The flush-mount tweeter allows this speaker to fit in more locations and provides a more focused image.
Whether you're building your first system or replacing some burned-out factory speakers, Rockford Fosgate's Prime Series R1675X2 6-3/4" speakers offer clean, powerful performance that'll keep you and your friends rockin' as you drive. Plus, Prime speakers are a great way to get Rockford Fosgate sound quality without destroying your bank account.
Each 6-3/4" speaker sports a stiff polypropylene woofer cone that delivers strong drums and bass, along with clean reproduction of the midrange frequencies. Rockford Fosgate mounts the silk dome tweeter flush with the woofer so it'll fit in more vehicles while adding the excitement of strong high-frequency response. The built-in crossover network divides the frequencies going to each driver, so all your music plays faithfully. Grilles are included.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
I picked these speakers up along with their matching 6x9s for my 2011 Tacoma (without JBL upgrade). Compared to the stock system, the Rockford Fosgate Prime speakers produce a much clearer sound, especially in the mid range.
Pros: Clear, Inexpensive, & Easy install with included brackets & harness
Cons: Not as clear when the volume is turned down
Speakers sound great & install was easy.
Cons: Had to drill a hole to mount the speaker in my speaker panel- factory holes didn't line up with speaker.
Amazing sound. Bang for your buck.
Great sounding speakers
Fit good and sound good. Crutchfield is the best!
Pros: All good so far
Cons: Haven't heard any yet
These speKers were purchased to replace worn out OEM speKers in our 14 year old Dodge Neon. They were inexpensive, fit perfectly (had to drill new mounting holes) and they sound much better than OEM. They were exactly what I needed and did the job perfectly.
Pros: Better than OEM, nice fit, great installation instructions, free wiring harness included that made install simple.
Fit perfectly in sons 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee rear doors. decent mid range no bass
Pros: price and size
Cons: no bass
For the price these speakers did great. I replaced the stock speakers in my mom's Rav4, and it greatly improved the sound over stock. You get a lot more than you pay for with these speakers.
Pros: Good quality and value. they sound great!
Cons: None so far.
Overall an ok speaker.
Pros: Good speaker for the price.
Cons: I know it's mot a sub but still a little disappointed in bass response.
They sound clear compared to a stock speaker but there's no bass compared to my originals. I think I will either change them out or add a small sub
Cons: No Bass
Speakers were as advertised. Great sound, easy purchasing process. Shipping was fast and trackable.
Pros: Great product for a great price
Cons: Not a large selection of products that fit my other vehicle
Impressive speakers. Good mid range clear highs. I am running them in the rear doors of a 2006 nissan frontier king cab. Pushing them with 125 watt per channel amp. I run an infinity powered sub and separates up front. I have set the HPF to send mid and high frequency to these speakers and the LPF to send low freq to sub. This setup allows me to reduce blindness and draw the mids. Over all these speakers expands the soundstage give better headroom. If I were to do it over again I would spend a little more and put separates in the back as well.
Pros: Good mids decent highs Inexpensive Good quality
Good sound vs. factory. Should have replaced those factory speakers years ago.
Pros: Good sound and relatively easy to install
Cons: Brackets and holds did not line up well It took some effort to mount speakers
Good sound great price
These speakers did not provide the audio experience I expected. My initial installation was on a stock head unit only running 22 watts RMS with the speakers installed in the rear doors. Output was barely audible even at high volume. I figured there may be a polarity issue, but the problem persisted even after switching wires. Then I figured that maybe the speakers just needed more power. Since I had already ordered an amplifier I decided to wait before casting judgment.
Even with 60 watts RMS from an external amplifier, I had to turn the gain on the amplifier quite high just to get a moderate volume from the speakers. My call to tech support left both the technician and I baffled at the problem. The sound output, even with the gain turned up rather high, had almost no bass. At least the higher tones were clear.
I'm disappointed with these speakers and plan to return them soon.
Pros: Nice appearance. Reasonable price.
Cons: Perplexing difficulty obtaining sound output. Lack of bass even with external amplifier (60 watts RMS).
I love the sound, great bass and incredible volume.
Pros: bass, clear sound
Nice speakers, sound great with nice bass. Easy install in my tacoma. As always great price with Crutchfield
Pros: Crisp clean sound. Budget friendly
Installation was easy as pie. Had my Crutchfield panel tools and nothing could have been easier. The sound was fantastic even with a sub-par aftermarket head unit. No distortion, crisp clean mid-range and highs sounded terrific. Bass response was okay considering the head unit was only delivering 14 watts.
I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who wants to spend a little but get a lot.
Pros: Sound; Value; as always, Crutchfield mastersheet.
Great sound at a great price. Went in easier then I thought. I didn't need the speaker brackets that came with the order.
Pros: Much better sound quality over the cheap stock speakers.
Cons: No problems at all.
I ordered these speakers for my 1998 K2500 ext cab. They are in the front doors and paired with a Pioneer DEH4600BT head unit. The installation on the drivers door took about 20 to 45 minutes. There is no speaker bracket to simply slide and replace factory speaker and I had to drill new mounting holes. The passenger door took about 20 minutes start to finish. Part of the issue was the mounting instructions showed that a mounting adapter was in the box and needed to be mounted first. A quick review of the speakers on Crutchfield site answered the question. The speakers produce nice clear sound and on the proper eq settings I can turn the volume almost as loud as it will go without distortion. They are great improvement over the factory 5 1/4 speakers. If you are looking for speakers that produce low bass tones then buy a subwoofer. If a quality decent priced replacement speaker is what your after, then these will work. I listen to hard rock and metal and these speakers work well for that. I think in the near future I will remove the speakers and place dynomat around the speaker mounting just to improve the sound quality. Overall I am pleased with the speaker.
