About the Rockford Fosgate P3-1X10

Jo Greene

Standout performance

Rockford Fosgate's P3-1X10 ported enclosure offers the extra power handling and advanced heat dissipation of a Punch P3 10" sub, so you'll hear impressive, crowd-drawing bass that just won't quit.

Heat-sink aluminum cone

The enclosure houses a Punch P3 10" sub, with a rigid anodized aluminum cone that holds its shape through heavy play, while staying light and responsive. The aluminum cone acts as a giant heat sink, and works alongside advanced cooling vents to direct heat away from the copper-clad aluminum voice coils. These innovative cooling techniques, plus a heavy-duty motor assembly, let this sub handle up to 500 watts RMS. The sub's dual voice coils are wired for a 1-ohm total impedance, so make sure your amp can power this enclosure safely.

Advanced port design

Rugged 5/8" medium-density fiberboard construction means this enclosure will hold strong for fat, heavy bass. Industrial-grade black carpet provides a clean, finished look, and protects your trunk from nicks and scratches. The spring terminals will accept bare wire, pin connectors, or banana plugs. This enclosure uses an advanced port design that promotes generous air movement, while reducing distortion-causing port noise, so you hear louder, deeper bass. Add an amp and some wiring, and feel the thick low end this enclosure adds to your ride.

Product Research

Features

Punch Woofer: The enclosure houses one front-firing Rockford Fosgate Punch P3D2-10 10" subwoofer. The dual 2-ohm voice coils are internally wired in parallel to present a 1-ohm load. The sub features a hybrid StampCast basket, an Anodized aluminum cone, and Santoprene surround. An anodized aluminum voice coil former and spider venting help keep the subwoofer cool.

Spider: Dual spiders made from tear and fatigue resistant poly-cotton improve mechanical stability under high excursion, maintaining consistent excursion characteristics.

Solid MDF Construction: The enclosure is constructed of high quality 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Vented Enclosure: The vented enclosure is aided by precision construction through computer design. The enclosure consists of one front firing 10" Punch P3 series subwoofer with a proprietary high-flow, low-noise port. The speaker terminals are located on the left side of the box (when facing the box). The box is covered in black carpet.

Tuned Port: The enclosure uses a front-firing proprietary high-flow, low-noise port to help produce deep and loud bass efficiently.

Box Carpeting: The enclosure is finished with high-density carpeting for superior durability. The carpet is black.

Speaker Terminal: The subwoofer enclosure uses one pair of high current, spring loaded binding posts. The binding posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Power Handling: The subwoofer can handle up to 500 watts RMS; 1000 watts peak power.

CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the P3D2-10 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle its rated power under continuous demand, not just for an instant.

Dimensions: The depth dimensions listed in Features & Specs include the subwoofer's trim ring, which adds approximately 7/8 of an inch. The depth of just the enclosure is 15-1/8 inches at the base and 12-7/8 inches at the top.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
can this work for 8 gauge wire?

A
The Rockford Fosgate P3-1X10 enclosure uses one pair of spring loaded binding posts which can accept pin connectors, banana plugs (single or dual), or bare wire up to 10-gauge. You wouldn't be able to connect 8-gauge wire directly to the subwoofer though. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Hope that helps!
