Rockford Fosgate built their 3Sixty.3 processor so you can enjoy amazing sound quality from your vehicle's sound system the quality you'd expect from a high-fidelity home stereo system or a pair of really good headphones. This sophisticated signal processor works with your laptop to give you awesome control. Once you load the software from the included setup CD, you can connect the 3Sixty.3 to your laptop with the included USB cable, and get to work creating a perfect-sounding system with the user interface controls displayed on your computer's screen.
The 3Sixty.3 can handle up to 8 inputs, whether they're line-level signals from an aftermarket receiver or speaker-level signals from a factory radio. You can set the input signals to combine together or stay distinct, and then assign them to up to 8 output channels. The setup CD includes a track to help set input levels and another track that's used in the "Auto Normalize" feature that flattens the entire system's EQ response curve automatically. The remote amp turn-on connection features an adjustable delay, so you'll never hear a pop when you turn your system on.
The 3Sixty.3 lets you add sources through both auxiliary RCA and TOSLINK optical connections. A wired remote control lets you switch between main source, auxiliary input, optical, or a Bluetooth® enabled device. The Bluetooth feature can be set to "Auto Play," which automatically switches the source over to your Bluetooth device when it sends out a notification or plays music.
The main user interface screen displays your speaker configuration, a wired remote simulator, an EQ graph, and the EQ controls. Each of the 3Sixty.3's 8 channels has its own crossover network, level adjustment, delay setting, polarity switch, and 31 bands of equalization. You can link channels together, if you want them to have identical EQ settings.
Each crossover network can be set as a high-pass, low-pass, all-pass, bandpass, high-shelf, or low-shelf filter, so you can take care of virtually any combination of speaker components. You can choose between 4 classes of crossover filters to achieve the exact audio response you want. (See bullets for details.) If that weren't enough, you can also select between 4 different slopes for each crossover response curve to attain unbelievable clarity from each of your speakers.
The 31-band parametric equalizer on each channel gives you the sonic power and control to really make your sound system sing. (That's 248 total bands of EQ, if you want to tweak them all.) Time alignment can be accomplished by measuring distances or by time settings, so your music gets centered on your listening position for an incredible improvement in musical clarity and realism.

i have been into car audio ever since i could drive and tried a whole bunch of names jl audio, rockford, alpine, polk,audio control to name a few. i have a ford with the sync radio which does everything i need but sound good. so i picked out my speakers i wanted (polk mm) front and rear, the amp alpine v90 5 channel (great amp) and a jl 13" shallow for the sub (love this sub) to hook everything up to the sync radio i decided to use the audio control lcqi for the eq's. after getting it hooked up professionally i was not impressed, i tried changing the gains and level matching and messed with the amps gains and filters and could not get the sound i was looking for after searching the internet and watching youtube videos i decided to try the rockford fosgate three sixty.3 i unhooked the audio control and installed the 360. Watch the online videos they are very helpful. i understood the operation and set up of this unit (its not the easiest to install) after installing it on a windows 7 laptop with the power cord plugged with the software running just plug the usb cable in and start to configure the unit, after i was done setting up the filters and letting it do the auto analyzing and leveling there was a night and day difference in sound, my wife could here the difference, everything sounded even no harshness or frequencies too loud. the alpine v90's gains are all the way down and the filters are off all dsp is from the 360. now i keep my laptop in the car.
Pros: after watching the videos. Everything. all controls can be done through the laptop you can setup and vehicle with any radio oem or aftermarket. there is no background noise, hiss, or pops very quiet and clean