Pros: Crisp clear high and mid range sound.
Sounds great , even got enough bass for me.
Pros: Easy install
Put four of these in my 93 Grand Cherokee sounds great thanks a bunch!
I put these in the rear doors of my 07' Tacoma along with Rockford Fosgate Prime R1675-S in the front doors. Powered by Kenwood Excelon KDC-X798. I used the supplied mounts from Crutchfield that I had to do slight modifications to make the speakers fit on to them. Once in the brackets they mounted to doors just fine. Now your not going to get bone jaring base, but they do have a real nice base to them.
Put speakers in the back doors of my 2010 Tacoma they sound great
Pros: great sound good price
Nicely made and sound great
Pros: Appear to be very well made and durable
Cons: Instructions said "+" terminal marked but even with magnifying glass I could not find it on either speaker. Was trying to verify polarity, but probably not necessary given adapter plug connects to speaker only one way. Only other con is directions do not address anywhere how to deal with lip in door opening from stamping process. Screw retainers don't work due to raised lip, so cutting or filing lip is necessary. Would have been helpful to know that in advance.
They sound great with aftermarket pioneer head unit
Pros: Great frequency response,very clear
Cons: In my Nissan maxima replace blown factory Bose speakers that were same 6 3/4 size but may need baffle or new holes drilled most likely was installed in rear deck
For only being 2 way speakers, they scream !
Pros: Good price Excellent sound quality Quality craftsmanship
Does not fit vehicle as advertised on website. Will be Returning soon.
Pros: Looks nice, shipped in a timely manner.
Cons: Doesn't fit.Crutchfield response on July 1, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Great price, great name. I put these in the wife's Mitsubishi spyder with 6x9 RF's on the back. Alpine head unit. Sounds awesome even with the top down.
With the supplied harness adapter, and the instruction of how to dismantle the rear deck of my 98 Corolla, and their matching system for speaker size to stock mounting points in my car the installation couldn't have been easier.
Pros: The clarity out of these compared to my stock speakers are light years apart.
Cons: The only con I can think of is the lack of bass, but with a subwoofer these are a wonderful to have, they had a nice midrange and really make themselves a worthy piece of the pie.
These speakers were an excellent replacement to whatever aftermarket garbage was in my 1998 Saturn rear deck. They sound good for the price. Very pleased. The only problem with the speakers, is that, THEY DID NOT FIT. The screw holes are a larger diameter than what is located in the rear deck itself. Crutchfield adviser said I would have to re drill holes with any aftermarket installation. I think someone should put that on the website..............
Pros: Sound, price
Cons: DID NOT FIT-Website said they would
The speakers sound real well over all the frequency's
Pros: They are Built real well.
Cons: The Crutchfield dimensions for the 1996/97 Passat are wrong , 6 1/2" size would of fit perfect the 6 3/4" are really too big to fit just right. I had to break off a couple of plastic pins and drill the mounting hole in a different location so as to line up with the original holes. Original appeared to be a hair over the 6 1/2" diameter.Crutchfield response on June 4, 2014 Our Vehicle Research team is looking into this situation, just to make sure our database is correct. If needed, we will certainly update our listings.
Sound way better than stock speakers, bass a little weak but these are only 3.5 inch speakers.
Pros: Sound good
Cons: none really
I like the size of the speakers fit great!
Pros: Size of speakers
Cons: Had to switch the wires to fit my car
My front door speakers blew out in my 2000 Camaro so I decided to replace all my speakers with some new ones. A Crutchfield advisor recommended these speakers and I'm so glad he did!! They sound amazing and they pick up the mids and highs perfectly. I was surprised that even without a subwoofer they still pick up good bass!! I'd recommend these for sure!
Pros: Good quality sound, cheap, picks up great bass
Cons: absolutely none
Great Speakers for the price
Sound great in my Toyota
Pros: Nice sound and fit in the back doors
Awesome speakers great sound easy install
simple installation once viewed YouTube tutorial about how to take off door.
Pros: straight forward install. sounds great
Cons: none so far
For the price, this speakers sound great if installed properly. I put these in my 97 Camaro. For the front door, they don't fit the factory brqcket all that well. It will work, but not without minor modification to the factory bracket. I recommend removing the factory harness from the old speakers to avoid modifying the vehicle side wiring. No harness is provided since the front speakers have a tweeters built in with seperate wires.
Putting these in the rear seat area was basically plug and play. Its a little tight to get them in, but they bolt right in with factory hardware. I recommend a rubber seal to help then seat better. My car didn't come with sound foam and mats so it does sound a little hollow and reduces the lows, but when I add that; these speakers will sound even better and really pound.
Not sure why peolple are complaining about bass. When these are supplied with enough power, they hit as hard as a 6" speaker can. Remember, you can't pair a speaker with a low power system and expect it to sound like a theater.
Pros: Sound great at an affordable price. Plenty of install options. Definitely recommend these for a great sounding speaker on a budget.
Cons: None that I have found so far.
Great replacement speaker. Does not require much power to sound good.
Installed 2 pair of Rockford fosgate prime 6 3/4 speakers and a pair of Polk DXi 10's in a 1999 camaro. Price was excellent as are the products and service from crutchfield.
Pros: Great product
Nice, decent sound for budget-friendly 2-ways.
Cons: Low power-handling
Put the speakers in my golf cart the sound really awsome. would tell friends to buy them
Pros: sound great.just the right lows and highs for a golf cart or a car for that matter
Nice replacements for the OEMs.
