Overview

Our take on the Rockford Fosgate RFK10i

This wiring kit does not include speaker wire, so you'll need to purchase that separately to complete your amp installation. This kit includes patch cables for a 2-channel or mono amp — you'll need to add cables for multi-channel amps.

Your amp needs big power wires in order to deliver top performance to your sound system. Rockford Fosgate's RFK10i amplifier power and signal wiring kit supplies everything you'll need to send power and input signals to amplifiers with fuse ratings of up to 25 amperes. Rockford Fosgate makes the 10-gauge cable from 100% pure crystal-oxygen free copper wire so you can count on maximum power transfer.

Excellent product package - everything I needed for my package subwoofer install.

Great wiring package for a subwoofer installation!

CrashDavis from Fitchburg, MA on 7/14/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used this wiring package to install a Sound Ordnance B-8PTD subwoofer in my '14 Taco. Quality of the cables is excellent (especially the RCA cables). Also very handy that a 25-amp ATC fuse already is wired into the power cable (saves a step in the installation process). Well worth the price. Highly recommended.

Pros: Cable quality, especially the RCA cables. Also like that a fuse is already wired into the power cable.

Cons: None!

Perfect!

Excellent product package - everything I needed for my package subwoofer install.

Pros: Variety of package options to choose from based on your application; nice-looking hot lead and RCA cables.

Cons: Not enough spade terminals included and zip ties too small (I know - boo-hoo - but you asked.)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice kit with all of the wiring and connectors I needed to install a subwoofer in the back of my son's SUV. The quality appears to be very good. My greatest concern is how the power cable holds up in high temps next to engine. But, I figure these have been around awhile, so it must be well-tested.

Pros: A complete kit.

Cons: Ground wire a little too short, limited placement options.

Works but it's small.

Anonymous from Florida on 2/17/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The wire kit works well and has great quality. The only two things I didn't like was the length of the ground wire; it was very short and would cause problems if your ground was far from the amp/sub. Also the metal rings are small, I had to enlarge them to make them fit into the screw I was going to use for ground. 8th gen civic owners: If your ground is going to be the seat screw that anchors the seat you're going to have a tough time. The metal ring is smaller than the screw so your going to have to enlarge it.

Pros: Works well. Good quality.

Cons: Ground wire is short. Metal ring ends are small.

Questioned if I should spend the money on the kit or buy what I need from a local store. I went ahead with the purchase, since I know Crutchfield only carries quality. That was definitely the right move. High quality wire, RCAs, connectors. It was a complete kit, and was a perfect companion to the MTX Sub purchase.

Pros: Excellent quality & comes with everything you need.

Nice kit for installing my powered sub in a 2001 Malibu. Cables were long enough. Didn't need all the zip ties that came with the kit but was nice that they were included. Ground lead was a bit short but it worked.

Pros: Pretty much everything you need to connect up an amp or powered sub is there

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Kit included all parts to complete the installation, but it was not apparent if Rockford Fosgate had a support system in place to assist DIY'ers in routing the power line. Perhaps provide vehicle specific information with a couple of location options for tapping the firewall, but most importantly, provide information for vehicles that do not provide adequate locations through the firewall.

Pros: Complete DIY Kit

Cons: No support system

This was a good wiring install set but the power cable was just long enough so if you have a longer install it may be too short for you.

Cons: The power and ground cables could be longer.

Great Amp Wiring Kit

Tyler S from Northeast Ohio on 6/25/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid and durable amp wiring kit. The 10 gauge power wire was very pliable and easy to position, along with high quality RCA cables and a non-gaudy fuse holder. My only issue was the length. S-10 Blazers are really quite short, so I was surprised when I ran the wiring and only could get about 1 foot past the rear seats. It worked out fine for me in the end however.