I just got a 3sixty.3 and focused my initial efforts on getting it to work on my Windows 10 Surface Book. Here you go: 1. Download latest 3sixty.3 software from RockfordFosgate.com 2 Run install program and the separate driver install window that pops up accept and install. (It's a crap 2009 driver that makes it fail after install by saying "powered by USB" and not powered by "B+". 3. Run program , it will go to demo mode and say powered by USB. Close program. 4.Open CONTROL PANEL, then DEVICE MANAGER (or use Search tool and type in device manager). 5.Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers. 6. Right click on UNKNOWN USB DEVICE (Device Descriptor Request Failed). Select UNINSTALL then OK. 7. Reboot computer, then open 3sixty.3 software as per RF instructions and you will see "Powered by B+" and you will be rocking. 8. Have fun.
I've been using this unit for a month now with a uConnect 8.4 OEM head unit. Works great with high level input. I haven't noticed any extra noise introduced above the HU or amp levels. The auto normalization is great for leveling out stock HU equalization. My only complaint is I haven't got the 360 to detect on a laptop with Windows 10...yet. I've had to use Windows 7 and no issues with that.

Unit was installed 18 months ago by a very, very skilled installer and have had many issues. From software to not loading, unit not powering on etc. Now I have the right audio coming out of the left even when the left channels are muted . The blutooth is a joke and never stays connected. Also if your on the main source and blutooth connects the volume mutes. The Remote makes noise when adjusting and the light is way too bright which can not be adjusted. I would not recommend this product
Awesome difference in the sound even without changing anything, allowed me to easily adjust time delays to get the best possible sounds and the GUI was extremely easy to use
Stay Far Away . . . The RF 3Sixty.3. Wow what an amazing piece of audio equipment, if it would just work! This unit has so many issues I have no idea on they still have it on the market. I should have gone to all the forums and read the issues. There are others (here on Crutchfield) that report the same issues I am having with this unit. My buddy and I upgraded our Toyota Tundras. He went with a lesser priced unit. His install was done in 1/10 the time of mine and sounds just as good if not better than this RF unit for less than HALF the price. . . The configuration software locks up or never starts. You have to reload the software over and over. The unit will lose the settings and I have to re-upload them. After spending HOURS and HOURS fiddling with it, I finally went to audio forums and found others with the exact same issues. Plus it only works with Windows 7. I could not use my MS Surface OR my Mac Pro to configure the unit. You can use a table or Ipad? Really what year is this?? Had to borrow my dad's old laptop because the software is so antiquated it won't even work. If you can tell the frustration in this review, it is because today the unit has totally failed. Crutchfield is sending a new one out, I will be without any audio in my Truck for nearly a week . . This unit would truly be amazing if they could work out the NUMEROUS issues. However, the last firmware upgrade has been over 18 months ago.

This is quite an amazing device. The flexibility and control is endless. Makes that RTA software useful at last. If you have the cash this is a very hot ticket. I used this is a single cab Ram pickup with great success. I had the really nice factory head unit and wanted to keep it in place. The 3Sixty dialed in the signal to a nice level. It analyzes the maximum volume setting that is still clean. The ability to shift the sound stage timing left and right until it is just where you want it is wonderful. If your system does not sound like you want it you at to blame.
Pros: Tuning and flexibility to the max

I have owned this product for about 1 year and I am very pleased. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with a complete JL Audio system including 3 W6v3 Subs, 2 pairs of C3's, and a pair of dash mounted 3 1/4". I have 3 XD600s pushing the subs and an XD600/6 for the other speakers. I had a JVC head unit (KD-AVX77) that I bought about 3 years ago. 2 headrest tvs are also included and of course the 360.3. Before installing the 360.3 I could not get my sound right to save my life. I am a serious stereo hobbyist and have been installing stereos for almost 25 years. This product is absolutely amazing and nothing I have ever experienced, and second to none in its price range. The flat response alone improved the quality 10 fold and like I said I have a mid to high end system. It is actually designed to do just that, even your response across all bands. The eq is a bonus for the serious audiophiles. The only problem I had was the software wouldn't boot from time to time. Little did I know this unit requires the laptop to be hooked to a power source. So if anyone is having those issues just insure your laptop is plugged in. If you are on the fence about buying this then I would say go for it. I don't believe you will be disappointed. To set this right you are going to need a spectrum analyzer. This thing can not be tuned by the human ear properly so don't even try.

