Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.
Engineers at Rockford Fosgate designed the P1S4-10 10" subwoofer to dish out the kind of powerful low end you crave in your ride. Its responsive paper cone is reinforced with the same Kevlar® fibers used in bulletproof vests so you get the best of both worlds — warm bass that's exceptionally hard-hitting. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the oversized rubber surround to the cone that increases available cone area up to 25%, so this sub can push more air for even bigger bass.
The P1S4-10 sub features an extended pole piece and bumped backplate that leaves more room for heavy excursion, so it'll hit deeper lows without "bottoming out." This sub works equally well in a sealed or ported enclosure, so you can choose the kind of bass you want for your system.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 200 and 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Crisp hard hitting bass. Great value.
After 26 years of having a Rockford Fosgate Audiophile 10" sub I figured it was time to upgrade. I figured I would go with Rockford Fosgate again sine the last one I purchased lasted so long!! After reading the reviews on this sub I decided I found my replacement, besides.....the price was right!! It was very simple to install in my existing box. I am running a Rockford Fosgate Power150 (yes...it is 26 years old too lol). I heard a MAJOR difference as soon as I turned on my stereo!!! Then I readjusted my amp settings along with my stereo and to say the least I was amazed at the sound this sub produces. I listen to anything from Thrash Metal to Rap and the sound was impressive on such a broad range. I think I am going to start charging for back massages to all that sit in my car when the bass is thumping!!! lol Besides, after a long day at work it is a bonus that was not mentioned under the features section for this sub! :) I just cant wait till it breaks in and performs to its fullest ability! If you are looking for a great sounding sub without breaking the bank look no further. You will NOT be disappointed!!!!
Pros: Easy to install. Great bass without breaking the bank!
Cons: ummmmmmm........not if it lasts 26 years!!! lol
After lots of research and several calls to Crutchfield I chose to install three of these subs in my son's car. All I can say is "Wow!"!! I'm using a 5-channel Rockford amp (P1000x5) and driving them at 1.33 ohms in a sealed enclosure. These subs hit low and hit hard. My son listens to all kinds of music from hip hop to heavy metal, and they don't disappoint! And after installing the optional grills and trim rings, they look as good as they sound!
Pros: Love the speaker wire inputs, and would definitely recommend the grills.
Amazing subs! Hit much harder than the Memphis 10's I had.
Pros: Great build quality, super hard hitting!!
Great sub for the price. Looks good installed and has flexible mounting to ease installation.
Pros: Nicely built and looks like a more expensive speaker. Great sounding also.
Cons: At this price point I can not think of any cons.
Fast shipment and great value!
Pros: Comes with everything.
I have had many sub's and I must say that this is the best bang for your bucks! As always Crutchfield is a pleasure to deal with.
Pros: Sound is crisp and clean. Quick connects are easy to use and makes for a simple installation.
Cons: Didn't come with a protective cover but you can add on.
Installed two of these in a custom enclosure with .60 cu ft of airspace each and they sound awesome. Rockford Fosgate is the best when it comes to car audio.
Pros: Quality construction, awesome performance
Great sub,sound is great!
Pros: You can put lots of power to them and they preform!
extremely pleased with the sound of this sub. i have a 05 liberty and was tossed between one or two subs. once i got this, a sealed box, and was pushing it with my amp that runs 250rms 500peek, it was obvious that i made the right choice by only getting one of these monsters. add to the mix 4 kicker 6 1/2's in the doors, the sub blends beautifully and all my sounds come thru super loud and crystal clear. im beyond happy with this purchase.
Pros: produces awesome sound with great punch, your insides will rattle
i bought two rockford fosgate p1s 10 inch subs, and i didnt think they would hit hard at all. just because they were 10s, and p1s but i hooked them up to my buddys 400 watt amp (only 400 watts) and they pounded! i couldnt beleive them. he has two rockford p2 12s in a sealed encloser and my p1 10s hit harder because of my ported box. but i highly recomend these! dont let them fool you like i did! they were worth the money, they had a really deep bass. and its bass that you can feel. made the mirror shake and windows shake, and you could feel them in the seats. easy to hook up, they look awsome! as good as they sound. and theyre built very sturdy. well i think that covers it!
Pros: mirror shake, vibrates the seats, doors and everything. heard from far away. sturdy, ported encloser recomended (by me)
Cons: i cant say that i have any!

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S4-10 is a 10-inch subwoofer with a single 4Ω voice coil. The sub features a StampCast steel frame, quick-release compression terminals, a Kevlar fiber reinforced paper cone, and NBR surround (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber). An anodized aluminum voice coil former and spider venting help keep the subwoofer cool.
Steel Basket: The P1S4-10 subwoofer features a StampCast steel basket for added rigidity.
Compression Terminals: The P1S4-10 features spring post terminals which accommodate speaker wire up to 10 gauge.
CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the P1S4-10 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Trim Ring: To improve the cosmetic look, a decorative trim ring is included that mounts over the flange of the woofer. When using the PVC trim ring the woofer is first mounted with four screws, then the ring is placed on top of the woofer, aligning the final four holes of the woofer with ring. The other four screws are used for these holes to mount the ring and woofer to the enclosure. The trim ring increases the mounting height of the woofer to 15/16 of an inch.
Sealed Box: Rockford recommends a sealed enclosure with an optimum internal volume of 0.59 cubic feet (from 0.5 to 0.85 cubic feet is acceptable). Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box: Rockford recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.4 cubic feet using one 3" diameter x 8" long port; this yields a tuning frequency of 37.3 Hz. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output (below 32 Hz).

I ordered these subs because the price was right and they fit my sub box specs [ Michael Jul 11, 2016 ]

It should easily, I have an 800 watt amp for my two 10's on that exact sub, and it delivers plenty of power. 500 for one should be plenty of power for the sub to work properly! [ Hayden Jun 09, 2016 ]
