Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
This is a very nice unit that offers a lot of versatility. I was limited to certain Credenza's because of my A/V equipment. I did a lot of research and finally settled on this item. Color: The item is listed as Espresso but I would say it is more of a dark Red Mahogany. The color is beautiful and the finish is nice. Assembly: Not too difficult to assemble, it will take some time. It took me about 2 hours to assemble, but I am familiar with these type of items. The labeling and instructions are good. No issues to report. Quality: I would have given the unit 5 stars but there are 2 minor issues I have noticed. To its benefit the finish on the exposed pieces, top, doors, sides, are very nice and resemble quality furniture. The adjustable shelves are notched, they stay in place and will not slide back and forth when moving items/equipment in the unit. Hinges and hardware are very nice. The hinges offer a soft close feature and adjust for door alignment. Issues: 1. The bottom shelf and middle interior movable shelves have slots in them for ventilation and air flow. Nice feature but not finished well. They are a bit jagged/rough. 2. I found it necessary to drill pilot holes for the hinges. If not for those issues, the unit would get 5 stars. These are minor issues. Hopefully the slots will not pose a future problem. Conclusion: The finished product is beautiful and does not look like cheap assembled furniture. I recommend this product. Tools are required for assembly
Pros: Nicely finished piece of furniture, not cheap looking. Great styling and well thought out features. Two large concealed compartments (solid doors, not glass) for movies, records, cd's, headsets, glasses, accessories, etc. Nice handles and soft close hinges. Solid when assembled. Unit fully loaded with 65" plasma on top (I am probably at max capacity/load) moves well across carpet, without issue, but I added 1" sliders on all feet (7).
Cons: Vented shelves could be finished cleaner/better. Pilot holes for door hinges could be better.
