Rugged 5/8" medium-density fiberboard construction means this enclosure will hold strong for fat, heavy bass. Industrial-grade black carpet provides a clean, finished look, and protects your trunk from nicks and scratches. This enclosure uses an advanced port design that promotes generous air movement, while reducing distortion-causing port noise, so you hear louder, deeper bass. Product Research

Features

Punch Woofer: The enclosure houses two front-firing Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S4-12 12" subwoofers. The 4-ohm, single voice coil subs are internally wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm load. Each subwoofer features a StampCast steel frame, a Kevlar fiber reinforced paper cone, and NBR surround (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber). Anodized aluminum voice coil formers and spider venting help keep the subwoofers cool.

Spider: A compliant linear spider made from tear and fatigue resistant poly-cotton improves mechanical stability under high excursion, maintaining consistent excursion characteristics.

Solid MDF Construction: The enclosure is constructed of high quality 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Vented Enclosure: The vented enclosure is aided by precision construction through computer design. The enclosure consists of two front firing 12" Punch P1 series subwoofers with a proprietary high-flow, low-noise port. The speaker terminals are located on the left side of the box (when facing the box). The box is covered in black carpet.

Tuned Port: The enclosure uses a front-firing proprietary high-flow, low-noise port to help produce deep and loud bass efficiently.

Box Carpeting: The enclosure is finished with high-density carpeting for superior durability. The carpet is black.

Speaker Terminal: The subwoofer enclosure uses one pair of high current, spring loaded binding posts. The binding posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Power Handling: The subwoofer can handle up to 500 watts RMS; 1000 watts peak power.

CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the P1S4-12 subwoofers conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle its rated power under continuous demand, not just for an instant.

Dimensions: The depth dimensions listed in Features & Specs include the subwoofer's trim ring, which adds approximately 7/8 of an inch. The depth of just the enclosure is 15-3/4 inches at the base and 13 inches at the top.

The sub enclosure measures 33-7/8"W x 15-1/8"H x 16-5/8"D1 x 13-7/8"D2. It may be a little tight on the height but it should fit.

Q
Will this fit into a 08 Mazda 6?
gary  Dec 03, 2019
1 answer
A
It fits PERFECTLY in my 05 Pontiac Grand Prix, which Google says has 16 ft3... says 08 Mazda 6 has 15.2 ft3. May not mean it DOESN'T fit, but that's all I can offer.

Q
will this fit into the trunk opening for a 2018 Mustang Coupe? Or possibly the 10" version.
michael  Aug 30, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Michael! Thanks for your question! The P1-2X12 box is about 1/8" too tall for the trunk area of your Mustang, but the 10" version of this would be a good fit! If you would like to look around, the available area for mounting a sub box in the trunk is: Width (side to side) = 39" Height = 15", Depth (front to rear) = 38" at bottom, 32" at top. The trunk opening will limit the size of the box being installed, so larger sub boxes may need to be installed by folding down the rear seats and installing the box from the front of the trunk. Feel free to chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, if you need anything else!

Q
Can the sub box fit a 08 mustang GT convertible?
charles  Apr 29, 2019
1 answer
A
I have an 08 Honda Acura TL and the trunk space is 12.5 f in diameter, or 6 x 4.9 ft in diameter. My trunk barely fits it and I'm unable to push it as far back as I'd like. I am looking in to cutting away some of the upper panel, because it extends 2 or 3 inches from the metal frame and it would be enough for my subs to slide farther back.

Q
Would it be wise to run 2 RF P1 2X12 at 1 ohm?...i have the RF P1000X1bd amp
ted9481  Apr 20, 2019
1 answer
A
Yes I think that would be safe to wire them to 1 ohm and would certainly maximize the output from that P1000X1bd amp. If you have the room in your vehicle I say go for it!

Q
Can the rf P1 2X12 be ran at 1 ohm...i have a RF P1000X1bd?
ted9481  Apr 20, 2019
1 answer
A
No because the box is internally wired to 2 ohms. You can't change that without seriously dismantling the box which we don't recommend. If you want suggestions on subs that you can wire to 1 ohm you can connect with one of our friendly product advisors here: https://bit.ly/2QNxGQB

Q
So from what I can see, even though there are two subs, there is only one speaker terminal requiring a mono channel amp, correct?
bbday  Dec 08, 2015
1 answer
A
That would be correct. You will need to get a two ohm mono amplifier to power these subs.

Q
Would i have to buy an amplifier with this sub?
jake  Aug 15, 2015

yes does not include a amp unless you want to run it off your radio but highly would recommend an amp either a r500x1d @ $199.99 or t500-1bdcp @ $499.99 both are good for 500watts rms so you won't have to worry about over heating or complications
angel  Aug 15, 2015
A
YES and atleast 500+ watts. Can go to 1000 pretty easy.
