, and work's great!,
The length and the harness is perfect
Does what is is supposed to do...
I ordered the USB to connect my iPod Classic and iPhone to a Kenwood DDX371 DVD player. This included more than enough cable to run from the back of the unit to just about anywhere on or under the dash. The over molded USB port has a bezel that can be mounted to the dash. The cable is extra heavy duty and probably more than is really needed. Still, the cost was not that much.
Pros: Plenty of cable to run from the rear of the radio.
Cons: Probably more than really needed.
Could not be any better than this!
Did what it was supposed to, although there is a slight delay sometimes on the start up
Pros: I'm satisfied.
Cons: Like I said there's a slightly longer delay on start up than I'm used to but other than that it's a gi
Works well was able to customize
Pros: Very good
Cons: They sell them elsewhere cheeper
Not much to say about a product that does it's job. It's USB and it works with all USB plugs that I have used(iphone 4/5, Kindle Fire. Android, etc.)
Pros: Solid Product.
A worthwhile investment! This allowed me to get my USB plug nicely finished and installed in the center console/armrest unit. If you have an older car and want you phone to be able to be plugged in out of sight, this is the perfect addition to you system.
Pros: Cord length and resulting options for placement
Worked great with my IPOD Nano (7th Generation), as well as with my Smart phone
Pros: Serves great as a way to hook up your Smart phone and stream Pandora, or use your IPOD to control the music
Cons: No cons to mention
This is the perfect solution to have a permanent USB port installed with and OEM look, I did not use the supplied bracket, drilled a 19 mm hole, made a little notch, and done!!!
Pros: OEM look
I was able to have a very clean and pro looking install by just drilling a 3/4" hole inside the console glove box, running the wire under the console to the head.
Pros: simple product with options for install and plenty of wire.
Cons: no gripes from me
Not much to say, it works and it's a good product.
Pros: Good price, looks good if mounted in the right place. Great product.
If you want a nice custom panel install of a USB port for your car, this cable fills the bill. In my install I passed on the supplied mounting bracket and simply drilled a whole in a console panel......
Pros: Easy install
Easy and smile to install. I drilled a hole next to the cigarette lighter and did not use the mounting hardware it came with. Looks like it was a factory installation. Works great and looks just as good.
Pros: Simple installation.
Cons: Only one I would have is with the mounting hardware. But I didn't use it so I have none.
Made my radio install extra clean because i was able to put a USB connection where my factory AUX hook up was.
Great cable great price. Very usable. It allows you to add a usb extenstion.
Pros: Everything fast shipping etc
Very handy to have. I use a thumb drive for music and my Miata didn't have one. When I upgraded the head unit I got one on the unit front but installed this one down low on my dash hidden away. This way no thumb drive hanging out the front of my stereo always.
Pros: Easy install. I did not use the included bracket, I actually drilled a hole in the lower trim panel of my center console. It looks like a factory install.
It is a great Idea, but the USB connection was so tight to plug an Ipod or any USB connection into it, I thought that I was going to break the Ipod Cable.
Pros: Great Idea, Very convenient.
Cons: Very difficult to plug cable.
Works well. Drilled hole in dash looks factory.
Works great! made the install look professional.
Pros: seamless and integrated flawlessly
Cons: needs to fit in the cigarette/power socket holes.
Worked well for me under my control panel in my 03 Newbeetle. My glove box is not convenient for me so this option was just what I needed. The sticky did not hold well when put the bracket under the control panel. It comes with two sets of screws. One set is self tapping and the other you should pre drill first. The cable is stiff but pliable enough to bend where you want it with plenty of length. Professional looking when using the bracket.
Pros: Nice and sturdy with a professional look. Easy install with the bracket.
Installed this cable at the same time that I was installing my new CD reciever. So it was a breeze to just plug and play. Finding the best location on my console to install was the hardiest part, since I wanted to have that flush look when in use.
