Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.
Rockford Fosgate designed the Punch P1652 6-3/4" component system as a high-grade replacement for your factory speakers. Each speaker features a responsive polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround that'll stand up to hours of high-volume jams. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the surround to the cone that yields up to 25% more cone area, for fuller sound and stronger performance. The dome tweeters provide clear, extended highs that can hold their own when the bass gets heavy, and Rockford Fosgate includes flush- and surface-mount adapters.
Take a closer look and you'll notice a couple of cool innovations. The slots around the frame eliminate the need to redrill screw holes when the factory holes are just a little bit off. The crossovers are built into the woofer baskets, so there's no extra box to install. And these speakers come with adapter plates that allow them to fit into 6"x9" speaker openings.
Note: Rockford Fosgate describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Why install component speakers?
A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

Ok, I knew RF made outstanding amps, but was not sure about speakers. These sound amazing to me. More bass than I thought possible. Love , love , love these speakers!! Crisp highs, outstanding mid bass. Head unit makes a big difference, but these get the thumbs up from me.
Pros: Price to sound quality is very good. Look awesome. No external crossover to install - HU to woofer to tweeter, and ur done.
Cons: Had to take the door panels off to install, kind of a pain, but would have done that with any speakers.
Awesome sound, great looks
These start off by looking nice, woofer and tweeters. The woofer has built in crossover, which made wiring much easier in the front doors. The tweeters have a cool way of connecting to the where you put them...hard to describe, but works well.
Pros: These start off by looking nice, woofer and tweeters. The woofer has built in crossover The tweeters have a cool setup.
Great all around speakers. Have them on a amp and they sound like a 7 or 800 dollar pair of speakers. Couldnt be happier.

Injection-Molded Polypropylene Woofers: The woofer cones are mineral filled, injection-molded polypropylene. This molding process assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.
Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.
VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.
FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Adapter Bracket: For mounting flexibility, the woofers and tweeters can be mounted in 6x9 applications using the supplied brackets.
PEI Dome Tweeters: The 1" dome tweeters are made of Poly-Ether-Imide (PEI); PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
Mounting: The P1T-S provides multiple mounting configurations; choose flush or surface mount. The surface mount housing can be positioned at a 10° or 30° angle. Depending on the mount used, the installed dimensions are:
|Flush||Surface 10°||Surface 30°|
|Mounting Depth||0.961"||Screw Depth||Screw Depth|
Crossovers: The high-pass crossovers are integrated into the baskets of the woofers. The slope is 12dB per octave and the crossover point is 3000 Hz.
