Onkyo is known for making excellent home theater receivers. But some people prefer a simpler, cleaner setup in their main TV room rather than the receiver-and-speakers approach. That's why Onkyo designed their first sound bar, the LS-B50. Its built-in six-channel amplifier and eight drivers reinvigorate TV shows, movies, and music — in bold, clear stereo or stunning virtual surround sound. The wireless subwoofer fills in those low frequencies that have been missing and presumed non-existent. Together, they'll make you wonder how you ever tolerated those wimpy little TV speakers.
The right sound at the right time
Onkyo's AuraSphere technology digitally optimizes the bar's drivers to create a lifelike 3D effect with a large "sweet spot." That means dynamic, realistic sound won't be restricted to the person sitting front and center. Plus, there are three sound modes designed for different content. "Movie" mode delivers plenty of deep bass through the subwoofer for explosive sound effects, while making sure dialogue remains clear. "News" is perfect for dialogue-heavy TV watching, where soundtrack music and other effects aren't a priority. And "Music" mode digitally adjusts frequencies in the audio signal for well-balanced stereo sound when cranking up your favorite tunes.
The LS-B50's eight front- and side-panel drivers will take your TV's sound to new heights in stereo or virtual surround sound.
Bluetooth and USB options for music
The LS-B50 offers several options to get your music playing. Connect your disc player to the coaxial digital input. Or you can use your smartphone or computer to stream music wirelessly over Bluetooth to listen to your digital music collection. Or stream tunes from music services like Spotify®, Pandora®, and SiriusXM. There's a USB port for playing digital music stored on a flash memory device like a USB thumb drive, easily controlled with the included remote.
Quick setup, easy control
The beauty of sound bars lies in their easy setup and operation. The LS-B50 is a cinch to get up and running. Place the bar on your TV stand or wall-mount it with the included kit. You can run a single optical cable (also included) from your TV into the bar. Place the wireless subwoofer anywhere you like in the room — no wires means fewer restrictions. Plug both the subwoofer and bar into a power protection device and you're ready to rock. The bar even comes pre-programmed to work with remotes for most major brands of TVs.
