You expect big sound and sharp looks when you select Rockford Fosgate speakers, and the Punch Series car speakers will fulfill all your expectations.

The P1692C 6"x9" speakers feature tweeters made from titanium, a material which excels at high frequency reproduction. The details in your music will cut through road noise or the booming lows of a subwoofer with ease. Sturdy woofer cones team up with butyl rubber surrounds to reproduce the lows with clarity, while solid steel frames control distorting vibrations.

Punch speakers can handle the power, so they're a great match for a Punch amplifier. If you're installing these speakers in a non-factory location, top them off with the classy chrome-plated grilles for a look that's distinctive and bold.

Where's the punch?

Written By Sal, Suffolk County NY on Wednesday, January 17, 2007

Part of a custom restore to a 91 Firebird was to replace the factory sound system. I purchased and installed a Kenwood KDC-MP2035 receiver (excellent),
Alpine SPS462C 4X6 coaxial dash speakers (poor), and Rockford Fosgate (fair). The tech help at Crutchfield was very good. The speakers were wired properly but just didn’t perform with the richness I expected. The OEMs have richer sound at lower volumes. The replacements sounded better at high volumes. Not willing to rattle my rear view mirrors to achieve good sound quality I reinstalled the OEM coaxial. The OEM dash are 10 Ohm and the rear 8 ohm. The impedance rating needs consideration. Nothing beats hearing before buying.

Poor quality speakers

Was satisfied with these speakers for a few months until they stopped working. Good sound with decent bass, but they just didn't last, and I'm not one to really crank up the volume.

great speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was more than suprised by these speakers. I was not expecting the amount of bass they provided. They are being powered by a JVC-AR770 head unit and I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking to upgrade their 6x9s and not looking to spend a lot of money.

nice

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cheesy paper cone and plastic 6 X 9's in the rear of this car can be swapped out for the Rockford's in minutes. Because the Cruthfield supplied wiring adaptors were too short to allow the wire to pass thru the back of the factory plastic speaker enclosure, I had to notch the enclosures so the wire could pass smoothly between it and the speaker basket. The Rockford's fit snuggly in the enclosures and produced a notably crisper, cleaner sound with small bass improvement. Well worth the small amount of time and $$ invested.

Great Speakers - Good Bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 96 chevy pickup and the factory speakers are actually pretty good, but lack bass (I ordered the "premium speakers" from the factory) I originally tried the sirius powered sub. This didn't really give me the full sound I was looking for and it took up a lot of space. I replaced it with these speakers in Q-Logic boxes under the back seat powered by a 65w per channel amp. Wow!! Great Bass and my truck now rocks with a full stereo sound. Of course Crutchfield's free tech support was awesome.

Excellent Speakers!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are absolutely worth the price! Not only do they have awesome bass, but they also produce some crystal clear mids and highs too. I combined these with a a pair of Rockford 3 way speakers for my front doors and a sub too for some amazing sound in my car. I use an Eclipse deck with 25 watts rms per channel to power these speakers and they sound awesome, even when turned way up. I'm sure powering them with an amp would make them sound even better, but they also sound great on their own. I would highly recommend that if you are thinking of getting the foam baffles, to get the bigger size (more space between the back of the speaker and the baffle). I got the smaller size and the cone movement would cause the back of the baffle to rattle against the back of the speaker. Other than that, you can't go wrong with these speakers!

Features

Mica-injected Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The woofer cones are constructed of mica-injected polypropylene. Mica adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.

3/4" Titanium Composite Dome Tweeters: Each speaker features a 3/4" titanium composite dome tweeter for superior sound stage and accuracy. The precision-designed EQ lens provides excellent performance in off-axis speaker locations.

Cold-rolled Steel Baskets: The cold-rolled steel baskets reduce unwanted resonance.