Pros: Works as expected. Sturdy. An helped to add a USB port to the front of my dash console for easy access.
Cons: With anyone that will be installing the cable without the included base, as to give it the flush look- you'll find yourself wondering whats the best size of hole needed to be cut out so that the cable with fit and snap in perfectly the first time. I made the hole a little too big but fixed it by hot gluing the cable to the inside of my mounting fixture. Would be nice to of had a simple paper card cutout of the hole to trace or just to of had the actual diameter specs to cut out the hole out-
Works as advertised, plenty of length to place head anywhere. I routed mine to the center console.
This is a great product to extend the rear USB port of aftermarket receivers. I needed to get my port accessible from the center console, and this was the answer.
Pros: easy integration (plug-and-play)
This device is exactly what you'd expect; a USB extension cable with multiple mounting options. I bought this with an Alpine INE-S920HD not realizing that the unit came with a USB cable already. BUT, this cable is longer, and since I'm installing a system in my 2011 WRX Limited, and trying to re-use the factory USB plug built into the center console, I'm glad I have an extra cable and some additional options to get it installed in a way that looks stock.
Pros: Multiple mounting options
Gave me a nice option to plug the USB stick in the console. Good add-on to the new stereo
Pros: Easy install, options for orienting the plug
Love this thing.
Pros: Flush mount
I really needed it, works well
Pros: Works great
just right to hide in the center console compartment compartment of my tacoma
Quality material and construction. I shaved the top and bottom to fit the cubby below the radio. Looks OEM. Nice hide-a-way from the bad guys! Four stars based on return on investment.
Pros: So easy to assemble, a caveman can do it. Perfect complement to the rear USB interface of the Pioneer.
Cons: Price is a little stiff. After all, this is just a USB extension cable, not rocket science.
Extends the rear mounted USB port on my Pioneer head unit to anywhere in my vehicle. Good construction, mounting hardware included, professional finished look.
Pros: Looks good and works well. Mounting hardware included.
Exactly what I needed! This allowed me to extend the USB rear output for my new Kenwood unit and mount the connection where I wanted!
Pros: High quality cord and good grade of plastic in the mount. This was important because I had to fish the wire under glued carpet below the console of my truck. Also no problems with the connection like some other low grade USB cords have.
Cons: Absolutely none.
mounted this low in my dash beside the glove box. Looks factory and works great ! Very pleased
This allowed me to mount my USB connection on the dash panel on a 08 Dodge Ram 2500 easily. The cable was a little long but no issues. I connected this cable to the factory cable that came with the head unit so I could unplug easily if I needed to remove the front panel for any reason. Excellent product.
Pros: Easy mounting options
Cons: Could use some instructions on which hole size to drill for mounting
very nice, but didn't find the need to use it. Length on the wires from the head unit was enough for what I needed
Pros: can make for a sweet install.
Cons: Odds are you won't need it.
My wife suggested mounting it inside the back of the pocket that removing my double DIN factory chassis left. This works GREAT! Now we can charge our cell phones and have a place to hold them. With the Apple iPod or iPhone 5 cable or (my) Micro USB cable from the phone. I can keep the wire securely connected yet out of the way.
Pros: Works great. Nice tight fit.
Cons: The cable is pretty long (for my ultra short needs), but nothing a wire tie cannot fix.
This is perfect for when your head-in system has a USB port in the back. This works perfectly and can be placed practically anywhere in the vehicle. Looks great!
The PAC USB Extension Cable work well for what I needed it for. Had to do a little customization to the block to get it to fit where I wanted it. Now it looks like a factory option.
Cons: Should come with length option.
Nice jack and was able to make up in a dash blank to look sweet!
Pros: Gives a nice factory look, moves USB jack from rear of head unit to dash or glove box.
Cons: Needs to come in different lengths to avoid masses of wire in dash.
This is a must have for a factory look.
