Some people think they don't have the space for home theater — not even a sound bar with a wireless subwoofer. But what if you could get clear dialogue, deep bass, and immersive sound all from a single box that fits under your TV? That's what the Onkyo LS-T10 offers. This solidly built cabinet supports most TVs weighing up to 77 pounds or with screen sizes up to 55 inches. It features four front-panel drivers, two side-panel drivers, and a woofer on the bottom. Together, they add far more excitement and drama to movies and TV shows than your TV's speakers could ever dream of doing. Best of all, you'll be able to hear every detail without sitting inches from the screen.
Onkyo's AuraSphere technology digitally optimizes the LS-T10's drivers to create a lifelike 3D effect with a large "sweet spot." That means dynamic, realistic sound won't be restricted to the person sitting front and center. Plus, there are three sound modes designed for different content. "Movie" mode delivers plenty of deep bass through the subwoofer for explosive sound effects, while making sure dialogue remains clear. "News" is perfect for dialogue-heavy TV watching, where soundtrack music and other effects aren't a priority. And "Music" mode digitally adjusts frequencies in the audio signal for well-balanced stereo sound when cranking up your favorite tunes.
The LS-T10 offers several options to get your music playing. You could connect your disc player to the coaxial digital input. Or you could use your smartphone or computer to stream music wirelessly over Bluetooth so you can listen to your digital music collection. Or stream tunes from music services like Spotify®, Pandora®, and SiriusXM. There's even a USB port for playing digital music stored on a flash memory device like a USB thumb drive, easily controlled with the included remote.
Not sure you can handle this sophisticated system? Don't worry — the LS-T10 is a cinch to get up and running. A single connection between your TV and the speaker with the included optical cable is all you need to seriously beef up your TV's sound. Then, just plug the system into a power protection device and you're ready to rock. With lots of remote codes already pre-programmed into the LS-T10, there's a good chance your TV remote will control it right out of the box. If not, use the included remote to start enjoying this system's big sound throughout your living room.
Add big sound to your TV without a roomful of speakers. Sound bars require minimal space and wiring, and their sleek designs complement today's flat-panel TVs. Most sound bars have their own built-in amplification, so you won't need to use a home theater receiver. Some models use advanced surround processing and carefully aimed speaker drivers to simulate the effects of a full home theater audio system.
Great sound for the price. I have a smaller basement so I was not in need of a ythingn that would shake the house. This sound bar provides just the right amount of bass and acoustics for the space it is in.
Pros: Quick and easy setup, good price, controlled directly from TV remote
We have other Onkyo products. They have served us well. This piece of sound equipment is precisely what we needed to bring clarity to our living room TV. And the delivery was fast and FREE. Good company - Crutchfield!
Pros: Clear, precise sound. Easy to use. The Onkyo learned our TV remote instantly.
very bad experience with this unit and Crutchfield. tried two and could not get either to work with my remote. the second unit they sent wouldn't even sit level. even tried onkyo support and no help. Crutchfield is usually good with customer service but dropped the ball several times. disappointed.
Pros: sounds good
Cons: could not get to work with remote, second unit was uneven (one leg on unit noticably shorter than the other), Crutchfield was no help-had to call onkyo
I was looking for a bump up in sound from the internal TV speakers for times when I didn't want to power up the whole 7.1 sound system. Super easy to set up and it sounds very nice!
Pros: Easy set up and use, low profile, simple controls, nice price
Tried other sound platforms this one sounds the best and was the easiest to control with my Directv remote
Pros: easy to set up and use
Cons: it does not shut off with the directv remote
We kept cranking up the sound on our Samsung TV but we still had difficulty hearing every word and sound of TV shows and movies. Not anymore. The Onkyo with bass gives us rich sound and we hear every word.
Pros: Easy to hook up TV. Greatly improves sound quality. Has different sound settings for different media. Attractive. Bass included.
great system, easy to set up, impressive sound - both in quality and volume, the Bluetooth connectivity is also very good, my iPhone was connected from all over the house. we're Onkyo fans for 20-years, the LS-T10 is no exception.
Pros: sounds great, very simple to use, great Bluetooth connectivity and function
Has excellent sound for an "all-in-one" solution on the cheap. Not audiophile grade (no tweeters so the high end is only okay) but great for everyday use and non-snobby movie watching and music listening. Hard to discern the difference between music and movie mode but could be because of the layout of the viewing room.
