About the Rockford Fosgate T1682
Intense performance
Intense performance
Rockford Fosgate builds their Power Series speakers for the true car audio enthusiast. These Power T1682 6"x8" speakers utilize advanced design elements to ensure that they'll deliver superior sound in your vehicle for a long, long time. The lightweight polypropylene cone is reinforced with strong carbon fibers so it'll keep its shape when you're pushing the speaker hard. You'll hear accurate midrange and bass reproduction, while the 1" aluminum dome tweeter makes the high frequencies sparkle. These speakers will handle up to 80 watts RMS so connect an external amplifier to get the most out of them.
Rockford Fosgate innovations
Proprietary VAST™ technology increases the woofer's cone area without increasing the size of the basket. This larger cone gives you deeper lows and more power handling, and it's supported by a durable rubber surround that's designed to last a long time. Rockford Fosgate mounts the tweeter on an offset suspension system, minimizing any acoustic reflections from back of the tweeter and maximizing accuracy. And open slots on the frame make it easier to install these speakers if the factory holes are slightly off.
Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Features
Injection-Molded Woofers: The woofer cones are injection-molded carbon fiber and polypropylene. This molding process assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also light weight and rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.
Butyl Rubber Surrounds: The butyl rubber surrounds dampen unwanted harmonic distortion while maintaining linear geometry under extreme weather conditions. This leads to less distortion, superior frequency response, and superior durability.
Klippel Verified: The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Rockford Fosgate optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.
VAST Surround: The Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without increasing the size of the basket.
Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1" Aluminum dome tweeter mounted to an offset cantilever to eliminate frequency response anomalies due to acoustic reflection between the woofer cone and the rear of tweeter.
Speaker Terminals: These speakers have 0.25" wide positive (+) terminals and 0.187" wide negative (-) terminals, which are too large for the vehicle-specific speaker harnesses supplied by Crutchfield for many vehicle applications. It is recommended that a pack of assorted female quick slides (item number 120FQS10PK, sold separately) be purchased and spliced to the harnesses to adapt them to the speaker terminals.

These speakers have the most quality that I have seen in an aftermarket brand. Definitely a solid choice.
