The PSX-2 iPod dock is specifically designed to work with select Universal remote controls, such as the MX-450. The combination gives you an unusually high degree of control over your docked iPod or iPhone, with some nice extras.
Stunning visual display
The PSX-2 features component video output to send an on-screen menu to your TV. You'll see album art, artist and song info, and other metadata, such as genre, and tempo. You'll also see convenient navigation buttons that help get you where you want to be in just a few clicks. Plus, the display is a plasma-friendy "screensaver" that's designed to avoid burn-in or image retention.
Many remotes give you basic functionality play, pause, skip, and volume. The PSX-2 takes you beyond that. A processor inside the dock can store a list of your favorite tracks, and even help you sort and shuffle your iPod's collection. Select songs to add to the PSX-2's Jukebox to create your own party mix on the fly. Every time you dock your iPod, your list will be there ready to play.
You can also keep things interesting with the "Play More From" button on the menu. Select it to shuffle selections randomly from an artist, album, or genre. You can also search for songs alphabetically, letting you quickly drill down into your player's collection to get just the tune you're looking for.
A built-in Ethernet port lets you connect the PSX-2 to your computer, so you can sync your player while it's still docked. The front panel of the PX-2 features a backlit Universal logo on clear, removable plastic film. Included are five additional pieces of film. With your PC's printer, you can create your own label or logo to place on the panel.
Is the rest of your audio/video system stored in a cabinet or closet? No problem. The back of the dock has an additional infrared (IR) input, so you can use an RF relay (such as the MRF260 RF Base Station) to control the PSX-2. There's even an included wire with an IR flasher to get you started.