Sound is great , knowing what you are doing before you install it is even better. I thought this would be a simple setup , boy was i wrong . It took many weeks of back and forth effort from people around my hometown to help me in figuring out how to tune this little black box. I wish Rockford would have spent more time with a install video then the one they did. But that being said once I got it dialed in this thing is beautiful , not only was i able to get rid of all my crossovers (8 in total) but the 4 presets are nice. I listen to Country , Blues , Rap , Rock and being able to switch to a completely different eq setup on the fly is nice . Delay setup is nicely done letting me be in control of my sound stage. Having a good RTA plus a DD1

I purchased this processor because Toyota makes it impossible to install aftermarket head units. Impossible due to no availability of dash installation kits since they do not exist so I bought this as a way to improve the horrible JBL GreenEdge system. This was super easy to install or so my installer says and will do an amazing job for factory upgrades. It has summing built in so the JBL had no issues connecting to the 3Sixty.3. The setup was a little tedious but well worth any efort in sound quality.
Pros: Almost limitless configuration modes. Small in size and simple to use. Makes factory radio sound amazing.
Cons: Setup can be tedious and time consuming but it is definitely worth it. Price is a little high.
I have had the 3sixty for over a year. Im not an audio technician and have no idea how to optimize the sound - frequency, gain, butterworth, its all greek to me. You even have to measure distance from ear to furthest speaker. Come'on! No technician in my area has a clue. I live in a small town. One needs a technical degree to make this bad boy go and unfortunately Crutchfield service has failed the mark.

Absolutely incredible. It didn't matter how much money I put into my factory system (4 JL speakers, 2 JL tweeters, 2x 12in kenwood sub-woofers in a sealed box), it continued to sound like it was missing notes and the sub-woofer seemed to "misfire". I kept thinking maybe it was my 5 way alpine amp until I installed this bad boy. Just with the flattened response it was 200% better than without the DSP and once we tuned the equalizer my car began to sound like I was playing the music in a concert hall.
Pros: Amazing results, great for integration with the BMW 3 series system

This is a great DSP with lots of features like a remote and B/T module that you have to pay extra for with other options. That said, my third - count it, third - 360.3 has just crapped out on me. The first time, I had a power supply failure (the RF logo on top lights up red when this happens and it will not do anything). The warranty replacement they sent had some issue when you turned the bass adjustment knob the speakers would thud and when trying to figure out why this was happening, my CDT M6+ midbass blew (that's a beefy speaker, it must have gotten a hugely clipped signal because of the 360.3). Now I have the power supply failure thing again. I'm a seasoned and now professional car audio installer... this is not my fault. My third one had a nasty noise floor, too, so perhaps something internal was on its way out and it finally bit the dust. I have no choice but to go to another brand because, now that I'm "out of warranty" (again, they sent me two warranty replacements in the warranty period) I see no reason to pay again for a product that seems so faulty and unreliable. Something has to be done with the power supplies on these to protect them better.

I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew cab using only Scan-Speak 18W/4531G Revelator Woofers in the stock door location and CDT Audio ES-02 mid-tweeters mounted in 2" pvc pipe caps for a sealed enclosure, stuffed 50% with polyfill, crossfire mounted at eye level on the A Pillars. The left mid-tweeter is aimed directly at the right passengers left ear and the right mid-tweeter is aimed at the left passengers right ear. All the speakers are time-aligned to the driver side using Holm-Impulse software to time-align as closely as possible. The doors are deadened using Cascade Audio damping mat. Spectra Dynamics Deflex Pads are covering the inside skin of the outer door sheet metal. I'm using a Tube Driver TDB 475 amp to run the whole setup. The RF 3SIXTY.3 is the only unit that allows me to achieve not only great sound but truly World Class High End sound. I can hear deeper into the soundstage than ever before thanks to the way everything works synergistically together. Micro-dynamic shadings of the sound are usually lost in recordings but not with the 3Sixty.3. The laying of the music is incredible. I have no subwoofer nor do I need one. The bass detail with the setup is out of this world. I use an Astell & Kern AK100 as my sound source downloaded with up to 192K/24Bit music from HD Tracks. And the problem with the software cleared up if I restarted the computer when the problem showed up. Great product.

