Inputs and Outputs Notes
Playback: This unit will play MP3 files
recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 level 1 format. This unit
is not compatible with multi-session discs. If you try to play a multi-session
disc, only the first session will be played. This unit can recognize a maximum
of 223 folders and 223 tracks. Discs containing more than 223 folders or tracks
will not play.
Decoding: The DVD
receiver has built-in Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding.
Audio DAC: The DVD receiver has a 96kHz/24-bit D/A converter that
allows it to play back DVDs with 96kHz/24-bit linear PCM digital audio.
D/A Converter: The
DR-C500 uses a 27MHz/10-bit video digital-to-analog converter, which reduces
digital artifacts for a better picture.
Output: The DVD receiver supports the Progressive scan system, as well as
the conventional Interlace scan system. Instead of splitting each video frame
into two sequential fields like interlaced scan, progressive scan displays the
entire frame in a single sweep. Where a standard DVD player's 480i output
displays 30 frames (60 fields) per second, a progressive-scan player's 480p
output displays 60 full frames per second. Progressive-scan picture quality is
more film-like, with more fine detail and less flicker. Progressive-scan viewing
requires a TV with a progressive scan compatible component video input.
Output: In addition to the composite and S-video outputs, the DVD
receiver is equipped with a set of component video outputs. When connected to a
television with a component video input, the component video output of the DVD
receiver will provide picture color and detail that is superior to video from
composite and S-video outputs. The component video output may be set for
interlaced or progressive scan operation.
Display: The on-screen display language can be set to English, French,
Spanish, German, or Italian.
