When they refer to patch cable , they are referring to the RCA signal cable .
kenneth  Nov 21, 2020
A
Another word for RCA cables.

Patch cable is the RCA wires that go from the head unit to the amp.

Q
Will this kit with 100amp fuse work with kicker 1200 watt class d amp? Kicker amp reccomends 150amp fuse so not sure if I can upgrade fuse or if this will work with the 100amp fuse. Thank you.

A
It would depend on the length of the wire ran. If there is less than 13 foot of wire to be ran, you could get away with this, but there will be a drop in voltage after that with the 4 gauge wire. I would recommend going to a 2 or 1 gauge wire with a 150 amp fuse. You run the risk of the wire overheating if its undersized.

Q
I have a hybrid, is it bad to give too much power to the amp for only 1 sub? For instance using a 1000w amp for a 500w rms sub. Would I use this 4g kit or an 8g?

Hybrids do have a limited capacity for their alternator - what is the exact year make and model? You can connect with one of our product advisors to discuss your amp setup and whether your battery/ alternator will be adequate. I've been building sound systems for over 10 years and I learned one thing very quickly, large amounts of current don't enjoy being pressed thru a small opening. Your amp will only ever draw the current that it needs, however; having a larger power setup will enable it to draw that extra current when needed without issue. I also recommend investing in a top and side post battery. Apply a second ground from the battery directly to the frame of the vehicle. With these things in mind, you should be in good shape.

Always bugger wires. As long y You're running under a 1000 RMS most stock alternators most stock alts can only lush like 700 to 1000 watts rms. If you're gonna be over powering the sub I would recommend running sealed or a perfect spec Box And turn the games down slightly from what's recommended
alex  May 29, 2020
A
You should use the 4g, it will handle the heat and power better.

Q
This kit comes with one "set" of RCA cables that would only work for the front/rear speakers. Does a kit come with two RCA cables?
eric  Feb 10, 2016

A
All amp kits, as far as I am aware, only come with a single set of RCA wires. ....an extra pair of RCAs is cheap and Crutchfield will take care of you:-)
barton  Feb 11, 2016
A
By set it means 2 lines...which is 1 pair...it would run either the sub rca input...the left and right of front...or the left and right of rear...if it's a mono channel amp you don't need another cable set...if it's a multi channel amp you will need to by another cables set