Good kit

GCH from Leesburg, VA on 4/4/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When I first received this kit was I was disappointed. The thickness of the cable was much smaller than that of the kits at the big-box stores, and was twice the price. On closer inspection, the RF kit is clearly superior. The wire is supple, compared to the kit at the big box, and the diameter of the actual wire strand of the kit from the big box was much smaller than the RF kit (the big box diameter is thicker because the insulation is thick).

Pros: Nice that a plastic grommet comes for passing through the firewall.

Cons: 25A fuse works, but it's cheesy.

Great kit for powered sub

Toddman from N.Tx on 3/31/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Rockford Fosgate RFK10i has just what you need to install an amp ...... without speaker wire. I used it to install the Sound Ordnance B 8-PTD. It is a great choice for any low watt amp. I like that it has everything you need altogether in one package. The wire is top quality with the correct colored jackets(if that's something that matters to you).

Pros: Easy to run, very flexible wires High Quality Wires with adequate length to install All-in-one package

Cons: Picture is deceiving, so read the description ..... not all connectors shown are in the package No spade connectors for attaching wires to amp .... just used bare wire on mine

Don't try an install without it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product for installing the Sound/Ordnance B 8-PTD. I can't speak for larger amps (contact crutchfield's techs). This made installation of the B 8-PTD in my 2012 Tacoma Access Cab a snap. Well worth the investment. And, it saved me trying to find parts in West Tennessee (not too many thriving metropolises). The bottom line is "Talk to Crutchfield's techs, they will save you a ton of time)

Pros: Just what's needed to complete a professional install.

I bought this to install the Sound Ordinance B-8P woofer in my 06 Trailblazer. So far I have been very happy with my results. The only downside (and this is vehicle specific) is that the ring terminals provided would not fit on an aftermarket post extender or on any pre-driven bolts for the ground.

This is common wire that you need if you are going to put a new system into your car. It comes with everything that you need for the setup: power wire, ground wire, remote wire, patch cable, and all neccesary fuses. The only thing that is somewhat of a turn off was that the rca patch cable was not a little bit longer so that you could nicely tuck the wire out of sight as you carried it toward the back of your trunk.

Not for Large Amps

JDV from FL on 12/28/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this kit because of all the great reviews. However, this kit is not sufficient if you have a large amplifier or a car that is using a lot of power from the battery. I'm sure this product is good for the smaller amps, but I'm trying to power a 300watt at 4 ohm amplifier and I'm getting voltage drop over the distance of the power cable. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but from what I can tell, I'm going to have to get a 4 gauge kit. If you have a powerful amp, just spend the money and get the 4 gauge kit. Don't try to be cheap like me and save money. I'm actually going to wind up spending more because I thought this could do the job. You live, you learn

The kit was cheap and straight forward with the installation. Only thing that I missed with this kit was the amp to sub wire. Thankfully, I had that in my collection of wires from my former setup, I was saved! Thought 8 Gauge would be too thin for a 150rms but seems like it is doing well. Great simple wire kit.

Mike V from Bronx, NY on 9/4/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good quality wires, and the built in fuse and fuse holder saves a lot of headaches. The battery positive power feed wire for the amp could have been longer. I had to cut and splice more wire to the existing wire in the package. Suprisingly the package didn't come with blade connectors to attach the power feed and ground wires to the amp. It would have been nice if the kit came with speaker wires instead of having to purchase separately. Aside from the minor details, the kit worked pretty good with no sound issues ! This kit was used to wire in a MTX Thunder 200 watt amp in the trunk of a 1992 Acura Integra LS - 4 door.

Joe from Scottsdale, AZ on 6/1/2009

I'm new to the car audio arena and this was my first go at installing an amp. This install kit gave me one less thing to worry about. The power cable is heavy duty with the in-line fuse already installed in it. All of the ring connectors are installed on the necessary wires as well. I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra and I installed the amp in the rear cargo area. I had enough length on all of the wires and this kit was a real help. If I ever install an amp again I'm going to make sure I get a Rockford Fosgate install kit. Thanks Crutchfield.
