Written By Mary, Spotsylvania, VA on Saturday, July 12, 2008 As a first venture into buying stereo equipment in over thirty years I didn't really know what to get or what I needed and was limited in funds I was willing to spend. I had a couple of old speakers I bought thrifting that work great and I needed a receiver and CD player . I went shopping locally but saw nothing in the big box stores but giant boombox types or shelf systems that seemed monstrous. I knew I would want to add to the system over time so I wanted the start of something. I went to a local store, who had nothing in my price range, but luckily the salesman there had once worked at Crutchfield's. He was great and recommended the Onkyo as a good receiver for me. I took his advice and am very glad I did. I went online to Crutchfield's and found the receiver right away. It came and I had no trouble hooking up the speakers and CD player I also bought. With the old speakers, it fills the house and sounds great. I can even get radio reception, which is almost unheard of where I am. It was a great way for me to start listening to music again and getting my second wind for life. Mary 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