I'm an audio engineer and my TV's built-in speakers made me mad (yes, actually angry) so I got this after doing a bit of research on Crutchfield's site. This Onkyo has really met my expectations and is the perfect intersection of price, form, and function. I now thoroughly enjoy watching TV shows, movies, and even listening to pop/rock music on it. Classical is iffy but that's why I have my (snobby) listening room, right?
Pros: 1) Easy setup. Didn't even have to program it to recognize my TV remote keeping operation simple. 2) Multiple inputs that don't require the TV to use. Bluetooth audio and analog line-in make it perfect for simplified setups (like a den or office) 3) Excellent bass extension. Because subwoofer.
Cons: Two things: 1) Bluetooth has to be "unlocked" from the sending device; e.g. if you try to connect via your phone but your tablet is already connected (even unintentionally) in another room, you have to deactivate the tablet's connection. Since there is no indicator on the LS-T10, you have to do some detective work to figure out why the phone isn't connecting. 2) The subwoofer sometimes doesn't wake-up in "auto" mode; resolved by rebooting the LS-T10. Workaround is to leave the unit on 24/7.
Very good sound quality, far better than the Samsung TV that it is connected to. Very simple to connect and operate, everything just works. There is however one weird problem with it: my TV will not output 5.1 sound via optical connection if the source is external, a blueray player in my case. The TV down-converts the sound to 2.1, probably due to HDCP standard requirements. The blueray player does allow me to connect to the speaker directly using a coax connection and send 5.1 sound directly to the speaker. However the speaker chooses the 2.1 sound from optical (that the TV sends) over the 5.1 sound from coax (from the blueray player). However, I do not consider this issue worth deducting any stars.
Pros: - sound quality - Bluetooth connectivity
Cons: - no grill on the downfiring subwoofer - the auto power off seems a bit quick, no way to adjust the delay - cannot adjust priority of the optical connection vs coaxial connection
It has a wider length and taller than the Bose Solo and supports more weight. That info is for the eye. The ear tell the story and is plug and play compatible. This is not my first experience with Onyko and not the last - Need I say more?.
Pros: As advertised
Like most people who purchase a tv-stand type soundbar, our (meaning my wife's) main concern was not having lots of wires all over the place and speakers cluttering up the room. The main tv is in the great room, a cathedral-ceiling and open concept area, and my main choice, the Yamaha YSP-4300, specifically states it won't work in an area like this, as it needs walls to bounce the sound and simulate the surround area. Due to the construction of the house, running wires in the ceilings and walls will be time-consuming and difficult, and we have a lot of other items to address first. I showed my wife the Bose Solo unit in a retail store; she liked the idea of a stand, no wires, no speakers, and we both liked the Bose products we have heard before, so we bought it and tried it out. The Bose unit looked excellent, and the sound was clearer than the tv speakers for the dialogue, but the bass was non-existent, and it was very disappointing on DVD's, and even tv dramas. So we returned it to the retail store and went back to researching on Crutchfield (what a great site this is!), and decided to try the Onkyo, the only tv-stand/sounbar with a built-in sub. The sound is excellent - it is not surround sound, far and away no match for a real surround-system, but the bass is noticeable, the clarity is excellent, the power dominated the large room, and the bluetooth is very nice. I highly recommend this unit.
Pros: Clarity of sound, built-in powered sub, looks nice, bluetooth, ease of setup and operation. Power turns on when it senses a signal and off after a few minutes with no signal, and the volume adjust with both the tv remote and the cable remote, so the Onkyo remote is not necessary for everyday use.
Cons: Not a surround system, but you know this when you buy it.
The Onkyo LS-T10 was recommended to us by Crutchfield staff. The soundbar we were considering would not support the weight of our TV. We have an Onkyo receiver as a part of our home entertainment center in our living room. so we were familiar with the Onkyo brand and very happy with it's performance. The Onkyo sound bar is everything we hoped it would be. Great detailed sound . Thanks Crutchfield for the suggestion.
Pros: Great buy and Onkyo makes quality equipment.
Cons: None as yet.
I almost Bought the Bose Solo, I read a review on the Onkyo Sound bar, and thought Cheaper by $100, better sound, I'll take a chance. Glad we did, Love Concerts and Movies very full and rich sound.
