These speakers are really good though and i will keep buying from this website.

These were a good and affordable replacement for the front door in my 2015 Prius. They pull decent power from the factory head unit and provide tighter bass (though not great response) and previously missing detail. The plastic mounting brackets Crutchfield provided didn't include much needed hardware, which made installation more difficult. These speakers sound great with classical and folk music. Hard Rock could use an amp at higher volume.

Pros: Big improvement over factory at a very good price.

Cons: Mounting brackets missing hardware.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I do not currently have them hooked up to an amp, but they go pretty well with my stick stereo. I have a 2013 Camry and I put the 6x9s throughout the car even though crutchfield says they will not fit. Install went well with he harness that crutchfield supplied (no splicing needed) and the adapters helped somewhat since I just used my stock rear deck speaker as the bracket. Highs are great, however, i do wish there was a little more bass but that is what a sub is for. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Pros: Easy install, great looking ascetics, and crisp highs.

Cons: More bass!

I needed replacement speakers for the front doors in my 2014 Nissan Maxima. After blowing one, I certainly didn't want to replace it with another factory unit. The technical team was great about walking me through the install since they didn't quite have up to date info on my model year. The quality of these speakers are great and the sound is clear. Can't wait for them to break in so I can crank it.

Pros: The highs are very clear and the music has new definition to it. these handle power so much better than the factory speakers that I can hear the back speakers struggling.

Not that great compared to stock

Written by: Violator from Texas on February 15, 2015

I have a 2015 Chevy Colorado. The stereo in it sounded pretty good, but I wanted to see if a speaker upgrade might make it sound even better. I bought a set of these, along with the required adapters and installed them in the front doors. After getting them installed and taking a listen, I was not happy. The factory speakers actually sounded better to me than these did. I think it is because the factory speakers in the doors were simple one-way speakers and they're paired with smaller mid/tweeters in the dash. After installing these Fosgate 2-way speakers the high frequencies seemed to be out of time-alignment or something. It seemed to be "ringy" and just didn't sound good. I took them back out and put the stock speakers back in and after listening again I'm actually much happier with the way the stock speakers sound. I really wish I had bought these Fosgate speakers from Crutchfield instead of seeking what I though was a better price elsewhere though! If I had bought them from Crutchfield I would be able to return them now, but the site I bought them from doesn't accept returns on opened merchandise. Lesson learned I guess. I'll try and sell these on craigslist or something now.

If you're installing these as a replacement for old or fried speakers they'd probably do just great though. The speakers themselves sounded pretty good, just not along side other tweeters in the dash I guess.

For the price these speakers are well made and should give me many years of service. Mid range is clear and nice. The bass is actually pretty loud but not as deep and rich as I would have liked to hear. With that said ,,,,they are priced correctly. I am running a stock deck and these speakers matched up to it just fine.

Pros: good price, well made, loud bass, works well with a stock deck.

Cons: bass is loud but needs to have more depth. But is is after all just a 6x9.

2009 Nissan Rogue
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had some concern from an earlier review about how they would sound at higher volumes but took a chance anyway. Very glad that I did! These replaced the factory stock speakers in the front doors of my 2009 Nissan Rogue and run off the factory radio. The treble and bass are very well balanced and remained clean to volumes much higher than what the factory speakers ever came close to... with far better bass response! (thumpity-thump!) Installation went well but the factory screw mounts did not line up perfectly. Using the original mounts, I was only able to do 3 of the 4 mounts for each speaker. The screws were beefy enough and they mounted solid enough that 3 out of 4 were quite adequate and there's no rattle. Very happy overall!

Pros: Great sound range and bass response using factory OEM radio

Cons: Screw mounts did not line up with OEM speaker mounts on front doors

2006 Nissan Pathfinder
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for something to replace a blown speaker in the driver-side door of my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. I replaced the stock CD/stereo a few months ago, and with "bass boost" I accidentally blew the speaker out. The online help agent was able to set me up with this pair of speakers, based on my requirements: not too expensive, decent sound, and an easy fit (with no special mounting brackets) for my car. Overall, these fit the bill, and I'm very happy with them so far. The price is right and the sound works for me just fine.

Pros: The sound is pretty good, and the price is pretty good, too. Also, the instructions were helpful in getting the interior panels off to replace the speakers.

Cons: A slight fitting problem. I did not use the mounting screws that were used with the stock speakers. I found some screws I had laying around that worked, and only used 3 of them per each speaker as the holes did not line up perfectly.

Underwhelming.

2011 Nissan Rogue
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me start off by saying this is the cheapest pair of speakers I've ever bought. My most recent setups had Eclipse, MB Quart, and Boston components. These we're for my wifes Rogue. At moderate volumes, I was actually quite impressed by the clarity of these speakers. But as soon as I tried to push them, I would hear a horrible scratching from the tweeter at certain frequencies. Mind you, I'm talking volume levels to cover wind noise from having the windows down. So not deathly loud but louder than average. I'm not sure what I expected from Rockford's budget line. For the average listener or the rear deck, these will be wonderful speakers. For those wanting clear, loud music, or for a front speaker install, save a little more money and go ahead and get some nice components.

Pros: Good value, clean highs at moderate volume. Bass extended surprisingly low.

Cons: Noticable distortion at higher volumes. Push them with an amp or keep the volume down.

I would have given it 5 if the installation went easier. Mounting hole didn't line up and new speakers where taller than originals. There should be some clarification in the instruction on how to modify. I was under the impression that the would fit without modifications. That said they sound great and the modifications weren't exceptionally difficult.

Pros: Speakers sound great

Cons: Installation was more difficult than expected do to mounting holes not lining up. Also the speakers are taller than original forcing some modification.

I had a hard time deciding what to get when I went to Crutchfield store. I tried several different configurations but when I heard the Rockford Fosgate Prime R169X2 I knew. These speakers sound very realistic; but sound quality is very subjective You can find yourself hating these speakers if you only want bass response. These are nearly perfect cones, meaning they cover a full range of the frequencies you need to appreciate music the right way; but again, sound quality is very subjective.

Pros: Warm sound

Cons: None. I love them!

I bought these speakers to replace the factory rear deck speakers in my 2002 Mazda Protege. They were worth every penny I paid for them, the difference in sound is very noticeable.

Pros: -Great upgrade for factory speakers -Can use factory speaker grills -Can use factory mounts

Cons: There was a hiccup installing them in the rear deck, the screw holes did not line up with my rear deck holes (they were only off my a 1 or 2 millimeters), this was fixable by useing the screws that came with the speakers and driving them at a angle until they fixed themselves.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sound pretty bad. Also, barely fit the application due to (1) basket is barely able to fit into Mazda's standard subframes [not for inexperienced installers], and (2) larger-diameter magnet pushes back against Mazda's standard rubber backing due to diameter [NOT due to depth, which is OK].

Pros: Works, but barely as to fitment.

Cons: Fitment is really not suitable for the application.
