The Rockford Fosgate P2L-2X12 sub enclosure pumps out authoritative low end that'll leave you wondering how you ever got along without a dedicated bass system in your car. Rockford Fosgate's Loudspeaker Enclosure Analysis Program Program ensures that the woofers and enclosure are perfectly matched for premium bass.

Rockford Fosgate built this box with the bass enthusiast in mind. Durable black carpet and solid 5/8" medium-density fiberboard construction make a rock-solid home for the subs, while reliable Rockford Fosgate wiring ensures superior signal flow. And the enclosure's unique vent design keeps the air flowing with reduced port noise for highly efficient bass that won't sound muddy.

The two Punch P2 12" subwoofers feature polypropylene cones, poly-foam surrounds, double-stacked magnets, and advanced cooling vents for high performance under heavy play. You can feed up to 500 watts RMS to this system, so find a good amp and some wiring, then check out the thick low end this enclosure adds to your vehicle.

Enclosed Subwoofers 101

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

I purchased these subs sometime last summer and have been driving around with a
smile on my face since. While they could potentially hit high notes harder they
are fantastic on deep extended bass lines and are great even when turned down.
If its loud you want.. these are the subs for you...unless you're crazy and
wanna set of car alarms then you should go with the P3s. But overall I have
nothing short of overly satisfied with my purchase. Its been proven that my car
can be heard from over a mile away with all windows up and trunk closed. Thats
loud!! Thank you Crutchfield!!!!

Two Punch Stage 2 DVC Woofers: The enclosure houses two front-firing 12" dual 4-ohm voice coil woofers. The cones are constructed of high modulus, closed conical polypropylene and have ABS/Acrylic dustcaps. Polypropylene is lightweight and strong, giving the woofers high power handling capabilities with low distortion.

High Density Poly-Foam Surround: A high density compressed half-roll sealed poly-foam surround allows Punch woofers to produce a more linear excursion resulting in more bass output.

Spider: A compliant linear spider made from tear and fatigue resistant poly-cotton improves mechanical stability under high excursion, maintaining consistent excursion characteristics.

Voice Coil: The woofers use high temperature voice coils with a spun-laced Nomex insulating reinforcement collar which offers superior heat dissipation over other commonly used materials.

Venturi-Effect Cooling System: The Venturi-Effect Cooling system gradually reduces the air-flow exhaust path area and increases the air speed across the key thermal masses of the woofer's motor parts which helps reduce voice coil temperatures, improves thermal dissipation, and improves overall reliability of the speaker.

Double Stacked Magnet Motor Assembly: The stacked magnet assembly is used to create a powerful linear motor with increased excursion capability for superior bass output.

Basket: The Rockford Punch woofers feature sturdy 16-gauge geometrical compound bend frames for added stability.

Solid MDF Construction: The enclosure is constructed of high quality 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Vented Enclosure: The vented enclosure is aided by precision construction through computer design. The enclosure consists of two front firing 12" Punch Stage 2 woofers with a centered, proprietary high-flow, low-noise port. The speaker terminals are located on the left side of the box (when facing the box). The box is covered in black carpet.

Tuned Port: The enclosure uses a front-firing proprietary high-flow, low-noise port to help produce deep and loud bass efficiently.

Box Carpeting: The enclosure is finished with high-density carpeting for superior durability. The carpet color is black.

Speaker Terminal: The subwoofer enclosure uses one pair of high current, spring loaded binding posts to connect your amplifier to the speaker box for maximum current transfer. The binding posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 12 gauge.

Wiring: The two dual 4-ohm voice coil Punch Stage 2 woofers are wired in a combination of series and parallel inside the box to present a 4-ohm load at the enclosure's speaker terminals.

Power Handling: Combined, the subwoofers can handle up to 500 watts RMS; 1000 watts peak power.