Pros: Sounds great, easy setup and attractive design.
Bought the BOSE Solo, liked it, but didn't love it. One setting, remote wasn't compatible, and the bass notes were just so so. Then tried the Klipsch 120 Sound Base, better with the bass. Getting better, but still wasn't sold on the richness of the bass as well as the simulated surround. Really doesn't exist. Plus it was BIG. Really bulky, looked like it could stand a re-design. THEN I saw the Onkyo. Bought that and really love it. I'm a fan of EDM and Electronica, so the subwoofer that's built underneath a world of a difference. Three settings for Music, News and Movies are each different in their own way (knowing full well this unit isn't intended for true surround sound). For this price range, you may want to really consider this piece of equipment.
Pros: BASS BASS BASS Compatible with my TiVO remote right out of the box Bluetooth for playing from other devices
Cons: Mids and highs probably not has clear as the Klipsch, but certainly sound very good. Unit powers off if you mute for more than 15 minutes. Drives me nuts cause you have to turn TV and Unit on/off again together or power up the unit itself with the included remote to get volume back.
The product arrived in a reasonable timeframe considering we were having a snow storm. It was well packed but larger than I expected, but also seems well put together (heavy). Overall, it certainly is better the the TV speakers. A little heavy on the bass which can be adjusted. The remove is a little flimsy and may get lost. Turns automatically off if TV volume on mute for a period of time. This can at times be annoying, but nice if you forget to turn the unit off with the tv. When it turns on, its at a low setting, which is nice, so you can adjust up the volume. Would be nice if you could adjust the time. All of the control settings are on the top of the unit and not in front, so if you want to see what audio mode, ie music, movie etc, you have to go and look on top of the speaker. There is no way of knowing what the audio volume is (no digital or analog display). Would have been nice if you could see settings either on screen or in front of unit (as long as the LED would turn off after adjustments made so as not be visually annoying). Has bluetooth, but have not had a chance to try it.
Pros: Seems solid, sounds better than TV speakers, Has blue tooth connectivity which is nice.
Cons: Bigger then I thought, a little heavy on the bass. no visual audio setting, and other controls/led on top of the of unit, so you have to go to speaker to actually see settings.
GREAT SOUND AND EASY TO SET UP I THOUGHT ABOUT A DENON SIMILAR PRODUCT AND GLAD I CHOSE THIS ONE ONKYO HAS DONE ITSELF PROUD ON THIS GEM
the active subwoofer is powerful, especially when you watch Blue ray movies, make you feel you are in a real movie theater, meanwhile we have to cost more money on rating movies. now we more enjoy watching music TV shows, such as the VOICE, X-factor. LOVE THE SOUND BASE!
What more can I say? My wife LOVES it! This Onkyo looks great, sounds fantastic, and plays nice with all of my other electronics. Looks great... sits right under my television and compliments the entertainments center. The little light in the middle lets me know the power is on and blinks when I adjust the volume. Sounds fantastic... a deep enough sub-woofer sound to bring movies to life, with the ability to lower that boom when the kids are sleeping! There is also a music, news, and movie mode which give you some different sounds. Plays nice... the Onkyo automatically powers on when it senses the tv turning on. It also turns off automatically. My cable remote controlled the Onkyo's volume out of the box. Bluetooth was super easy to pair with an iPad, iPhone, and HTC android based phone. By the way, this blew the Bose Solo out of the water... hands down.
Pros: Easy to set up, simple connections, adjustable sound, quality audio from all connected devices and bluetooth devices
Cons: Sometimes, I am finding that the volume indicator on my tv screen is inconsistent and needs to be tweaked with the Onkyo remote control volume levels. For example, on occasion, I turn the volume to 0 using the tv remote and I can still hear the Onkyo speaker. I think this might be because I am still using a few different remotes to control the volume.
Brilliant sound quality...deep rich sound. Just watched avatar on bluray. And everything sounded phenomenal. The bass is deep but not over intrusive and the speech is clear and clean. Also works great for bt music streaming. And really sturdy design string enough for my 31kg 50" Panasonic. Sounds better than the Bose soundbox and also the Philips htl5120 soundbar.
Pros: Sturdy design space saving excellent sound. Built in sun
Cons: Small remote likely to lose down the side of sofa. Bit of an understated simple design not as slick looking as some of the soundbars on market. Some may find it A bit big and bulky
This product works great and is so simple to setup. Sound is great too.