Pros: Everything Else
Good fit for vw gti!!! Didnt have to use the stand or drill any holes... Fit right in one of the mid square panel by the ashtray... Just popped it out and put it right in... Looks like it came w/ car... Hehehe... Very happy w/ product... Bought pioneer 8400 w/ it!!!!
Pros: Very good!
This is a great product to add to any aftermarket radio with usb ports in the rear. I bought it also for flush mount and I am very pleased with the finished product. Installed in my gmc Sierra crew cab truck in dash under a/c panel and it looks great.
Pros: Two options for mounting, I suggest flush mount if you have space. Black Colorado will match most interiors.
Cons: The flush mount could be a bit tighter fit and you may have to add trim glue or silicone to tighten the fit, minor though.
Just installed this in my wife's `06 Jeep Liberty. It does what it's supposed to do and works very well. The ability to flush mount the cylinder is what prompted me to purchase this over other options. I was not disappointed.

I don't know about Apple Carplay since I don't use that but I use my Iphone 6S attached via USB and the music and pandora work with no problems and it shows the album art on the screen so it should work. I've used Amazon music too, but that doesn't show any artwork, but the music plays just fine. [ Kristopher Apr 22, 2016 ]
Its just an extension cable. So it doesn't matter. The issue that you are having is either the cable you have is no good or the USB port you are connecting it to is not putting out the proper amperage for your apple device. Any USB extension cord would not have an effect on this that I know of. [ Michael Apr 20, 2016 ]
I am not sure if this will help or not, but I used this cable with a Kenwood receiver and my iPhone 5s works with it. I'm able to charge my phone with it and the kenwood head unit is able to minimally control the iPhone 5s. It doesn't have CarPlay so I don't know if it would work for you or not. Good luck. [ BEN Apr 19, 2016 ]
I don't know if it is Apple certified but it works with my i6, i5s, i4 and iPod mini. The only issue is with the mini where it doesn't charge while playing. Charges mini ok when not in use. [ Michael Apr 19, 2016 ]

Depends on what functions the usb port has that you have it connected to. It is just an extension cord from whatever you have it plugged into so all it functions should be available. [ Michael Apr 20, 2016 ]

It would work just as if you plugged your phone into the back usb port with the apple cable. This is just an usb extension cord. [ Michael Apr 20, 2016 ]
From what I know of it it's just a usb extension [ ADAM M Dec 10, 2014 ]
Yes it also charges my android. It may go into media mode but it will charge. [ JAMES Aug 29, 2014 ]
As long as the iPhone allows for charging via USB 2.0 protocol then it should work. It charges my Android phone and Blackberry no problem. You for sure have power feed in this connector so I would think it should be fine. That said Apple tends to make its own rules so I would check the user manual of your phone to see if it is a USB compliant device. [ PAUL Aug 28, 2014 ]
Yes and 5s too. [ ANDREW E Aug 28, 2014 ]
It charges phones but tries to play music off of the device being charged. Randomly switches too it. Very annoying. [ STEPHEN Aug 28, 2014 ]
You would have to epoxy it in place. The pop up tabs won't hold it in place like you think. Look for a pop out tab in the console or dash somewhere (usually next to other accessory buttons) and drill a hole in that. Thats what I did on my ride. Looks factory stock. [ Michael Apr 20, 2016 ]
yes it does fit, you may have to make a small filler piece, but it will fit! [ ADAM M Jan 21, 2014 ]
yes it well but if your that close to the radio y not use the one in the radio put mine in 98 mustang in remote spot rear off center console [ RICHARD A Jan 21, 2014 ]
I am not sure about that. Although, it looks like it came from factory in my dash. It has an insert so it does not look like you just cut a hole. I have mine down by my cigarette lighter and it looks great. I know that's not that answer you were looking for but I hope it helps. [ STEPHEN Jan 21, 2014 ]
Yes. Did it that way myself [ PHILIP D Jan 21, 2014 ]
