The P210D2 10" subwoofer's dual voice coil design allows you to get the most out of your amplifier, whether you have a single sub or a multi-woofer system. However you use it, the sub's beefy internal parts ensure solid power handling and resistance to the heat buildup that can damage lesser speakers.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Very good subwoofers

Written By David, Bakersfield, CA on Thursday, May 28, 2009

These subwoofers are very good, especially for what I paid for them. My set up isn't made for huge power, but they still hit quite well. I've got them in a ported box in a Saturn Ion with an Alpine iDA-X200 head unit with a Kicker ZX350-4 amp and a Streetwires 1 farad capacitor, all using 8 gauge power/ground wire. The amp is bridged to give 170 watts on each channel, and I have the subs wired in series. I only have to turn the gain up on the amp to half way before these things start to drown out my 4 Polk db651 speakers. They don't go as low as 12" subs, but that's to be expected. Bottom line is, these subwoofers get the job done, and I can only imagine what they're like if you wire 2 of these in series/parallel with a 2 ohm load and give them the full 250 watts RMS each.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased 2 of these in a sealed box my uncle built for me.I have them hooked up to a punch 250.2 amp with 4,5,and 6 gauge wire (We ran out of wire that came with it) in my '88 Camaro and I have them bridged at a 4 ohm load.I have them hitting off my back glass and they hit hard and are very loud on certain songs but they always hit hard and are loud during alot of songs. So I'd recommend getting one or more of these.Very good fosgate.I love these subs and amp!!

Awesome! I installed 2 of these in a custom ported box, hooked up to a California Profile amp and a JVC deck and man do they hit good! My neighbor came to the house and said she enjoyed hearing them from her bathroom! Great product for the price.

More than Expected

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to add some good solid bass to my system. I matched the Punch with a 800W Sony Explode amp. Built a custom box to specs and WOW. I ended up with much more than expected. Now I have to update my stock door speackers just to keep up. I am a 40 yr old that listens to many different types of music and I would highly recommed this sub for all genres. My 5 year old keeps asking "Daddy does this song boom boom?"

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If wired correctly these 10s will out perform most 12" subs. For the price nothing comes close. If you want hard hitting, face numbing performance then don't waste your money on subs that are twice as expensive as these but only have half the performance and quality. Kudos to Rockford Fosgate these are really excellent subs and I would highly recommend them...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler with the standard 4 speaker stereo system. It
had absolutely no bass and when you attempt to add bass it just
destorted the speakers. I added an Alpine stereo to it a couple of years
ago but wanted to install a subwoofer. I talked with a Crutchfield Tech and
decided to install a Profile AP400 with a Rockford Fosgate P 210D2 10"
subwoofer in a 10" sealed truckbox. It met way beyond what I'd hoped for
with fantastic lows. It won't rattle your neighbors hangars in their closets,
but that wasn't what I was looking for.

Excellent Sub

Written By Alex M, Fairfax, VA on Thursday, September 04, 2008

Excellent purchase. This sub will make your music sound better. It produces very deep, clean bass if paired with the right enclosure and amp. It makes my trance music sound like heaven and makes me feel like I'm in the club listening to my favorite DJs mixing live. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good/cheap subwoofer.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got these for my '00 Ext Cab GMC for under my back seat and they slam. I've owned many subs before for different trucks, but these by far have been my favorite. These are practically a steal at their price, don't hesitate to buy!

Never had such a bad sub

Written By mavstone, Pueblo, Colorado on Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Hooked up sub to my Amp as Tech support said. Did the break in as manual said. Did not hit hard, and the bass sound was not there. All of this on my second one and last one since it did not even come close to holding the power stated.

Sealed slam

Written By Dylan, Spokane, WA on Monday, June 09, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put 2 of these in a sealed box, .75 per and fed them with the Alpine MRP-
500, with a 2 ohm load so they both have 250 rms. MAN, these slam, I was
looking into getting the Alpine Type Es since a buddy at work has them but
got these. He runs more RMS and I still hit harder and lower, plus these
look a ton better. If your looking in the 150-300 rms range subs, keep a
eye on the P2's.

Great Buy!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a pair of P1's in my 98 Silverado Ext Cab and loved them, so when I bought my 04 Crew Cab Silverado I couldn't wait to get new subs that would fit. I picked these P2's because of the price and more clear lower end bass. I used the same amp as before so I wasn't worried about them blowing my ears out. (Just a little Punch 2502). I'm not that big of an audiophile that spends a lot of money on a stereo. I just want the sound clear and have full range.

Enclosure Compatibility

Woofer: The cone uses a parabolic injection molded polypropylene design. Polypropylene is lightweight and strong, giving the woofer high power handling and low distortion.

High Excursion Large Roll Surround: A large edge roll surround allows Punch woofers to produce 20% more linear excursion than standard surrounds, resulting in more bass output.

Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former: Aluminum voice coil formers offer superior heat dissipation over other commonly used materials. The hard-anodized finish on this 2" former increases its strength. These two factors combine to improve the overall power handling characteristics of the subwoofer.

Precision Stamped CRS Basket: Reinforced cold roll steel basket legs dampen unwanted resonance for better bass coupling.

Double Stacked Magnet Motor Assembly: The stacked magnet assembly is used to create a powerful linear motor with increased excursion capability for superior bass output.

Removable Magnet Cover: The cosmetic magnet cover can be removed when additional mounting clearance is required. With the magnet cover installed, the woofer has the following dimensions:

  • Magnet Diameter: 7.109"
  • Depth as top: 5.643"

Spring Posts: The heavy-duty spring posts will accept pin connectors and bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Concealing Ring: Once the subwoofer is mounted, the concealing ring can be installed to hide the mounting screws, giving the subwoofer a finished look. With the ring in place the mounting height increases to 0.844".

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Rockford Fosgate range from 0.5 cu/ft to 1.0 cu/ft. The ideal size recommended is 0.65 cu/ft.

Recommended Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Rockford Fosgate range from 1.0 cu/ft to 1.5 cu/ft. The ideal size recommended is 1.25 cu/ft with one 3" diameter x 7.3" long port. A 1.0 cu/ft box requires a 3" diameter x 9.6" long port; a 1.5 cu/ft box requires a 3" diameter x 5.7" long port.
