The Onkyo LS3100 Envision Cinema speaker system can fill a small room with enveloping sound (TV, furniture not included).
Just because your TV room is a cozy one doesn't mean you can't satisfy your craving for big sound. With the compact yet fully-featured 4-piece Onkyo LS3100 Envision Cinema system, you'll have clear, coherent dialogue and rich, enveloping sound effects without the big-system footprint. Built-in virtual surround processing ensures that you'll enjoy a wide soundfield that invites you in to the action on the TV screen while watching your favorite movies and TV dramas.
It won't just be your TV entertainment that benefits when you add the LS3100 — thanks to its Bluetooth® streaming capability, you can beam your digital music library directly from your compatible tablet, smartphone, or media player. In many cases, this means you can act as your own DJ, dialing up tunes and playlists while making a meal in the kitchen.
Four pieces make up the sytem: two small satellite speakers, a central control/amplifier unit that accepts commands from the remote conrollers of most major TV brand, and a wireless subwoofer that tucks away wherever you have a bit of floor space and a power receptacle. It puts a full bottom-end on your music and movies that makes the '3100 feel like a much bigger system. With 90 watts of built-in amplification, there's plenty of power to fill your living room and more. And better yet, in most cases, you can get the system up and running within five minutes, with only a few connections. The speakers come with their own versatile desktop stands so they can be oriented in a lot of configurations, and the hardware for wall-mounting is included as well.
Enjoy rich, robust sound that puts you right in the middle of your favorite movies, TV shows, and video games. Powered home theater systems come with speakers and a subwoofer plus the amplification to drive them. Many of these systems feature low-profile consoles and ultra-compact speakers for minimal visual clutter. Some include a built-in Blu-ray/DVD player for enjoying movie and concert discs.
Unfortunately the subwoofer stopped working after about two minutes of play. During that two minutes the system did have good sound. You had a choice of two different sound setting but one of them was so horrible it was really not usable. The speakers, especially the sub, did not appear to be of the highest quality. The set up was quick and simple but not nearly as simple as other 2.1 systems I have seen. (Bose Cinemate) After set up I was left with a bunch of white wire that needed to be tucked in and hidden. I was just not impresses with the overall quality.
Pros: Decent sound quality. Some users might say that the Bluetooth capability is a plus but it was not a factor for us because we have Apple TV and we can already stream video and music through a variety of devices.
Cons: Does not appear to be of high quality. One of the sound modes is so horrible it's not usable. Messy wiring that is not as functional as other systems I have seen. (Bose Cinemate)
Easy to setup, easy to use and Bluetooth works with iPhone. Sound is good and enough for small room. Has nice bass. If your looking for something simple, I would highly recommend.
Pros: Easy setup
Cons: Limited connection types and # of connections.
I have been searching for an adequate surround sound system in connection with my iMac computer. I narrowed my selection to some good products, but the drawback has always been the many cables and wires needed. My answer was the Onkyo LS 3100, with Bluetooth capabilities.
Pros: Excellent sound qualities, especially the subwoofer. Really good performance at lower frequencies. I have it set up in my apartment, more power than I anticipated. Inadvertently I turned it on and forgot to turn down the volume first, a real blast, sounded like 80dbs. Only for cables needed (supplied). The remote control works very well, great feature, to control the volume of the subwoofer and the other four speakers separately.
Cons: The instruction manual is ok, but had a little trouble with the Bluetooth pairing. Could be more detailed. Other than that, I really recommend this product highly. Now I can enjoy my Spotify and iTunes.
The Onkyo Envision system really delivers a rich theatre sound quality to your living area. After adjusting the subwoofer & choosing the sound quality that best matched my preference; the quality, for such a compact system, meets my expectations, and then some. Very easy to setup with everything provided, and I like the ease of connecting to iTunes via bluetooth. Additionally, the speakers look really great next to the tele or mounted on the wall.
Pros: Everything I stated in the review.
Cons: none at this time.
