Excellent factory replacement

Whether you're building your first system or replacing some burned-out factory speakers, Rockford Fosgate's Prime Series R1675X2 6-3/4" speakers offer clean, powerful performance that'll keep you and your friends rockin' as you drive. Plus, Prime speakers are a great way to get Rockford Fosgate sound quality without destroying your bank account.

Better components give you more detail

Each 6-3/4" speaker sports a stiff polypropylene woofer cone that delivers strong drums and bass, along with clean reproduction of the midrange frequencies. Rockford Fosgate mounts the silk dome tweeter flush with the woofer so it'll fit in more vehicles while adding the excitement of strong high-frequency response. The built-in crossover network divides the frequencies going to each driver, so all your music plays faithfully. Grilles are included.

Great factory replacement. Reduced volume level due to ohm difference of factory speaker when used with factory head unit. Turn it up and they rip!

Great factory replacement. Reduced volume level due to ohm difference of factory speaker when used with factory head unit. Turn it up and they rip!

Pros: Sound great.

Cons: Do not fit factory holes in a Nissan w/o supplied bracket that requires a lot of work to make fit correctly.

Way better than stock.

Nice set of speakers. I upgraded with an aftermarket receiver, so the difference from stock was very impressive.

Pros: Clear, solid sound.

Cons: Wish you could a little more bass out of a speaker this size.

If you are looking for an inexpensive pair of speakers to replace average quality OEM, these are a good deal. Do not expect them to be better than OEM unless your OEM speakers were really bad.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Required drilling to install in 350z rear even though instructions and web site said that they don't.

Impressive speakers. Good mid range clear highs. I am running them in the rear doors of a 2006 nissan frontier king cab. Pushing them with 125 watt per channel amp. I run an infinity powered sub and separates up front. I have set the HPF to send mid and high frequency to these speakers and the LPF to send low freq to sub. This setup allows me to reduce blindness and draw the mids. Over all these speakers expands the soundstage give better headroom. If I were to do it over again I would spend a little more and put separates in the back as well.

Pros: Good mids decent highs Inexpensive Good quality

Cons: None

1999 Toyota Land Cruiser
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers did not provide the audio experience I expected. My initial installation was on a stock head unit only running 22 watts RMS with the speakers installed in the rear doors. Output was barely audible even at high volume. I figured there may be a polarity issue, but the problem persisted even after switching wires. Then I figured that maybe the speakers just needed more power. Since I had already ordered an amplifier I decided to wait before casting judgment. Even with 60 watts RMS from an external amplifier, I had to turn the gain on the amplifier quite high just to get a moderate volume from the speakers. My call to tech support left both the technician and I baffled at the problem. The sound output, even with the gain turned up rather high, had almost no bass. At least the higher tones were clear. I'm disappointed with these speakers and plan to return them soon.

Pros: Nice appearance. Reasonable price.

Cons: Perplexing difficulty obtaining sound output. Lack of bass even with external amplifier (60 watts RMS).

Outstanding Value & Sound

Written by: JohnI from Hamilton, Virginia on May 3, 2015

Installation was easy as pie. Had my Crutchfield panel tools and nothing could have been easier. The sound was fantastic even with a sub-par aftermarket head unit. No distortion, crisp clean mid-range and highs sounded terrific. Bass response was okay considering the head unit was only delivering 14 watts. I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who wants to spend a little but get a lot.

Pros: Sound; Value; as always, Crutchfield mastersheet.

Cons: None.

1998 Chevrolet K Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered these speakers for my 1998 K2500 ext cab. They are in the front doors and paired with a Pioneer DEH4600BT head unit. The installation on the drivers door took about 20 to 45 minutes. There is no speaker bracket to simply slide and replace factory speaker and I had to drill new mounting holes. The passenger door took about 20 minutes start to finish. Part of the issue was the mounting instructions showed that a mounting adapter was in the box and needed to be mounted first. A quick review of the speakers on Crutchfield site answered the question. The speakers produce nice clear sound and on the proper eq settings I can turn the volume almost as loud as it will go without distortion. They are great improvement over the factory 5 1/4 speakers. If you are looking for speakers that produce low bass tones then buy a subwoofer. If a quality decent priced replacement speaker is what your after, then these will work. I listen to hard rock and metal and these speakers work well for that. I think in the near future I will remove the speakers and place dynomat around the speaker mounting just to improve the sound quality. Overall I am pleased with the speaker.

Pros: Crisp clear high and mid range sound.

Cons: Nothing.

I put these in the rear doors of my 07' Tacoma along with Rockford Fosgate Prime R1675-S in the front doors. Powered by Kenwood Excelon KDC-X798. I used the supplied mounts from Crutchfield that I had to do slight modifications to make the speakers fit on to them. Once in the brackets they mounted to doors just fine. Now your not going to get bone jaring base, but they do have a real nice base to them.

Nicely made and sound great

Pros: Appear to be very well made and durable

Cons: Instructions said "+" terminal marked but even with magnifying glass I could not find it on either speaker. Was trying to verify polarity, but probably not necessary given adapter plug connects to speaker only one way. Only other con is directions do not address anywhere how to deal with lip in door opening from stamping process. Screw retainers don't work due to raised lip, so cutting or filing lip is necessary. Would have been helpful to know that in advance.

With the supplied harness adapter, and the instruction of how to dismantle the rear deck of my 98 Corolla, and their matching system for speaker size to stock mounting points in my car the installation couldn't have been easier.

Pros: The clarity out of these compared to my stock speakers are light years apart.

Cons: The only con I can think of is the lack of bass, but with a subwoofer these are a wonderful to have, they had a nice midrange and really make themselves a worthy piece of the pie.

These speakers were an excellent replacement to whatever aftermarket garbage was in my 1998 Saturn rear deck. They sound good for the price. Very pleased. The only problem with the speakers, is that, THEY DID NOT FIT. The screw holes are a larger diameter than what is located in the rear deck itself. Crutchfield adviser said I would have to re drill holes with any aftermarket installation. I think someone should put that on the website..............

Pros: Sound, price

Cons: DID NOT FIT-Website said they would

The speakers sound real well over all the frequency's

Pros: They are Built real well.

Cons: The Crutchfield dimensions for the 1996/97 Passat are wrong , 6 1/2" size would of fit perfect the 6 3/4" are really too big to fit just right. I had to break off a couple of plastic pins and drill the mounting hole in a different location so as to line up with the original holes. Original appeared to be a hair over the 6 1/2" diameter.

1997 Chevrolet Camaro
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price, this speakers sound great if installed properly. I put these in my 97 Camaro. For the front door, they don't fit the factory brqcket all that well. It will work, but not without minor modification to the factory bracket. I recommend removing the factory harness from the old speakers to avoid modifying the vehicle side wiring. No harness is provided since the front speakers have a tweeters built in with seperate wires. Putting these in the rear seat area was basically plug and play. Its a little tight to get them in, but they bolt right in with factory hardware. I recommend a rubber seal to help then seat better. My car didn't come with sound foam and mats so it does sound a little hollow and reduces the lows, but when I add that; these speakers will sound even better and really pound. Not sure why peolple are complaining about bass. When these are supplied with enough power, they hit as hard as a 6" speaker can. Remember, you can't pair a speaker with a low power system and expect it to sound like a theater.

Pros: Sound great at an affordable price. Plenty of install options. Definitely recommend these for a great sounding speaker on a budget.

Cons: None that I have found so far.