I purchased this product to upgrade the quality of my entire audio system and at first, I was highly impressed with the sound. I went with an all-Rockford setup in my 2013 Mustang, but decided to return this processor. The sound quality was okay, but I made up my mind to return this processor.
Pros: Outputs decent quality. It will definitely boost the audio gains you can expect from installing this processor. Installation is simple and the software is very easy to use when setting up.
Cons: -Software pulls up once out of five attempts. Causes the computer to crash far too often -Bluetooth is a waste, especially if you're running Samsung or a majority of newer Android devices. My LG G3 can't even connect to the processor and Rockford stated their BT isn't great with connecting to products outside of Apple, which I don't use. -Too much pink noise and distortion. No amount of tuning could solve this and it was VERY annoying.
great device for OEM integration. gives you all the ability to adjust settings to your liking. install was simply, software setup wasn't difficult either.

The unit sounds great when you are able to get the PC interface working. Connecting was hit or miss, I would say 1 out of 4 tries worked. The 360.3 is very slow to respond to changes in the software. Each change will cause the audio to mute for a second. This includes eq, volume and delay settings. Very annoying. As far as a DSP interface, this one is dragging it's knuckles on the evolutionary scale. DSP has been out since circa 1990's, the 360.3 should be much better than it is. The bluetooth interface, which attracted me to the unit, worked ok, occasionally it would loose connection. Strange, intermittent issues with the remote were first traced to the proximity of the supplied cable to the stock class D amp (found this out on youtube, confirmed by RF) and later the cable itself had issues. I gave two stars for physical attributes and overall sound quality. 20 years a professional audio engineer and 25 as a car audio guy, I have never had to fight with any piece of gear like this one.
Pros: The unit is a good size and easy to mount. The control and USB interface cables are off the shelf and easy to replace for resale The software is basic IMO very similar to the BitOne. The unit did not give off much heat.The sound was fine and the physical layout is well thought out. Once things were set I was happy, until I encountered the listed interface issues wanting to make adjustments. Bluetooth was nice when working

This is the best OEM integration processor I've installed for my car stereo. The flexibility is unlimited, I can do so much to improve the sonic quality of my stock head unit. Installation was easy too, the balanced output is completely noise free even when the amplifier gain was up pretty high. I upgraded to the 3Sixsy.3 to place my old AudioControl LCQ-1 and what a big difference. It took me a long time fine tune the LCQ-1 to be acceptable and only minutes with 3Sixty.3 to sound great. I would recommend this unit for any OEM integration upgrade, it totally eliminates the sound quality and amplifier compatibility issue with your current OEM system.

