Features
Enclosure Compatibility

Features

Woofer: The cone is constructed of molded polypropylene. Polypropylene is lightweight and strong, giving the woofer high power handling and low distortion.

High Excursion Large Roll Surround: A large edge roll surround allows Punch woofers to produce 20% more linear excursion than standard surrounds, resulting in more bass output.

Parabolic Triangular Cone Geometry Support System: By bonding a polypropylene parabolic dust cap of equivalent size to the cone body, a balanced triangular structure is created. This system reduces piston flex and eliminates cone distortion.

Linear Spider: A compliant linear spider improves mechanical stability under high excursion, maintaining consistent excursion characteristics. This eliminates the need for a "break-in period."

Spider Support Ring: This integrated ring increases the bonding surface area between the voice coil former and spider, establishing a stronger joint. The result is increased mechanical power handling under high power/high excursion situations.

Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former: Aluminum voice coil formers offer superior heat dissipation over other commonly used materials. The hard-anodized finish increases the former's strength. These two factors combine to improve the overall power handling characteristics of the subwoofer.

Precision Stamped CRS Basket: Reinforced cold roll steel basket legs dampen unwanted resonance for better bass coupling.

Removable Magnet Cover: The cosmetic magnet cover can be removed when additional mounting clearance is required. With the magnet cover installed, the woofer has the following dimensions:

  • Magnet Diameter: 6.976"
  • Depth as top: 5.258"

Spring Posts: The heavy-duty spring posts will accept pin connectors and bare wire.

Concealing Ring: Once the subwoofer is mounted, the concealing ring can be installed to hide the mounting screws, giving the subwoofer a finished look. When mounted, the concealing ring adds approximately 3/8" to the woofer's mounting height and approximately 5/8" to the frame diameter.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Rockford Fosgate range from 0.5 cu/ft to 1.0 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 0.65 cu/ft, so this is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield.

Recommended Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Rockford Fosgate range from 1.0 cu/ft to 1.5 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 1.25 cu/ft, so this is the enclosure recommended by Crutchfield. One 3" diameter x 7.3" long port should be used with a 1.25 cu/ft enclosure.

Recommended Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: Rockford Fosgate's enclosure chart lists three compatible bandpass enclosures. The highlighted bandpass enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 0.65 cu/ft, a vented chamber volume of 0.65 cu/ft and a single 3" diameter x 11" long port. The smallest recommended enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 0.5 cu/ft, a vented chamber volume of 0.45 cu/ft and a single 3" diameter x 12.75" long port. The largest recommended enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 0.75 cu/ft, a vented chamber volume of 0.90 cu/ft and a single 3" diameter x 9.25" long port.

Really turns Heads

Written By Spruce, C-Town MS on Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Coming from a long line of full compatition systems i decied to try to stuff 4 of the P1's into my reglar cab F150. With a sony XM-D9001 GTR powering them. at 4ohms rms 550. I have had some pretty decent luck with these other than 3 blowing with in the first 3 weeks of having them..2 weeks waiting on the boxes to be built. For the price i paid i am happy and with Crutchfields customer Service being so helpful it really makes it worth it.

Best Buy For The Buck

Written By Mallow-Man, Helena, MT on Sunday, February 25, 2007

Rockford makes aguably the best subs on the market. I have this p1 in my regular cab F-150 with a performance box hooked up to a 350 watt bridged Kenwood amp. and it hits extremely well and is very clean. It covers both the highs and lows. This is a very good buy for the buck.

Better than I imangined

Written By Carlos, Dalton, Ga on Thursday, November 30, 2006

I was raised in Miami so my boys always talked about Rockford and how they pound. I was never really a car guy but when I jumped in my homeboys '94 Chevy S10 I almost fell asleep when them lows hit bottom. He had 2 10" P2's powered by a P8002. But the Bass control was only half way up. I fell in love.

I just bought 2 10" P1 with a P4002. I dropped them in a '97 Volvo 850. It's just enough for that car. Especially since last week I put an Alpine CDA-9820XM with 2 5", 2 6 1/4", and 2 5"x7" Polk Audio speakers. All together it souund really nice and clean. My Favorite CD's to thump to are by DJ Laz out of Miami.

My wife has a '99 Mitsubishi Diamante that has twice
the trunk space and she said I can play with whatever I want to drop in it. Can I say that that is the best gift a girl can give.

Alot of thump for the money.

Written By traveling1253, Maine on Monday, October 09, 2006

Title says it all. Running one of these in a .65 cu/ft custom enclosure fed by a 150w RMS Pioneer amp. Won't blow out the glass but you wouldn't be looking at a 300w peak power 10" if that was what you're after.

okay. .

Written By boomboomalex, Augusta Georgia on Friday, September 22, 2006

bought 4 of these, with two, p3001's powering a pair in my blazer. They're okay, I think my old set-up of 2 kenwood 12's pounded harder. and 2 weeks after I finally pieced my set up one of the 10's messed up, made this buzzing, gurgling sound so I could never really have the system to it's potential, but crutchfield is cool and so I'm sending it in but it's such a hassle.

I guess if you want a system where people can hear you a ways get a pair of 15's, even the cheap P1 15's hit reaaall hard.

the 4 10's deliver a crisp sound, but sometimes I wouldn't mind people hearing me from a ways.

But now I'm selling a pair and then purchasing a 15'' so I can have the best of both worlds, 2 10's and a 15.

Rockford Fosgate P110S4

Written By Davison, Billings, MT on Wednesday, September 06, 2006

I recently bought this woofer to add a good bass presence in my system. It did the trick. I combined it with a 400W amp to reduce the strain on the amp itself, and it works beautifully. It not only added the bass presence I was looking for, but it blows away the competition.

The type of bass you get from your component subwoofer doesn't depend on the woofer alone. You'll need a strong, tightly constructed enclosure for optimum subwoofer performance.
