The Russound OutBack— indoor or outdoor speaker? Yes!

Russound asks, when you've got terrific speakers like the Acclaim 5 Series OutBack, why limit them? Sure, you can use these speakers in weather-stressed environments like your pool, patio or deck. But they also stand up perfectly to life's other challenges like tax-time in your home office, meal-time in your steamy kitchen, or downtime in your "man-cave." Sealed enclosures, salt-tested marine grade hardware, and aluminum grilles make them tough. Wall mounts and bookshelf feet are included to make them usable anywhere in your home. Flexible placement lets you mount this speaker horizontally, vertically, in corners, on poles, or standing upright.

Horrible sound. I connected these speakers to a Sonos Z120 unit and the sound was worse than horrible. I am going to donate the speakers to the salvation army.

    Pros: Nothing good

    Cons: Horrible sound

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers came free with the purcahse of a SONOS ZP120. For free I won't complain, but if I was paying I wouldn't be too happy. They are not great at higher voumes and lack bass. I would have purchased Polk or Yamaha with my money and still may upgrade when the right deal comes along.

Pros: Good mounting hardware led to easy installation.

Cons: Sound quality is mediocre at best.

Not a bad deal for the price (well I got mine for free with a Sonos ZP120), Good for background music but can use a subwoofer for a deeper base. Distorts at high volume.
