About the Rockford Fosgate P1675

High-quality replacement speakers

Rockford Fosgate designed the Punch P1675 6-3/4" speakers as a high-grade replacement for your factory speakers. Each speaker features a responsive polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround that'll stand up to hours of high-volume jams. The dome tweeter and supertweeter provide clear, extended highs that can hold their own when the bass gets heavy.

Side view of P1675 6-3/4Rockford Fosgate innovations

Take a closer look and you'll notice a couple of cool innovations. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the surround to the cone that yields up to 25% more cone area, for fuller sound and stronger performance. The slots around the frame eliminate the need to redrill screw holes when the factory holes are just a little bit off. And these speakers come with adapter plates that you can modify to install these speakers into 5"x7", 6"x8", or 6"x9" openings. Grilles are included.

Note: The oversized terminals on these speakers won't connect to a Crutchfield wiring harness. A free 10-pack of female quick slides that you can splice onto our harness will be included with your speaker purchase.

Product Research

Features

Injection-Molded Polypropylene Woofers: The woofer cones are mineral filled, injection-molded polypropylene. This molding process assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.

VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.

Tweeters: Each speaker features two tweeters, 1/2" and 3/4" domes. The material used is PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide); PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.

StampCast Basket: The P1675 features StampCast steel baskets for added rigidity.

Adapter Bracket: For mounting flexibility, the included brackets can be modified to fit 5x7, 6x8, or 6x9 applications.

Note: The bracket is generic (cutout sized for a 5-1/4) and requires modification before the P1675 will fit into it.

Speaker Terminals: These speakers have 0.25" wide positive (+) terminals and 0.187" wide negative (-) terminals, which are too large for the vehicle-specific speaker harnesses supplied by Crutchfield for many vehicle applications. It is recommended that a pack of assorted female quick slides (item number 120FQS10PK, sold separately) be purchased and spliced to the harnesses to adapt them to the speaker terminals.

Q
Why does it not fit rear door of 3rd generation Toyota Tacoma DoubleCab (mine is 2019)?
woodsy  Feb 23, 2023
1 answer
A
It is too tall to fit behind the grille on the door panel when mounted with the Metra 82-8148 that we use for speaker installation in this vehicle. There would be enough room to fit this speaker, but you may need to fabricate your own speaker bracket.

Q
Will these sound better connected to an amp or will it sound just fine connected straight up to my head unit? (jensen vx7022)

Although I don't think there reaching anywhere near there potential they sound exhalent ran just off my factory head unit (2012 Silverado). I got these with plans to add a new head unit and possibly an amp in the future and not need to replace them again. I've had mine in for going on 2 years and I don't have any complaints about them. Hope this helps

MIne are run by an aftermarket head unit with 40W per channel and they handle that just fine. If you add an amp I would add crossover to reduce the bass. these sound very good at all volumes with the 40W my unit has.

I installed these on an Alpine head unit and thought I would notice a big difference in sound but I did not. After some research I found that to benefit from a speaker upgrade you should get an amp with it. I installed an Alpine KTP-445 amp and it dramatically improved the sound. This amp is a small unit and very easy to install, I would definitely recommend the speakers if you're going to pair it with an amp.

Q
Why will they not fit 2004 Chevy Silverado front door? I can change in connections...
igoor  Apr 06, 2016
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. The items we show that fit would be without modifying the door opening. Your door opening shows to be 5.525". These speakers have a slightly larger basket. They would need an opening 5.582" or larger. I agree it is a very slight difference. If you decide to try we still have the 60 day satisfaction guarantee. Hope that helps.

Q
Hello, installing these in the rear side cubbies of a 1990 Toyota extended cab pickup. Driving them with a Kenwood amp. will they sound better "free air" or seal them up to the cubby box they sit in which measure 9 x 9 x 6" deep.?
bud  Nov 06, 2015
1 answer
A
These are designed for use in free-air applications. You could also put them in a box if that helped save space in your car, but it may not add much to the sound quality in doing so.