Pros: Simple to use and totally automatic, and the the sound quality is great. Also I like this model because there are only two wires, one wire to the TV (optical cable) and one to the wall outlet for power.
Cons: My only complaint is the base of my TV covers up the buttons on top of the speakers. The suggested size of the TV base did not mention this issue which is the reason why I did not give it a 5 star rating.

Soundbar Speaker Base: The Onkyo LS-T10 is an under-the-TV soundbar solution that dramatically improves your audio/video experience when watching your flat-panel TV. The LS-T10 soundbar speaker base is great for movie and music soundtracks. The LS-T10 will fit under flat-panel TVs up to 55" and weighing 77 lbs. The TV's pedestal base should be no more than 26.5" (w) x 10.375" (d). The soundbar speaker base system can connect to your television via a single analog (3.5mm) or digital (optical/coaxial) cable.
Multi-Speaker Array w/ Built-in Subwoofer: As a self-contained space-saving, virtual surround sound system, the LS-T10 features a six-channel digital amplifier to power the six-driver array; with four 2.75" full-range drivers on the front, a 2.75" full-range speaker on each side, and an active 5" subwoofer on the underside. You can adjust the volume level (-/+10) of the subwoofer independently from the main volume (0-30).
Dolby Digital Decoding: Dolby Digital is a high quality audio format commonly encoded on DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and in TV broadcasts. Select TVs can pass Dolby Digital audio from there built-in ATSC/QAM tuner and network apps through to the LS-T10 for dynamic playback, enhanced even further with AuraSphere DSP technology. You must connect the audio signal of your Blu-ray/DVD player or Satellite/Cable box directly to the soundbar speaker base to receive a Dolby Digital signal. If you route the audio signal of your Blu-ray/DVD player or Satellite/Cable box through the TV first, it will come out as PCM (2ch) at the TV's digital output; the AuraSphere DSP technology will create a virtual surround sound effect either way.
Panoramic 3D Sound w/ AuraSphere DSP: The LS-T10 is powered by AuraSphere DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology. It works by optimizing driver output to create a 3D surround effect from stereo sources. Unlike other DSP technologies, AuraSphere expands the sweet spot (the area in front of the TV where audio sounds best) to create a 3D soundfield that places the listener in the center of the action, wherever they're sitting. The LS-T10 offers three pre-programmed AuraSphere sound modes.
Analog + Digital Inputs: The Onkyo LS-T10 is fitted with both analog and digital inputs to connect your external AV components. There is one optical (toslink) and one coaxial (RCA) digital input to connect up to two digital audio sources, such as your flat-panel HDTV and Blu-ray player. The digital inputs will accept PCM (2ch) or Dolby Digital (5.1ch) audio signals. There is also one analog audio minijack (3.5mm) input for connecting a portable MP3 player with a headphone jack output or a TV without a digital output.
USB Port: The Onkyo LS-T10 features a USB (type-A) port which allows you to connect a compatible USB mass storage class device; such as select Android smartphones (Gingerbread/Froyo OS only), digital audio players, or USB thumbdrives. The unit will support music playback and basic control (play/pause & previous/next track) of MP3 music files (8-320kbps; 8-48kHz) stored on a compatible USB msc device formatted in FAT 12/16/32. The speaker's USB port will also charge your USB-enabled device while connected.
Note: The USB port is not compatible with the Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Pair your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to the LS-T10 and stream music wirelessly via built-in Bluetooth (ver.2.1+EDR) technology. You'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music and music apps on your Bluetooth-enabled devices to the LS-T10. You'll still use your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device for music navigation and song/artist information. Pairing is done with the press of a single button.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Onkyo system.
Remote Control: The LS-T10 features top-panel controls and includes a wireless IR remote for operation of the system's power, volume, input source, sound mode, and USB playback controls. It also comes preprogrammed with IR codes for a variety of major TV brands (and learning capability for others), which means it switches on automatically with your television and responds to your TV remote volume commands.
Note: The LS-T10 is preprogrammed with IR codes for nine major TV brands; including Funai, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio, with learning capability for other TV brands.
Auto Standby: The system automatically enters standby mode if there is no operation and no sound for approximately five minutes.