Cons: You can adjust everything, so if you aren't versed in proper use of time alignment, crossover settings, eq adjustment, amp headroom and gains, etc... You need a pro!! I am a pro (engineer now, did car audio professionally some years ago), and I had to do research to figure it all out.
I recently purchased this. This is a very good unit the sound quality is also good, it automatically analyzed my vehicle & did an initial tuning but I still need to do more fine tuning myself, a big plus for me was there was no turn on or turn off click or thump, unlike my previous integration unit. There are a lot of features on this unit I'm still learning about. But overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Note: To tune the 3Sixty.3 properly to your factory car audio system, the source unit must have a CD player, and you must have a separate amplifier with RCA inputs. A Windows PC laptop is also required for initial setup and adjustments.
DSM: DSM (an industry-leading manufacturing process) utilizes high-speed robotics, high-quality 1% tight-tolerance parts, and large board traces. The discrete components are laser etched to meet a particular value and a very low tolerance. This lower tolerance improves the efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components, and lowers operating temperature.
Frequency Normalization: Frequency normalization is achieved by characterizing the frequency response of the audio source based on a reference input signal. This reference input signal is used to establish a reference frequency response, which is stored in memory and used to select equalizer settings. The system restores missing spectral content by summing multiple input signals from the audio source. The system then normalizes the frequency response based on characterizations of the signal by utilizing equalizer settings from memory.
Bluetooth A2DP Audio Streaming: The 3Sixty.3 includes a Bluetooth wireless dongle which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled device.
RFLink: RFLink is a communication protocol allowing multiple Rockford Fosgate components to link-up with each other to provide intelligent control. The 3Sixty.3 features two RFLink jacks. Either one can be used to connect the included wired remote control.
Power LED: The RF logo illuminates white once initialized, illuminates blue when connected to a PC, flashes blue when transmitting data to/from a PC, and flashes red when a problem has occurred.
Mounting Options: The Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3 should be mounted inside the vehicle, such as under the passenger seat. It can also be mounted in the trunk area. It should never be mounted inside the engine compartment.
Interactive Graphic User Interface (GUI) Controlled via Windows PC: Once you have installed the Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3, a windows PC laptop will be need for initial setup and adjustments for the interactive signal processor to properly work with your system. The 3Sixty.3 includes a setup disc with windows PC software to configure the interactive sound processor to your vehicle and car audio system. Your PC must use a Windows XP, VISTA, or 7 OS with at least one USB (type-A) connection and have an internet connection. Once you've loaded the software onto your Windows laptop, you will then insert the disc into your vehicle's source unit (head unit).
Configuration Menu: The Configuration menu is used to set up the assign input/output configuration, input summing, assign source presets, input level set, and denormalization of a high level input, of the 3Sixty.3 processor
Speaker Selection: The upper left of the GUI displays a picture of a vehicle with the speakers (channels) displayed that were initialized in the Assign Input/Output section of the initial configuration. Each speaker (channel) can be configured individually or you can link together channels. For convenience the sub woofer channels just have one check box to link the level, crossover, and EQ. By selecting to link the left and right channel level, crossover, or EQ together what you do with one side will be duplicated to the other side. The speaker (channel) that is selected will be highlighted blue and the channels name will be displayed above the vehicle diagram.
Equalizer: The EQ graph will start with a perfectly flat response (20-20 kHz) when first setting up your equalizer, then any changes/additions to the 31-band EQ, filters, or Q, will be displayed in the EQ graph. Every channel has its own independent (unless linked) EQ adjustments. The EQ adjustments can be broken down into three separate sections; Crossover Network(s), Level & Delay, and the 31-Band EQ Adjustments.
Balanced/Unbalanced Switch: For matching the output of the 3Sixty.3 to the input of the amplifier, the interactive signal processor utilizes a compensation circuit to insure an 8V pre out regardless of the switch position.
Remote Output Delay: Remote Output Delay Timing options include 1 sec, 2 sec, 4 sec, or 8 sec. This allows you to customize the time delay from when the 3Sixty.3 initializes (turns on) to when it turns on any external amplifiers connected to its REM OUT (blue wire in 4 pin power harness). This extended timing ensures that the source unit and 3Sixty.3 are on and initialized before initializing (turning on) the amplifiers, therefore eliminating any turn-on "pop" noise.
Wired Remote Control: The included wired remote features two 3-way rotary knobs. The two knobs can be programmed to control two of the following three functions when rotating the knobs; Master Volume, Sub Output Level, and Punch EQ Output Level. Pressing the knob on the left selects between four inputs (Main, Bluetooth, AUX, & Optical). Pressing the right knob switches between 4 stored EQ presets. The wired remote control's 8 LEDs indicate multiple functions. If either of the knobs are rotated all 8 LEDs work sequentially to indicate the level of what the user has configured that knob to do. When no LEDs are illuminated the configured knob is at its minimum output level position, and when all the LEDs are illuminated it indicates the max output level position. When no knobs have been rotated or 5 seconds after one has been rotated, the LEDs function changes to indicate the "Preset" selected (1-4) on the four LEDs above the right knob and the "Source" selected on the four LEDs above the left knob. The source LEDs are as follows; (1) Main, (2) Bluetooth, (3) AUX, and (4) Optical. The wired remote control comes with 19.5' of cable and a mounting bracket, and should be mounted in a location that is readily accessible to the driver. The casing surround the remote control can be removed to flush-mount the device.
Power/Ground Connections: The 3Sixty.3 interactive signal processor includes a detachable 4-pin connector with 16AWG wire leads for the Power, Ground, Remote In, and Remote Out.
8-Channel RCA Inputs/Outputs: The Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.3 is equipped with 8 RCA inputs and 8 RCA outputs for Front Left/Right channels, Front 2 Left/Right channels, Rear Left/Right channels, and Sub Left/Right channels. The RCA terminals are nickel-plated to resist signal degradation and corrosion.
Note: The 3Sixty.3 can be set up to create a 8-channel output with only 2-channels (Left & Right) of input. However, for the best sound stage, it is strongly recommended to connect into all of the outputs from the vehicles factory system. If you are not using all 8 inputs (Front/Front2/Rear/Sub) you can SUM the inputs during configuration under the OEM system setup. Keep in mind that if you choose to use SUM, all left channels selected will form one signal and all right channels selected will form one signal. Stereo imaging will be maintained, but your fader may cease to function depending on the channels selected to sum.
8-Channel High-Level Input (w/ Signal Sense Turn-On): The interactive digital processor includes a detachable 16-pin connector with 16AWG wire leads for connecting up to 8 high-level channels of input. The 3Sixty.3's high-level input offers automatic signal sense turn-on, which means the device automatically turns on when it senses an audio signal.
Note: Make sure to maintain signal polarity when using the high level inputs. Failure to do so may cause undesirable phasing effects and the signal sense may not turn on the unit.

