Ordering was very easy. Product came within 3 days. Install took about 30 min. The only thing difficult was deciding where to hide the wires and where to locate the ipod. Sound is cd quality, expect that I need to turn up the volume all the way on the ipod in order to be on the same sound level as the radio. Make sure that the ipod wires do not come in contact with other electrical wires or you will get interference. My only complaint is that the unit does not shut off when the car is not on, otherwise it is a great product.

I was a little nervous about doing the installation but it turned out be a piece of cake. I don't know how they could have made it any easier. The instructions were incredibly detailed and easy to follow. The whole thing takes about half an hour to finish and you don't need to have any special skills to do it.

if u love your ipod and use itrip or something like that don't miss out on this. super easy to install in my 2002 ford explorer. took off face plate, unplug factory wires, took out 2 screws and the radio was out. plugged in cable from USA SPEC DF-FORD1 Adapter, then plugged factory wires into, ran cable to glove box, ran rca Y cable from adapter to ipod. (i've never installed anything on a car. good with computers, home audio, & dj stuff, but never installed anything on a car, yet this was so easy)
the sound is just like a cd and a WHOLE LOT LOUDER THAN ITRIP! if you love your ipod and love music don't wait any longer.

It took about 15 minutes to complete the install in my F250 Super Duty. Plugs right in between the factory radio and wiring harness. No splicing, ground or power connections are needed, it gets its power from the factory radio. The harnesses are long enough to ease installation. Luckily, there is plenty of empty space beneath the radio to house the harnesses and adapter. Overall, I'm very happy with the product and it's cheaper than alternate solutions.

I decided to try this model compared to other brands of auxilliary input on my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I was very happy with the quality of the kit and the accuracy of the instructions when the product arrived. I ordered the Ford radio removal tools and was able to get the radio in and out, and the unit installed in my glove compartment, in about 10 minutes. The wiring harnesses are high quality and easily snap into the radio and accept the stock wiring harness. The Ford radio treats the unit as a "CD Changer" and can allow me to listen to two different inputs.

I've hooked the unit up to the IPOD audio output and a CB radio and found that the quality of audio was impressive. I was quite surprised at the quality of the product, the easy of installation and the great audio! Highly recommended!

This thing is amazing!!! It literally took 15 minutes to install, and the sound quality from my iPod is outstanding from my factory stereo!! Highly recommended product for anyone that has a portable mp3 player!!!

This thing works, but dont buy it if you have the stereo with the indash 6cd changer, because it won't work. I had to switch out my stereo with the single one my dad had since i really liked the idea of using my ipod without the sucky ipod fm transmitter... go with this the transmitter really sucks. This has a really good sound

The installation on this product is very easy. The only issue I had was that the two plugs you have to plug into the RCU don't have very much slack wire between them so they wouldn't reach. I ended up just cutting the heatshring tubing that was holding back some of the slack. I know there are some installation problems noted here but if you plug it in right, there are no problems. One cable goes in the far right port on the RCU, the other goes in the far left with the wire that was on the far left being plugged into the pass thru. The only downside I see is that the sound is a little quiet. I originally had a monster power car adapter for my ipod but then switched to the belkin because it has a built in amplifier. All is well now. Much better than using a tape adapter or fm transmitter.

This device works very well...once you get it installed. Installation is actually very easy, once you get around a few things. I have a 1999 Taurus and the mastersheet says to get at the tuner in the trunk, you have to remove the carpet and the rear trunk trimpanel. SKIP THESE STEPS. All you have to do is lift up the carpet on the drivers side and fold it back. Then remove the two retaining clips from the trunk trimpanel on the drivers side and bend it up to gain access to the tuner. This eliminates the need to remove the rear trunk trimpanel. The next thing to note is that the owners manual that comes with the USA SPEC is a single sheet of paper with no instructions on where to plug the harnesses. Check their website to see which adapter to use. For my car, I used the F10 cable. The tuner has three receptors on it: one 14 pin and two 13 pin. The F10 has a 14 pin passthrough cable and a 13 pin connector. The 14 pin is the leftmost receptor and since theres only one place to plug in a 14 pin cable, that one was easy. But there is nothing telling you which 13 pin receptor to plug the 13 pin cable from the F10. For my car, it was the right connector (the one that has nothing plugged into it). However, the shrink wrap on the cable makes it impossible to plug one connector into the rightmost receptor and one into the leftmost receptor. Even after I cut the shrink wrap, there is still barely enough slack in the wires to make the connections. There is some strain on the wires, so I hope that does not become a problem in the future.

I give the product a 4/5 because of the poor instructions and the poor wire design. But, once its installed, it sounds great

I ordered this item 1 week ago (on Monday). It came Wednesday, however after hooking the item up as required, I found it to be MONO only and really sounded terrible. I called Tech Support which was extremely helpful, and they instantly sent me a brand new one, however they stated if the next one didn't work it might be the wiring in my car. Well, I got the second one and it too sounded terrible. The replacement came this Monday (1 week from initial order). I called Tech support again, I asked if I could just upgrade to the P.I.E. FRDR-AUX by paying the additional cost and explained that this didn't work again. They said absolutely, but again suggested it may be the wiring in the car. Well today (Wednesday) I just received the P.I.E. FRDR-AUX, hooked it up in all of 5 minutes and it sounds incredible! I can finally get rid of the stupid cassette adapter for the car!

If you own a Ford Taurus, don't waste your time, start off with the right product the first time! This product was nothing but a hassel. Crutchfield really came through on their customer and tech support!
