With the Havenwood HWHWS4024B multimedia tower you have an elegant way to organize and display your audio/video components. This tower features gently curved sides that give it that "fine furniture" look. The open shelving above and the glass-paneled door echo the look of classic law library bookcases. And this cabinet is constructed with solid birch and finished with real wood veneers.

The tower has storage for four components. The tempered glass panel lets infrared (IR) signals pass through, so you can remotely control your gear even with the door closed. Openings in the back panels allow easy access, making it convenient to connect your components once they're on the shelves.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is for the Havenwood HWHWS4024B, went together quite well, however, some screw holes were too small so had to be drilled to a larger diameter.

Pros: Well built

Cons: heavy, but that is why it is well built.

Havenwood HWHWS4024B TV Cabinet

Written By Dick, Charlottesville, VA on Sunday, June 07, 2015

A handsome, sturdy TV cabinet that well accommodates components and additional storage. It looks like actual furniture, unlike many such put-together pieces, in part due to the slightly convex sides and the glass door on the lower half. A discriminating friend with an eye for fine furniture said, "That looks really good!" Smartly packaged with clear instructions for assembly, employing just a few common tools. The cardboard box, weighing 75 pounds, includes strapping, which I used as "handles" when carrying the package into my cottage. I assembled the cabinet alone in my livingroom. A second person might have made some steps easier. I give the Havenwood five stars, considering, in my experience, the wide range of such put-together pieces. It's excellent in appearance and function for its class, not being a $5000 custom cabinet of heart pine with dovetailed/butterflied joints and a finish of tung oil. During assembly, when I noticed there was no door latch or backstop, I questioned whether the door, when closed, would stay put. Turns out the adjustable shelves serve as its backstop, and the door hangs in place perfectly. If not, the hinges include an easy adjustment feature. The two adjustable shelves sit firmly atop the pins. The black finish seems to be lacquer. For a couple of weeks I could detect a slight odor of off gases, which is now almost indistinguishable. All things considered, I'm delighted with my $300 purchase.

Pros: Well-designed packaging with strapping that aids carrying. Thoughtful design. Clear, visual instructions for assembly. Few tools required. Plenty of room for TV components and other items, such as books. The four openings in the back, one for each shelf, allow easy passage of various cords. The back, secured with screws, truly stabilizes the cabinet. Slightly convex sides and glass door on lower half add aesthetic appeal.

Cons: The cardboard package weighs 75 pounds (which on the plus side makes for a sturdy piece). After completion of project, small pieces of styrofoam need to be swept up or vacuumed. The odor of off gases is detectable for a couple of weeks.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price I paid for this, I would have expected a little better craftsmanship. The shelves edges are not sealed and smooth and also had small nicks along them. There's nicks in all various other places as well. There was a scratch, and not from shipping, on the outside leg that looked like it was part of when it was painted. Had I not already had a great deal of it assembled, rest assured it would have gone back. But I don't know I would have received anything any better. It does serve my purpose I needed it for, but again for the price, don't feel it's worth it. Quality is shoddy. Way over priced!