It doesn't have to be this one, but you definitely need a digital processor. Your factory equipment comes with the frequencies specifically tuned to work with the cheap factory speakers, and just upgrading speakers and even adding an amplifier will actually make it sound worst. (Believe me, I have been there). The processor will "clean" all frequencies and make them "flat" again, making your new speakers sound great, even when "flat", now if you get it tuned up your sound will be outstanding. My advise is that if you are not going to get a digital processor then better leave the original system the way it is. If you can not leave (as I didn't) with the factory system, them contact Crutchfield to get advise on your options for a processor (or factory system integration system) Please be aware this processor will automatically clean your frequencies to put them flat, but would not auto-tune. No.. only if you want to control all the speaker frequencies from the highs to the lows and separately. It will let you control time delay from each speaker if you want the music to be very clear. You should Google your car and see if anyone has done this before! Or you can call Crutchfield " I'm not a sponsor" and they will tell you what you need and if you need it. I hope this helps? Need is relative. You do not need the Fosgate 3sixty. A simple line out converter would work for installing amp, or changing out the head unit for aftermarket. If you wanted to keep the factory head unit than any crossover or line out converter with speaker level inputs would technically work.. the 360 is all of the above plus a 30-31 band digital equipment with every imaginable detail (crossover point, crossover slope, crossover filter, freq band level control, bass level control, etc.) adjustable.. knowing what I know now I would probably not buy a head unit again. I would simply tie this (or similar unit) in with speaker level inputs and use this as my factory integration.. if you're not looking for $500 worth of control, then I would go for one of the cheaper audio control units (lc6 or lc7).. those crossover points would be preset and would not include the digital equipment, but be much easier to use.. You may not need this thing but it is a very impressive tool. I installed this in my Ram truck to help manage and tune my amps while still using the stock head unit. It was a major big WOW! It's really quite simple, unless you have an RTA I would really mess with the EQ that much, however the setting the frequency depends on what you want out of your system, I have mine set at an overlap. My door speakers are set at 80hertz and my subs are set at 85hertz. That way I don't miss any frequency. Not your time alignment is where it's the simplest. Change your preference to inches. Then you take physical measurements of how far away your speakers are and delay all of them to match the furthest one. The gain is set all by itself. to be honest if you have no clue then nothing I can say here can help you. The most efficient thing to do is type in the 360. 3 on youtube and watch the numerous YouTube videos out there. they will give you a brief rundown of its functions, operations and how to set it up. The next thing you have to do is trial and error by playing with the settings and listening. other than that you may actually need some sort of formal technology training.. [ MARC C Feb 09, 2015 ]
The 360 is designed for advanced audiophiles. You have to know the audio lingo to set it up properly. It offers no automatic tuneing feature other then the auto summing/eq of the speaker level inputs so you have to do all the work on its main outputs which most audio guys would rather do themselves anyway. All i can suggest is google "eq setup" and from that you should get back some good info. As a last effort take it to a custom car shop to have it tuned and the tech will be in awe of its power if he has never seen one. [ kris Feb 09, 2015 ]

