1999 Acura Integra
Acura Integra sedan stock locations: 2 6 x 9s in rear deck, 2 6-1/2 midrange in bottom of front doors w/1" tweeters at top of door. Sony speakers up front w/60 watts rms 240 peak, dome tweeter. Jensen 6 x 9 3 ways with ceramic tweeter 45 watts rms with foam surround finally fall apart after years of faithful service in the rear deck. Had transferred these from another car which I sold. Running a 60 watt rms 4 channel Sony amp with mosfet power and output stages for clean power. Sony CD player with 24 bit DAC. I purchase these RF 6 x 9s. What a difference; very clear with good bass! I listen to classic rock mostly 1950s to 1970s, guitar music. No subwoofer as I need every bit of space in my trunk, being a musician. These are not as bright as the Jensens because of the silk dome tweeter compared to the Jensen ceramic tweeter but even though Jensen rated at 30 KHz and RF at 48khz RFs have better bass. I think there is something to coaxial vs three way speakers. Stacking speakers one on top of the other with 3 way or more seems like it would affect the sound. You don't see home speakers stacked on top of each other. This speaker is 2 way with a flush mounter tweeter which allows the woofer to pump out the bass in an unobstructed way for clear undistorted sound. I highly recommend music lovers to purchase a separate amp with mosfet output stages for clean power to get the most out of your system. I don't think I'll buy speakers that are rated lower in watts than the amp anymore.
Pros: Quality materials, design and sound at a low price. Good bass for classic rock sounds even w/o a sub.
Cons: Would not fit. Had to drill speaker basket to make fit.
