Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.
Engineers at Rockford Fosgate designed the P2D4-10 10" subwoofer to dish out the kind of powerful low end you crave in your ride. Its responsive paper cone is reinforced with the same Kevlar® fibers used in bulletproof vests so you get the best of both worlds — warm bass that's exceptionally hard-hitting. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the oversized rubber surround to the cone that increases available cone area up to 25%, so this sub can push more air for even bigger bass.
This P2 sub features an extended pole piece and bumped backplate that leaves more room for heavy excursion, so it'll hit deeper lows without "bottoming out." Special venting keeps the copper-clad aluminum voice coils cool through heavy use for consistent bass performance over time.
The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 2-ohm impedance to work with a mono sub amp, or for 8-ohm impedance if you're using multiple subs. The P2D4-10 sub works equally well in a sealed or ported enclosure, so you can choose the kind of bass you want for your system.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 225 and 450 watts RMS at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Great speaker. Very satisfied
Love this sub. Got it for my 2014 mustang gt and provided the bass I needed without it being too much. Great addition to my audio system. Love rockford fosgate products
Pros: Right size Great bass Good price
I am still building so I can't atest to the sound quality yet but I am sure it will pound. The sub seems overbuilt which is awesome, fits in a relatively small sealed enclosure. So far extremely impressed.
Pros: Soild construction, impedance options, small enclosure size, trim ring, grill system, DVC......
Cons: Packaging is my only complaint. Rockford sends the allen head mounting screws and driver but the bag they put them in is very fragile. One screw almost migrated into the area of the box with the sub. Otherwise no complaints.
Great sub I bought on the recommendation of a Crutchfield advisor to replace another 10 year old RF sub that just died. This sub went right in the same box easily and quickly and the sound is the same. Took about a week for break in. Perfect replacement, thanks Crutchfield!
Pros: Ease of install, perfect sound.
I ordered this speaker up to replace an old Infinity 10" that started having problems. I knew I wanted something by Rockford Fosgate but wasn't sure where to start. After reviewing the specs for their various models of 10" subs, I decided this one would best fit my system. Crutchfield also had the best price. I received my speaker on the day originally specified by Crutchfield. Once the speaker was installed and I dialed in my settings, I was pleasantly surprised with the pure tones this speaker produced. The rugged design of the sub lets me know that this baby won't need to be replaced any time soon. I am very pleased with every aspect of this speaker's performance and Crutchfield's service.
I listen to older rock and these Rockford fosqate are the hardest hitting subs
Pros: no cons the rock
It is amazing it hits hard and sounds great I love it!
Pros: Hits hard sounds great
Bought two of these to replace some old Sony XPlod's. They sound great with my new amp also. Now I just need to have my trunk lined with DynaMat because these guys knock loud!
I was looking to replace a Kicker CVR-10 that had the rubber pull out and after talking to a Crutchfield Specialist he recommended the P2D4-10 sub and it sounds great. Never had such good bass sound in our boat. Would recommend to anyone wanting good sounding bass.
Came exactly as advertised, simple install and sounds great. If you're looking for additional bass for musicality then this is perfect. It hits lows nicely without overpowering the highs from door speakers.
Pros: Cost, style, sound quality, size
I have two of these P-2s in a ported box hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate Punch 300 watt rms amp, this set up has the subs under powered some what but they still pound like crazy for two 10s, and ive been around alot of systems so i know how these 10s measure up to others and they are really a great buy for the sub you are getting, another thing dont let the 300 watt rms power handling fool you they are still plenty loud.

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P2D4-10 is a 10-inch subwoofer with dual 4Ω voice coils. The sub features a StampCast steel frame, quick-release compression terminals, a Kevlar fiber reinforced paper cone, and Santoprene surround. An anodized aluminum voice coil former and spider venting help keep the subwoofer cool.
Dual 4Ω Voice Coils: The dual 4Ω voice coils offer wiring flexibility; when wired in parallel the woofer presents a 2Ω load, when wired in series the woofer presents an 8Ω mono load.
Steel Basket: The P2D4-10 subwoofer features a StampCast steel basket for added rigidity.
Compression Terminals: The P2D4-10 features spring post terminals which accommodate speaker wire up to 10 gauge.
CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the P2D4-10 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Trim Ring: To improve the cosmetic look, a decorative trim ring is included that mounts over the flange of the woofer. When using the cast aluminum trim ring the woofer is first mounted with four screws, then the ring is placed on top of the woofer, aligning the final four holes of the woofer with ring. The other four screws are used for these holes to mount the ring and woofer to the enclosure. Without the trim ring the mounting height of the woofer is 7/8 of an inch.
Sealed Box: Rockford recommends a sealed enclosure with an optimum internal volume of 0.59 cubic feet (from 0.5 to 0.85 cubic feet is acceptable). Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box: Rockford recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.4 cubic feet using one 4" diameter x 14" long port; this yields a tuning frequency of 40 Hz. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output (below 32 Hz).

It is per speaker because they aren't sold in pairs. My son is driving these subs with the exact alpine you mentioned and they sound amazing. [ BRANDON J Dec 27, 2013 ]
300 RMS is the total the woofer can handle. Since there are two voice coils, you divide by 2 and reach 150 RMS per voice coil. [ BRANDON Dec 27, 2013 ]