I have pretty much solved the connection with one minor question. The manual states that you can not use RCA inputs in conjunction with the High Level input, only with the AUX. Therefore you can output to any RCA source. I will use the High Level input for all the factory speaker connections and use AUX input to SUB output to my amp and subs. Currently my RCA cables are connected to Rear output of source unit, should these be connected to the AUX as well since they will go into the AUX of the 3sixty3 or are the ok as they are? ??? I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Fosgate 3Sixty.3 Digital Signal Processor will allow you to keep your factory receiver and add speakers Rockford and amps as you wish. Let me start by saying that we have not yet researched the 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan, and I am basing vehicle information on the 2013 year model without the Dynaudio System. Generally it is not recommended to add amplifiers to the factory speakers, as the manufacturer has matched power available to the speaker capability. You would be able to add new speakers and subwoofers and power new gear with external power amps as needed. If you change speakers and add a four channel amplifier, you will not only have more volume, but better sound quality as well. As to a solution, our research on the 2013 Tiguan shows that there may be little depth available for the front door speakers. None of the aftermarket speakers we offer show as fitting easily. The Polk Audio db6501 6-1/2" Component System is very good quality, but is showing as an inch deeper physically than the factory speakers. You may want to take your vehicle to a professional installer in your area to see if fit is available in the doors. The same speakers are showing as an easy fit for the rear doors. The speakers are riveted in all locations, and tehse will need to be drilled out to remove the factory speakers and new mounting screw holes will need to be drilled to attach the speakers. For a subwoofer, I recommend the JL Audio PowerWedgeCS110LG-TW3. This small enclosure will really provide substantial, accurate bass reproduction. To power everything the Alpine PDX-V9 is a five channel amp, with clean power to spare. If you are still using the factory head unit for the car rather than an after market there is a bit of a hissing sound that is produced from the speakers. However, the sound is very clear when you turn up the volume. As for engine noise, there is none that I could hear of. I feel that if I were to use an aftermarket unit; the 3sixty.3 would perform much better since it would not have to convert the factory audio to flat. No, this unit or any other will not get rid of engine noise per say. It might provide a band aid however there is probably and underlining issue somewhere. Engine noise can be a number of things. Bad equipment ground to chassis, burned trace on circuit board(s), poorly designed gear, wire shorted to chassis. Hunting down noise is as much science as it is luck sometimes. [ John Sep 05, 2014 ]

Contrary to those trying to sell expensive cables, filters, etc., engine noise is usually caused by a ground plane issue. Ground all 12V system components, like your amps, head unit, powered crossovers, 360 (if you get one), etc. in the same place. Important note- the common ground you create can be an extra ground if one of the components is already grounded by it's chasis; in other words, there's no need to isolate everything. This has worked for me 99% of the time. In rare cases where you have really crappy components or a super noisy alternator and/or bad/loose alternator wiring or some other issue I've not encountered, the noise may not go fully away. If this is the case, the troubleshooting can get a bit more complex. Now, back to the 360; I purchased it, because I wanted to create a complex system but keep my fctory head unit.
