With all the advances in audio formats — MP3, CD, MiniDisc, satellite radio — you need speakers that will keep your sound system up-to-date. Rockford Fosgate fanatic P components have plenty of that "in-your-face" sound to bring out the best from any audio source.

The FNP2614U has a 6-1/2" mica-filled poly woofer that hits your low notes with accuracy and authority. A 3/4" mylar dome tweeter sounds true-to-life highs, and can be flush-, surface-, or wedge-mounted for superior imaging. A high-pass crossover (6300 Hz,18 dB/octave) directs low frequencies away from high frequency driver. 1-year warranty.

  • 3/4" mylar dome tweeter swivels in flush and surface mounts for superior imaging
  • in-line high-pass crossover (6300 Hz,18 dB/octave)
  • built-in protection circuitry prevents high power levels from damaging the tweeter
  • frequency response 61-20,000 Hz
  • power range 8-50 watts RMS
  • peak power handling 100 watts
  • sensitivity 88.9 dB
  • top mount depth 1-3/4"

Why install component speakers?

A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

Specifications Note

Woofer Cone Material: The woofer cones are made with mica filled polypropylene, a strong, lightweight material with high internal damping to provide excellent sound reproduction.

1" Voice Coil: The 1" multi-layered copper voice coils are made to be durable and handle high power.

Mounting: The woofers can be mounted in a 6-1/2" opening or a 6-3/4" opening. Each woofer has four mounting tabs, allowing it to be mounted in a 6-3/4" opening.

Tweeter Dome Material: Each 3/4" dome tweeter is made with a Mylar dome that offers smooth high frequency response.

Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters may be flush, surface or "wedge" mounted. The tweeters swivel inside the flush and surface mount sockets, but they do not swivel in the "wedge mount" sockets.  The "wedge mount" sockets surface mount to the vehicle and hold the tweeters at a fixed angle; the sockets may be mounted to provide a 15 or 60 degree angle. The tweeters must be installed using one of the three sockets.

Flush Mount (swivel) Surface Mount (swivel) "Wedge Mount" (fixed 15 or 60 degree angle)
Mounting Depth 1.169" 0.425 (screw depth) NA
Mounting Height 0.395" 1.048" 1.476" (60 degrees)
0.940" (15 degrees)
Cutout Diameter 1.75" NA NA
Frame Diameter 1.937" 1.791" 1.556"

Crossover Dimensions: 1.735"L x 4.543"W x 0.960"D

Crossover Type and Specifications: The crossovers contain an 18dB/octave, 6.3kHz high-pass network to prevent low frequencies from being sent to the tweeters; full range signals are sent to the woofers (extreme high and low frequencies are automatically rolled off by the woofer according to it's inherent high and low frequency limitations).

Optical Compression Tweeter Protection: This built-in protection circuit limits power to the tweeter when the "danger" threshold is exceeded. Because the circuit simply limits power and doesn't shut the tweeter off, this method of protection is inaudible.

Input/Output Connections: The crossover input wires are bare ended, and the output wires are terminated with quick-slides.

Mounting Tabs: There are two mounting tabs on each crossover.

Specifications Note

Specifications Note: The manual lists separate sensitivity specs for the woofer (86.8dB) and tweeter (91dB). The sensitivity figure listed in the Crutchfield database is the average of the two individual sensitivity specifications. The average sensitivity (88.9dB) is given because it more accurately represents the overall sensitivity of the system; this permits a better estimation of the power needed for clean, high volume output.
